Relief pitcher Luis Oviedo (ankle), meanwhile, will move from Bradenton to Double-A Altoona to continue his rehab assignment. Oviedo didn't give up a run over 2 1/3 innings at Bradenton, but he did walk three batters and hit another. Alford began the year on the injured list, but he could join the Pirates this week as a platoon outfielder. Oviedo sprained his right ankle in spring training, but he, too, could rejoin Pittsburgh sometime this week.
