Wed Sep 18 201317:17Clete Thomas goes hitless against White Sox
Clete Thomas went 0-for-3 on Wednesday, extending his streak of games without an RBI to 44.
Thomas has gone 131 at-bats since he last drove in a run on July 28. Of course, he's not really paid to drive in runs, but given that he has a .291 OBP and he's 1-for-4 stealing bases, we're have a hard time telling exactly what it is he's being paid for.

Tue Jul 23 201301:47Clete Thomas homers in Twins' win
Clete Thomas homered, singled in a run and robbed Chris Iannetta of a three-run homer Monday in the victory over the Angels.
Thomas was at least as the deserving of the win as Samuel Deduno tonight. In truth, he's a liability as a starting corner outfielder, which is how the Twins have been treating him with Aaron Hicks back in the lineup. But he sure did excel in this one. He's currently hitting .236/.309/.374 with four homers and 11 RBI in 123 at-bats.

Thu Jun 13 201300:12Clete Thomas has 4 hits, Twins top Phillies
Clete Thomas went 4-for-4 with two RBI as the Twins rallied to beat the Phillies 4-3 on Wednesday.
You read that correctly. The reserve, who was just 1-for-13 in the five games since being recalled entering Wednesday, doubled twice and scored the winning run in the eighth inning. He was hitting .296/.385/.576 with nine home runs for the Twins' Triple-A affiliate before being recalled, so it's not as though he's incapable of producing, but nights like Wednesday come few and far between for the 29-year-old these days.

Sun Mar 18 201216:57Clete Thomas homers, knocks in three runs
Clete Thomas went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and a walk Sunday in the Tigers' 11-7 defeat of the Nationals.
Thomas, who has remained on the Tigers' 40-man roster even though he hasn't seen time with the team since 2009, is trying to overtake Andy Dirks for a roster spot. Thomas is the better outfielder and he might be able to post the higher OBP of the two, but Dirks, who went 2-for-2 today and is hitting .429 this spring, still seems to rate the edge right now. Thomas is hitting .281 in 32 at-bats.

Sun Oct 9 201118:11Tigers considering Thomas as replacement?
If the Tigers replace Magglio Ordonez on the ALCS roster with a minor leaguer, it will be Clete Thomas, according to Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com.
The left-handed hitting Thomas hasn't played in the majors since 2009 after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee last June. The 27-year-old can still run, however, swiping 20 bases at Triple-A this year (albeit with a weak .251/.314/.401 line in 406 plate appearances). Detroit might simply wait to see if Delmon Young improves enough to return to the roster. Young was left off the Tigers' ALCS roster due to an oblique injury. Stay tuned.

Tue Feb 15 201119:20Tigers' Thomas (knee) 'raring to go'
Clete Thomas said he's "raring to go" after undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee last June.
There aren't many microfracture success stories in baseball, but Thomas was able to hit by mid-December and has already resumed running. The 27-year-old currently finds himself out of options, but if healthy, he has a chance to win a spot as a reserve outfielder and left-handed bat off the bench.
