He seems to be facing an uphill battle for a roster spot heading into spring training, but a strong showing could give him a chance to nab a utility spot given Worth's ability to second, shortstop and third.

The 29-year-old was designated for assignment back in June, and after eight years in the Tigers' system, his time in Detroit has likely come to an end. Look for Worth to try to catch on as a middle infielder for another system's Triple-A club.
