The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Wednesday that the team designated right-hander Francisco Morales for assignment. Morales appeared in three games for the Phillies this past season, striking out three batters while surrendering six walks, five runs, four earned runs, two hits, and a hit batter in five innings of work. He also logged a save in one of his three appearances. The 23-year-old pitched to a 4.76 ERA in 45 minor-league appearances spanning 51 innings between the National League East club's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates during the 2022 season. Morales was designated for assignment to clear roster space for reliever Craig Kimbrel on the 40-man roster.
