Mon Apr 815:04Bryan De La Cruz Has First Three-Hit Game Of The Season
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz tallied his first three-hit game of the season in the team's 10-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. De La Cruz moved down in the order for Sunday's game, hitting seventh, after batting third through fifth in every game before that. However, the move down in the order helped the 27-year-old. He singled in his first two at-bats before starting off the eighth inning with a single. De La Cruz is a sneaky fantasy option moving forward, and someone fantasy managers should keep an eye on. He has a hit in nine of 10 games to begin the 2024 campaign.

Thu Mar 714:07Bryan De La Cruz Off To Solid Spring Start
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz is off to a solid start this spring as he look to bounce back from what was, overall, a down season at the plate. The 27-year-old is 4-for-12 (.333) with a pair of doubles and five RBI across 12 trips to the plate to begin his Grapefruit League action. In his age-26 season, De La Cruz hit .257 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI, alongside a .715 OPS, across 153 games played in 2023, production that graded out 8% inferior to the league average, as per his 92 wRC+. However, his .330 xwOBA was well above his .309 wOBA and he generally posted strong Statcast metrics. ATC projects 20 home runs and 69 RBI for De La Cruz in the 2024 season, making him a decent, yet unspectacular fantasy asset.

Sat Sep 16 202300:35Bryan De La Cruz Hurts Ankle On Friday

The 26-year-old came up hobbled while legging out a groundball during the third inning. De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with an RBI and one run scored before Garrett Hampson replaced him in left field. He should be considered day-to-day until we know more on his status. De La Cruz has carried value in NL-only leagues as a fixture in Miami's heart of the order throughout the campaign, hitting .254 with 19 home runs, 74 RBI, 58 runs scored, and three stolen bases through 535 at-bats. Jesus Sanchez and Jon Berti could also slide to left to help plug the hole there if De La Cruz is facing an extended absence.

Sun Jul 2 202312:50Bryan De La Cruz Getting A Day Of Rest
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz isn't in the team's starting lineup on Sunday against the division-rival Atlanta Braves. The Fish will give De La Cruz a breather after he snapped an 11-game hitting streak on Saturday by going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. In his absence, Jesus Sanchez will get the nod in left field and will bat fifth in the lineup against Braves right-hander Spencer Strider. The 26-year-old De La Cruz had gone 16-for-46 (.348) with a home run, three doubles, five RBI and six runs scored in 48 plate appearances during his 11-game hitting streak to raise his season slash line to .277/.324/.422. Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 9-6 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. It was his only hit of the night but it was his eighth long ball of the year. The 26-year-old outfielder has been a solid contributor for the Marlins and should remain in the lineup as long as he continues to hit consistently. De La Cruz has posted a .900 OPS and .389 wOBA for the month while he's hitting .291 with six homers, three steals, and a .785 OPS across 50 appearances on the campaign. Thu May 4 202315:01Bryan De La Cruz Returns To Starting Lineup Thursday
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz will return to the starting lineup Thursday after getting a breather on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has collected just two hits across his last 29 plate appearances spanning seven games while he's struck out in 17 of those trips to the plate. It appears the club is easing him back into the lineup in a lower-pressure role as he'll hit eighth against Braves left-hander Dylan Dodd. For the season, De La Cruz is hitting .250 with two homers, one stolen base, and a .656 OPS across 103 trips to the plate. There's still plenty of upside for a player that homered 13 times with four stolen bases across 115 games last season along with a bat that ended up slightly better than league, as per his 104 wRC+, as a 25-year-old.

Wed May 3 202314:49Bryan De La Cruz On The Bench Wednesday
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz is not in Wednesday's starting lineup against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Kyle Wright. The 26-year-old gets a breath amid a big slump that's seen him record just two hits -- both singles -- over his last 29 trips to the plate while he's racked up an eye-popping 17 strikeouts in that time. He also has 11 punchouts over his last 17 plate appearances with one hit in that span. For the season, De La Cruz is hitting .253 with two home runs, one stolen base, and a .662 OPS across 102 trips to the plate. Jesus Sanchez will slide over to left field in De La Cruz's stead while Garrett Hampson enters the lineup and will man right field.

However, he'll need to pick it up in other areas before earning credibility from the rest of the fantasy community.

He now has a nine-game hitting streak with multi-hit performances in each of his last four. That has helped him to a prodigious .421/.453/.825 slash line in September. He's always had plenty of talent, and time will tell if he can parlay this good stretch into a better 2023.

Fri Sep 2 202211:54Bryan De La Cruz Recalled On Friday
Miami Marlins outfielder Bryan De La Cruz has been recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. This was the expectation with the September callups beginning now. De La Cruz is hitting .212/.257/.343 with seven homers over 253 plate appearances this season. Although, he looked good in the minors and hit well in the MLB last season. The assumption is that he'll get a decent amount of playing time as the Marlins want to evaluate their young talent. However, De La Cruz can be ignored in basically all fantasy formats until further notice.

Wed Aug 11 202121:57Bryan De La Cruz Hits His First Home Run
Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Bryan De La Cruz hit the first home run of his major league career in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the San Diego Padres. De La Cruz has shown several positive signs in his time with the Marlins since being acquired from the Astros in the Yimi Garcia trade. He's hitting .267 with a .676 OPS and playing strong defense. His upside seems capped as a fourth outfielder, but with the Marlins set to evaluate their young guys for the rest of the season, De La Cruz should see plenty of playing time going forward.

Tue Aug 3 202123:51Bryan De La Cruz Gets Three Hits On Tuesday
Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Bryan De La Cruz had the best game of his big league career so far on Tuesday in a win against the New York Mets. De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with two RBI. All three of De La Cruz's hits were singles, and he did get picked off of first base, but after a somewhat slow start to his major league career, it was good to see the outfielder put some hits together. De La Cruz came from the Astros system as part of the Yimi Garcia deal. De La Cruz is batting .222 with a .485 OPS, but that's in a very small sample size. He's shown some good flashes and could develop into a decent major league starter.
