The Baltimore Orioles placed left-handed pitcher Alexander Wells (elbow) on the 10-day injured list on Friday. The 25-year-old is currently dealing with left elbow soreness. In a corresponding move, the team called up infielder Tyler Nevin and he is getting the start at third base on Friday. Wells has made two appearances so far this year, both out of the bullpen. He pitched a pair of scoreless innings in his first appearance, but was tagged for two solo home runs over 1 2/3 innings in his second outing.

Fri Oct 1 202109:57Alexander Wells Ends Season With Win Thursday
Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Alexander Wells improved to 2-3 in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox. Wells pitched 6 innings, allowing one run on three hits (including a solo home run) and two walks with two strikeouts. The 24-year-old had a poor 6.75 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and 13.2% strikeout rate through 42 2/3 IP this season, but it was nice to see him have a good final start. At this point, Wells offers little fantasy value, even in dynasty leagues.

The 24-year-old has had pretty good minor-league numbers but has not seen that translate with the O's this season, going 1-3 with a 7.76 ERA and 1.91 WHIP. It is uncertain when his next start will be, but fantasy players should avoid him regardless at this time, even in dynasty leagues.
