Mon May 1318:32Pete Crow-Armstrong Remains On The Bench
Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong (rest) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. The rookie outfielder has now sat on the bench for three straight games. He was getting decent playing time with the Cubs outfield banged up, but hasn't played much since Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki returned. Crow-Armstrong is too young and talented to be sitting around on the big league bench. He'll likely be headed to Triple-A soon if he doesn't start playing more frequently.

Thu Apr 2518:55Pete Crow-Armstrong Blasts First Career Homer
Chicago Cubs top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong blasted the first home run of his major-league career during Thursday's 3-1 win over the Houston Astros. The 22-year-old came to the plate with a man on in a tie game and smoked a Bryan Abreu offering into the seats. Crow-Armstrong is one of the top outfield prospects in baseball and should see steady playing time with Cody Bellinger (rib) sidelined for a while. Crow-Armstrong was struggling in Triple-A prior to being called up, but his speed and power blend make him worthy of a speculative add in the short-term.

Wed Apr 2416:06Pete Crow-Armstrong Called Up By Cubs
The Chicago Cubs called up outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday with outfielder Cody Bellinger (rib) landing on the 10-day injured list due to a rib fracture, according to manager Craig Counsell. Crow-Armstrong is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and deserves immediate waiver-wire consideration in mixed fantasy leagues, as he could take over primary center-field duties in Chicago until Bellinger is able to return. The 22-year-old former 19th overall pick in 2020 by the New York Mets was hitting just .203 (16-for-79) with two home runs, seven RBI and five stolen bases at Iowa before the call-up. He's more advanced defensively at this point than offensively, but his speed alone could make him valuable in the short-term.

Fri Apr 508:13Pete Crow-Armstrong Tallies Three Hits On Thursday
Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong went 3-5 in Thursday's victory. The outfielder launched his first home run of the season in the bottom of the first. Then in the seventh inning, Crow-Armstrong laced a single, swiped second base, and crossed home plate on a passed ball. To cap the night off, the 22-year-old hit an RBI double in the eighth inning, which scored two. Crow-Armstrong was in contention to open the season in the big leagues but was sent down to further his development. He is posting an overall stat line of .308/.357/.519 in Triple-A and should receive a call-up later this season as the Cubs hope to contend for a playoff spot.

Fri Mar 813:02Pete Crow-Armstrong To Start At Triple-A
Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong will begin the 2024 season with Triple-A Iowa after he was optioned on Friday as part of the Cubs' roster cuts. The 21-year-old's outlook for this season was hurt when the Cubs brought back center fielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger on a three-year deal. It's been a slow spring for Crow-Armstrong who hit just .160 (4-for-25) with seven strikeouts, although he did record three doubles and stole three bases. Crow-Armstrong hit .283 with 20 home runs and 37 stolen bases alongside an .876 OPS across 107 games between Double-A and Triple-A a season ago. He should see time in the big leagues in 2024 but his immediate-term value is hampered in redraft leagues.
