Wed Mar 2709:56Freddie Freeman Finishes Spring With Fourth Homer
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman finished Spring Training with a 1-for-4 performance against the Los Angeles Angels. Freeman's lone hit was a solo home run. For the spring, the veteran finishes with four homers, 16 RBI and a .282 average. Although he is another year older, Freeman remains as consistent as they come. One of the safest picks this season, Freeman should once again put-up big power numbers with a healthy batting average. He remains as safe of a pick as there is entering 2024 and should have even more RBI opportunities with Shohei Ohtani joining Mookie Betts as the two batters in front of Freeman this season.

Sun Feb 2518:17Freddie Freeman Homers, Collects Two RBI In Spring Training Debut
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 1-for-2 with a homer, sacrifice fly, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 4-1 Cactus League win over the Padres. Freeman was batting in his usual second spot in the order and picking right where he left off last season. He ambushed the first pitch he saw from Padres right-handed starter Jhony Brito, sending it over the left-centerfield wall for his first home run of the spring. In his third at-bat, the perennial All-Star nearly had another HR when he sent the first pitch he saw to the warning track in right-center, but it resulted in a sac fly instead, driving in his second run of the game. As one would expect, Freeman hasn't missed a beat, and after hitting .331-29-102-131-23 last season, the veteran appears primed for another strong campaign. Now projected to hit in front of last year's AL MVP, Shohei Ohtani, his run totals could see a bump, and he had 12 more SB than any first baseman in 2023. Going around eighth overall, the 34-year-old is a fine foundational piece and multi-category contributor for any 2024 fantasy baseball team.

Wed Dec 13 202314:50Dodgers Superstars Attend Meeting With Yoshinobu Yamamoto
A trio of Los Angeles Dodgers superstars attended a meeting with free-agent pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, as Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts all were part of the discussion. Of course, Ohtani's presence is the key, as he is a countryman of Yamamoto's and a teammate of his in March's World Baseball Classic championship with Team Japan. The right-hander and Ohtani have dominated the rumor mill this offseason, and there are reportedly plenty of clubs pursuing Yamamoto's services on the open market. A two-time NPB MVP, Yamamoto, 25, worked to a dominant 1.21 ERA across 23 outings with the Orix Buffaloes last season.

Sat Sep 30 202310:39Freddie Freeman Pours In Three More Hits Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three runs scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the San Francisco Giants. Freeman scored a run after a first-inning single before whacking a solo shot in the third frame. He doubled and came around for another during the sixth on a J.D. Martinez homer to help the Dodgers pull away a bit. Another game with three knocks or greater raises the tally to 21 on the campaign for the seven-time All-Star, who absolutely crushed it in his second year with LA. Freeman is slashing a ludicrous .334/.412/.572 with 29 round-trippers, 102 RBI, 131 runs scored, and 23 stolen bases in 721 trips to the plate. He's one double short of being the first to reach 60 since 1936.

The 34-year-old All-Star is slashing .335/.413/.570 with 26 home runs, 93 RBI, and 19 stolen bases over 582 at-bats on the season. Enrique Hernandez is starting at first base in Freeman's place and batting fifth against Logan Gilbert and the M's.

Sat Aug 26 202300:57Freddie Freeman Amasses Four Hits In Victory
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and three runs scored in Friday's 7-4 win over the Boston Red Sox. It was just another day at the office for the hitting machine, as Freeman notched the fifth four-hit pursuit of his MVP-level campaign in this one. Besides that feat, the 33-year-old notably drove in a go-ahead run on a seventh-inning double. Freeman is giving Ronald Acuna Jr. a run for his money in the 2023 NL MVP race, slashing a formidable .341/.415/.580 with an MLB-leading 48 doubles, 23 home runs, 86 RBI, 107 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases through 505 at-bats.

Sun Aug 13 202310:06Freddie Freeman Fine After Hit-By-Pitch
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (knee) came out of Saturday's game versus the Colorado Rockies after taking a hit-by-pitch to his right knee in the seventh inning. He went 0-for-3 before his night ended. The 33-year-old was not pinch-run for, however, and felt much better after getting treatment following the contest. X-rays were deemed unnecessary, and it looks like Freeman is prepared to get right back into Sunday's lineup without potentially needing his first day off of the campaign. The fantasy superstar is hitting .342 with 28 home runs, an MLB-leading 43 doubles, 83 RBI, 101 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases in 532 plate appearances (116 games).

