Casilla has joined the Orioles in time for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, MASN Sports reports.
Casilla was dealing with a hamstring injury when rosters expanded and the Orioles originally did not think they had a need for him, so when Casilla was healthy he was sent to the club's spring training complex. Defense has been a weakness for the Orioles at third base since Manny Machado went down with a season-ending injury. Jimmy Paredes, Kelly Johnson and Ryan Flaherty all made errors at third base this week and so Casilla is up to light a fire for the Orioles. There could even be a possibility that Casilla remains with the team for the post-season as a late-game replacement. Casilla hit .264/.315/.320 in 56 games at Triple-A this season.
