Thu Jul 30 201518:37Haywood waived by Trail Blazers on Thursday
Haywood was waived by the Trail Blazers on Thursday, Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Haywood was largely expected to be waived after coming to the Trail Blazers in a salary dumping trade from the Cavaliers, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise. Haywood's veteran experience and potential to be a depth option at center could help him find a team on the open market, but don't expect him to get fantasy worthy minutes no matter where he lands. During the 2014-15 season, Haywood played in 22 games, finishing with averages of 1.6 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks over just five minutes per game.

Haywood has been traded to Portland along with Mike Miller in exchange for two second-round draft picks, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Haywood is expected to be waived by Portland since he currently has a non-guaranteed contract for the upcoming season worth a staggering $10.5 million. Assuming that happens, he'll likely resign elsewhere under more reasonable terms where he'll provide depth to a frontcourt in need.
Wed Jun 17 201513:11Haywood did not appear in NBA Finals
Haywood did not appear in the NBA Finals. He played in 22 games with Cleveland and scored 1.6 points in 5.4 minutes.
Haywood was mainly a contract sitting on the bench. The team has an option on his contract for 2016-17 and it would be a huge surprise if Cleveland kept him around. The 13-year veteran has likely seen the end of his career.
Sat May 16 201509:39Haywood has not appeared in game in playoffs
Haywood has not appeared in a game in the playoffs.
Haywood played in just 22 games and buried deep on the depth chart. He is unlikely to play against the smallish Hawks, but did play nine minutes in a game against Atlanta in November.

Haywood hasn't made an appearance on the court through the first three games of the postseason.
Haywood rarely played over the course of the regular season and he's not expected to play in the playoffs either. With that in mind, there are far better options to utilize than the 35-year-old veteran from North Carolina for postseason formats.

Haywood (knee) saw his first action in six games Thursday, appearing in just five minutes Thursday in a blowout win over the Clippers, just grabbing one rebound on the night and missing the only shot he attempted.
Had the game not been a blowout, it's unlikely Haywood would even get into the game. He's only logged four games in 2015 of five or more minutes, so he's just not a fantasy option barring any injuries on the Cavs.
Sun Jan 25 201514:59Haywood took knee to own left knee
Haywood took a knee to his own left knee, and will not play Sunday against the Hornets Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The report goes on to state that Haywood's knee is very swollen, so while there is no timetable yet, this may not be the only game the big man will miss with this injury. His limited minutes will go to Timofey Mozgov and Tristan Thompson, since the Cavs lack depth up front, but don't expect a change in output from those players.

Haywood drew the start on Wednesday to score four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, and two blocks in 14 minutes.
This is about what owners can expect form Haywood, who's best days are behind him as a player. Yes, he is starting for Cleveland. However, the Cavaliers are expected to make a move for another center. This fact, along with Haywood not showing much in the few minutes he's played, makes him a player with little upside, except for those in the deepest leagues.

Haywood played four minutes and put in two points (1-1 FG) in the Tuesday win over Minnesota.
Haywood had not seen the court since Dec. 8 (six straight DNPs). The 35 year old may get a few more minutes with the apparent injury to Anderson Varejao.
Tue Dec 2 201422:08Haywood did not play in Cavs' win over Milwaukee on Tuesday
Haywood did not play in the Cavs' win over Milwaukee on Tuesday.
Haywood has appeared in four games this season, but none for significant minutes. He is coming off a major injury and buried on the depth chart. The seven-footer could get a bit of time in match ups against bigger teams.
Wed Nov 5 201408:13Haywood played in just two minutes in season debut for Cavaliers...
Haywood played in just two minutes in his season debut for the Cavaliers, and did nothing besides committing a foul.
The 34-year-old has been dealing with general soreness all season, so the limited action is no surprise. Even if he were to get more minutes off the bench, nothing about Haywood at this point should interest fantasy owners.
Sat Sep 27 201414:54Haywood full participant in Cavs' first practice of season
Haywood was a full participant in the Cavs' first practice of the season, the Akron Beacon Journal's Jason Lloyd reports.
Coach David Blatt said he wasn't expecting Haywood to be able to take part in all the drills considering he's still recovering from last season's foot surgery. Blatt called Haywood the surprise of practice, and it would seem likely that he will continue to be a strong participant throughout camp. However, in his last full season (2012-13 with Charlotte), Haywood only saw 19 minutes per game, and his per-36 minute numbers only averaged out to nine rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, so he's a very low-end fantasy option as the backup in Cleveland.