Wed Aug 2 202301:51Freddie Freeman Tallies Fourth Four-Hit Attack In Win
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 4-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base, and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. The 33-year-old would get busy after a first-inning flyout, leading off the fourth frame with a single which helped jump-start a four-run Dodgers surge. Freeman then doubled during the fifth before singling in the seventh, eventually coming around to score another run. The superstar then put a bow on his big night with an eighth-inning RBI single to provide some insurance, adding a swipe in the frame, too. It was Freeman's fourth four-hit effort of the year. MLB's doubles leader (36) has certainly been amazing all year, but Freeman is seriously raking of late. The three-time Silver Slugger is batting .425 (34-for-80) with seven home runs, eight doubles, and 20 RBI in his last 20 games.

Sat Jul 22 202312:28Freddie Freeman Drives In Three In Win Over Rangers
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman had a big offensive performance in Friday night's 11-5 win over the Texas Rangers. Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI, three runs scored, two walks and two strikeouts. What's new for Freeman? The 33-year-old seven-time All-Star just continues to hit for the Dodgers and fantasy managers. He's currently slashing .322/.405/.565 with a .970 OPS, 18 home runs, a league-leading 35 doubles, two triples, 67 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 81 runs scored in 96 games and a league-leading 442 plate appearances. Freeman has been even hotter in July, going 20-for-60 (.333) with four long balls, seven doubles, a triple, 14 RBI, one steal and 16 runs scored in 15 games. He's carrying fantasy clubs in 2023.

Tue Jul 18 202301:29Freddie Freeman Enjoys Three-Hit Effort In Win
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two runs scored in Monday's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. The 33-year-old singled and came around to score in the fourth inning before leading off the sixth frame with a triple, eventually crossing the plate once more. Freeman topped off a busy night at the dish with a seventh-inning double. On pace for his most stolen bases in a single year, the seven-time All-Star has thoroughly flourished as an elite five-category superstar this season. Freeman is slashing .318/.397/.555 with 17 home runs, an MLB-leading 33 doubles, 63 RBI, 12 swipes, and 74 runs scored over 371 at-bats in 2023. While Freeman has been sensational overall, he's now batting .375 with three homers, five doubles, one triple, nine RBI and one theft across his last eight outings (32 ABs).

Fri Jul 7 202301:02Freddie Freeman Stuffs The Stat Sheet In Win
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Freeman did a little bit of everything in this one, reminding everyone why he'll be starting in next week's All-Star game in Seattle. He put the Dodgers on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a two-run blast, his 15th of the season, off Johan Oviedo to score Mookie Betts. He would then provide an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh to score Betts again and give the Dodgers a 5-2 lead. The 33-year-old also swiped a bag in this one. For the season, Freeman is slashing an absurd .320/.397/.542 with 15 home runs, 57 RBI, and 12 stolen bases across 347 at-bats on the season. That'll do just nicely.

Sat Jun 24 202309:15Freddie Freeman’s Mediocre June Continues
Fantasy managers have become accustomed to multi-hit games and a .900 OPS from Los Angeles Dodgers first basemanFreddie Freeman, and he did just that and more in April and May. However, the month of June has been a slow one thus far for the three-time Silver Slugger. Freeman has multiple hits in just three of 18 games since the beginning of the month, and he's recorded just six extra-base hits (two doubles and four homers) in that span while walking eight times and striking out 17. That's an abnormal stretch for the Dodgers' two-hitter, largely due to an alarming 20% strikeout rate in June. That being said, Freeman's line drive rate (22.2%) and hard-hit rate (38.9%) help to dispel any panic. It's hard to believe fantasy managers can buy low on such a model of consistency, but perhaps this is the lone quiet span of the season for Freeman while he irons out a kink in his approach. Despite an 0-for-4 night on Friday, expect this studly first baseman to find his groove heading into the "Dog Days" of July. Overall, the 33-year-old is slashing .322/.421/.549 with 14 home runs, 47 RBI, 60 runs, and eight stolen bases over 344 plate appearances in 2023.

