The 24-year-old left-hander spent the 2013 season pitching for Bridgeport in the Independent Atlantic League where he posted a 4.95 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 21/29 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings. A former eighth round selection by the Angels in the 2007 draft, Reckling will serve as organizational depth in the minors. | ||||||

Reckling once participated in the Futures Game but has taken a steady fall from grace ever since. The 23-year-old lefty allowed 19 runs in 6 2/3 innings this past season with High-A Inland Empire -- an Angels affiliate. | ||||||

A former top prospect, Reckling had trouble when moved up to face higher levels of hitters, and he was a disaster this year back at High-A Inland Empire, posting an 18.90 ERA while walking 15 over 6 2/3 innings. He'll turn just 23 later this month, though, so the former Futures Game participant should be able to latch on somewhere. | ||||||