Haywood is almost fully recovered from last season's foot surgery and plans to practice from the onset of training camp, which begins Saturday, Northeast Ohio Media Group reports.
Haywood will be limited in certain drills, but the plan is to increase his activity as camp wears on with the ultimate goal of having him ready to contribute when the regular season begins. The 34-year-old will serve as a reserve center this season, backing up Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson.
Sun Jul 13 201410:29Brendan Haywood headed to Cleveland
The Hornets officially completed their draft day deal with the Cavs on Saturday, sending Brendan Haywood and the draft rights to Stanford forward Dwight Powell to Cleveland in exchange for Scotty Hopson.
It's unlikely that Hopson will play for Charlotte as his $2.45 million salary slot for next season is a team option. This move was more about Charlotte ridding themselves of the $2 million owed to Haywood for the 2014-15 season. Haywood missed the entire 2013-14 season with a fractured foot, and he is not a fantasy option.

Thu Jun 26 201423:55Haywood to Cavs as part of Powell deal
Brendan Haywood will be traded to the Cavs as a part of the Dwight Powell deal.
The Cavs take on about $2 million of a cap hit in doing this and Haywood has to prove that he can step foot on a court before he's worth talking about.

Fri Mar 14 201418:06Brendan Haywood out for the season
Coach Steve Clifford said on Friday that Brendan Haywood (foot) is out for the season.
This news was expected for a while and the Bobcats certainly don't need any help with Al Jefferson playing great ball these days. Haywood's days in the NBA could be numbered after a solid career.

Tue Mar 11 201409:37Brendan Haywood's season in jeopardy
Brendan Haywood (fractured foot) may not return to the court this season.
With just 18 games left in the season, Haywood's chances to return this season decrease by the day. Two weeks after his targeted return date, Brendan Haywood still can't do anything weight-bearing on basketball court, according to Bobcats' coach Steve Clifford. Even if Haywood does manage to rehab in time to take the court before the regular season ends, he would likely be limited to around 10 minutes per game and would provide minimal fantasy value.

Sat Feb 8 201409:23Brendan Haywood (foot) inches toward return
Brendan Haywood (fractured foot) has been cleared for jogging, shooting and light jumping, and he hopes to begin playing in the next few weeks.
He was ruled out for at least 12 weeks in mid-October but he's already approaching the four-month mark. "[A stress fracture] is not like an [ACL], where you can double up the work and get back quicker," Haywood said. "You really can't do anything for it." The veteran's ultimate goal is to be healthy enough to play "10 to 15 minutes" per game, and he will not have fantasy value.

Thu Oct 17 201316:27Brendan Haywood has successful surgery
Brendan Haywood had successful surgery on his left foot and will be out at least 12 weeks.
He had two screws placed in his foot to stabilize a stress fracture and he's going to be out until at least mid-January. Haywood was only going to be emergency depth for the Bobcats and doesn't have an fantasy value. Bismack Biyombo should see a slight uptick in minutes.

Thu Oct 10 201312:47Brendan Haywood (foot) out 12 weeks
Brendan Haywood has a stress fracture in his left foot, will have surgery and be sidelined for about 12 weeks.
This means more minutes for guys like Al Jefferson and Bismack Biyombo, but shouldn't have too much of an impact. Haywood was going to have a limited role anyway.
