Tue Aug 16 202218:27Wilson Ramos Signs Minors Deal With Rangers
The Texas Rangers have signed veteran catcher Wilson Ramos to a minor league deal and he will reportedly join the team's Triple-A Round Rock club. Ramos split the 2021 season with the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians. His 2021 season came to an end last August when he tore his ACL. He's been working his way back ever since. The 35-year-old veteran slashed .205/.248/.397 over 44 games last year while compiling eight home runs, 20 RBI and 15 runs.

Mon Aug 30 202115:10Wilson Ramos Out For Season
According to Mandy Bell, Cleveland Indians catcher Wilson Ramos tore his ACL and sprained his MCL in yesterday's 7-5 win over the Boston Red Sox. This news is very disappointing as it will end Ramos' season. He had two home runs and seven RBI across 31 at-bats in August and made for a solid value DFS play when in the lineup.

Tue Aug 10 202108:10Wilson Ramos Homers Monday
Cleveland Indians catcher Wilson Ramos went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Monday's 9-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. This marks the second time in two starts that Ramos has gone yard for the Tribe. Fantasy managers that need help at catcher would be wise to monitor Ramos's time behind the plate to see if the Indians begin to favor him over the next week or two. If so, he could provide some solid pop from a weaker position in the fantasy playoffs.

Mon Aug 9 202117:19Wilson Ramos Batting Seventh Monday
Cleveland Indians catcher Wilson Ramos will be behind the plate and bat seventh tonight against Luis Castillo and the Cincinnati Reds at Progressive Field. This marks the second time Ramos will suit up for the Indians as he went 3-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Ramos is only recommended as a value play tonight in DFS against Castillo as he is just 1-for-6 with three strikeouts in his career vs. him and Castillo has been terrific by allowing one earned run or less in five of his previous six starts.

Sun Jul 18 202101:01Shooting outside Nationals Park halts Padres-Washington game
WASHINGTON (AP) — The game between the San Diego Padres and Washington was suspended in the sixth inning Saturday night after police said there was a shooting outside Nationals Park. The shooting, an exchange of gunfire between people in two cars, left three people injured, according to Ashan Benedict, the Metropolitan Police Department’s executive assistant police chief. One of the people who was shot was a woman who was attending the game and who was struck while she was outside the stadium, he said. Her injuries weren’t considered life-threatening. Two people who were in one of the cars later walked into a local hospital with gunshot wounds and were being questioned by investigators, Benedict said, and the extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately clear. Investigators were still trying to locate the second vehicle involved in the shooting. The gunshots caused panic among fans inside the stadium, some of whom ducked for cover, hiding underneath tables and behind seats as announcers... [More]
Sun Jul 11 202121:29Altuve's 3-run homer in 9th caps Astros' rally past Yankees
HOUSTON (AP) — Jose Altuve hit a three-run homer to cap a startling six-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, getting his jersey yanked off in a frenzied celebration and lifting the Houston Astros over the New York Yankees 8-7 on Sunday. The Astros had been shut out by the Yankees the previous two games, highlighted by ace Gerrit Cole’s three-hitter in a 4-0 win on Saturday night. The win came on Altuve replica jersey giveaway at Minute Maid Park — Houston fans left with a No. 27 shirt, while the All-Star second baseman exited without his. New York led 7-2 after a three-run homer by Gary Sanchez in the eighth inning. After the first two Astros reached base against Domingo Germán in the ninth, Chas McCormick hit a two-run double off Chad Green (3-5). Abraham Toro followed with an RBI double to make it 7-5, still with no outs. Pinch-hitter Jason Castro singled and one out later, Altuve launched his soaring shot to left field. Ralph Garza Jr. (1-2) pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for... [More]
Tue Jul 6 202117:38Indians sign veteran catcher Ramos, assign him to Columbus
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians signed catcher Wilson Ramos and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday. A two-time All-Star, Ramos spent the first six weeks this season with the Detroit Tigers. The 33-year-old batted .200 with six homers and 13 RBIs in 35 games before he went on the injured list twice in May with a lower back issue. The 12-year veteran was released by the Tigers in June. He also has played with the Mets, Phillies, Rays, Nationals and Twins. Ramos is a .271 career hitter with 134 homers and 527 RBIs in 981 games. The two-time All-Star won the Silver Slugger Award in 2016, when he batted .307 with 22 homers and 80 RBIs. The Indians were off Tuesday after their game in Tampa Bay was postponed because of Tropical Storm Elsa. They'll play a doubleheader with the Rays on Wednesday. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports

Wed Apr 14 202101:50Red Sox top Twins in snowy game delayed after Minn. shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Rafael Devers homered for the fourth straight game and the streaking Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2 on a snowy Tuesday in a series opener moved back following the fatal police shooting of a Black man in a nearby suburb. Hunter Renfroe hit a solo homer and Bobby Dalbec added a pair of RBI doubles as Boston won its seventh in a row after losing its first three games of the season. Monday’s game was postponed due to safety and sensitivity concerns in the Twin Cities after the police shooting a day earlier of Daunte Wright during a traffic stop. The Twins held a moment of silence for Wright prior to Tuesday’s game. Snow flurries fell for most of the game and it was 33 degrees for the first pitch. That made for the third-coldest start at Target Field, the record being 27 degrees on April 7, 2018. Adam Ottavino (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief. Matt Barnes pitched a perfect ninth for his first save of the season. Randy Dobnak (0-2) took the... [More]
