Wed Aug 21 201315:43Allen Iverson to officially retire from NBA
Allen Iverson will officially announce his retirement from the NBA, according to SLAM.
We're talking about retirement? Iverson hasn't played in the league since 2010, when he accepted a (short-lived) deal with Besiktas in Turkey, and he declined an offer to play in the D-League last January. His late-career antics have clouded what a truly unique athlete he was in his prime. The 6'0" scoring guard won the MVP award while leading Philly to the Finals in 2000-01, and he finishes his NBA career as an 11-time All-Star with averages of 26.7 points, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals in a whopping 41.1 minutes per game.

Tue Sep 4 201215:09Allen Iverson still hoping for NBA return
Allen Iverson said recently that he still hopes to return to the NBA, but if not he would sign another contract in China.
It's very unlikely that an NBA team would gamble on Iverson at this point in his career, given his age, attitude, and how poorly he played with the Nuggets, Sixers and Grizzlies from 2008-2010. As for playing in China, Iverson said "the team that wants me to join has got to show me that they really mean it, like 'hey we really need you'." It still doesn't sound like he's ready to accept a bit role off any team's bench.

Mon May 28 201210:57Knicks aren't interested in Iverson
The Knicks will not pursue free agent Allen Iverson, sources tell the New York Post.
It's not exactly breaking news. Iverson wants back in the NBA, but he hasn't played since looking inept with the Sixers in 2010. We'd be stunned if any team takes a chance on the future Hall of Famer at this point.

Wed May 23 201221:09Iverson still wants to play, but in NBA?
Allen Iverson, who delivered the game ball in an emotional pregame moment prior to Game 6, says he still wants to play professional basketball, but realizes it may not happen in the NBA.
Iverson would have to drastically change his mindset and accept being a role player, and even if that happened, a return to the NBA is not likely.

Sun Nov 27 201122:24Allen Iverson to Celtics rumors rampant
There are a lot of rumors flying around the web and Twitter that the Celtics are thinking about signing free agent Allen Iverson.
A Boston Herald brief take suggested that Danny Ainge is an Iverson fan and that he could end up in Boston. That sounds like quite a longshot to us, but you never know. If he does end up in Boston (or anywhere else), he's going to come off the bench, even if he's still in NBA playing shape. In other words, owners in standard leagues would probably be wise to stay away unless he ends up in an ideal situation.

Mon Nov 14 201109:18Iverson hoping to play for Boston Celtics?
Allen Iverson's manager Gary Moore told Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe that Boston is "particularly attractive" to his client.
Moore cites Danny Ainge, the organization and Doc Rivers as reasons for Iverson wanting to join the fold. Moore also says that Iverson would "relish the opportunity to play in that organization." It's an intriguing idea as the Celtics are desperate to find a scoring source in the second unit, but it's hard to imagine his personality blending well with the veteran-led squad that Boston has built.