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk in a 9-0 shutout win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. The Dodgers were all over Aaron Nola in this one, jumping on him for six earned runs. Freeman did his part with an RBI single to score Mookie Betts in the top of the third inning. He later walked and came around to score on a J.D. Martinez home run in the top of the seventh. The 33-year-old veteran is now slashing a ridiculous .226/.411/.575 to go along with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, and eight stolen bases over 259 at-bats.

Sat Jun 3 202316:34Freddie Freeman Remains In The Lineup
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (neck) remains in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. The left-handed slugger continues to play despite dealing with neck stiffness over the last few days. The fact Freeman continues to play means that it's likely a minor issue. The 33-year-old saw his 20-game hitting streak come to an end on Friday. He'll bat second and cover first base versus right-hander Gerrit Cole on Saturday.

Wed May 31 202309:34Freddie Freeman Has Four-Hit Game Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 4-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-3 victory over the Washington Nationals. Freeman continues to rake at home this year, as his average at Dodger Stadium is now .390. He's hitting .344 with 10 home runs, 47 runs scored, 35 RBI, and six stolen bases overall this season. Only Ronald Acuna Jr. and Marcus Semien have more runs scored than Freeman entering play Wednesday. With a hit in 19 consecutive games, Freeman continues to show he's one of the premier players in fantasy baseball in his age-33 season.

Fri May 19 202301:41Freddie Freeman Belts 300th Career Homer
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman hit his 300th career home run on Thursday in a 16-8 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Freeman did it in style, too, mashing a grand slam to hit the milestone. He ended up going 2-for-5 with a homer, a triple, a run, and four RBI. He's having another stellar season, which is to be expected from the stalwart. He is slashing .313/.382/.536 with eight homers, 36 runs, 27 RBI, and six stolen bases. The lefty has an outside shot at a 20/20 season with 200+ combined runs/RBI and a .300+ AVG. With the increased steals, he has become one of the best five-category fantasy contributors.

Sat May 13 202311:51Freddie Freeman Hits Seventh Homer Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with his seventh home run of the season, a double, three RBI, a run scored and a walk on Friday night in the team's 4-2 win over the division-rival San Diego Padres. Freeman's power stroke has been solid so far in 2023, and he's currently hitting .297 (46-for-155) with 12 doubles, seven home runs, 20 RBI, five stolen bases and 31 runs scored in his first 39 games over 176 plate appearances. The six-time All-Star continues to be one of the best overall hitters in the game and is an elite must-start fantasy first baseman when he's in the lineup. In 10 games so far in May, the 33-year-old left-handed slugger has gone 13-for-42 (.310) with six doubles, three homers and 11 RBI.

Fri Apr 21 202312:16Freddie Freeman Steals His First Base Of The Year
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman swiped his first bag of the season in Thursday night's 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. At the plate, Freeman went hitless in four at-bats with one walk. While the 33-year-old left-handed slugger didn't get a hit in the game, he extended his on-base streak to six games with a free pass. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Freeman to best his career-high 13 stolen bases from a year ago, but it's nice to see him swipe a bag every now and then to add to his already high fantasy value on one of the best teams in the big leagues. Through his first 20 games of 2023, Freeman is hitting a strong .295 (23-for-78) with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBI, one steal and 16 runs scored.

Tue Apr 4 202312:28Freddie Freeman Has Big Game Monday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a walk in a 13-4 beatdown of the Colorado Rockies on Monday night. It's really no surprise that Freeman has gone 8-for-19 (.421) with a double to begin the season, but the left-handed slugger is still searching for his first home run and RBI on the season after five games. He's also scored four runs, walked four times and struck out three times in 23 plate appearances. The 33-year-old's home runs and RBI will come sooner than later for the Blue, so fantasy managers shouldn't be worried at all. Continue to start Freeman in all formats.

Sat Mar 18 202322:24Freddie Freeman Records Two Hits In Return To Lineup
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (hamstring) made his return to the team's Cactus League lineup as the designated hitter on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox and went 2-for-2 with a run scored and a walk in the team's 6-4 victory. The plan is for Freeman to play first base on Sunday after he was pulled from Team Canada's game in the World Baseball Classic earlier in the week due to a tight hamstring. The 33-year-old's injury was considered minor, and he's fully expected to be ready for Opening Day at the end of March. Heading into his second season with the Dodgers in 2023, Freeman should be considered an elite fantasy first baseman.
