Webster's strained right hip kept him out of Friday's preseason loss to the Wizards.
Webster has yet to make his preseason debut after suffering the hip injury earlier in training camp, and there appears to be some legitimate concern about the injury. Though he was able to log some non-contact work in Thursday's practice, Webster noted that he's still experiencing "significant pain" around the affected area, according to CSN Washington's J. Michael. While the ailment doesn't figure to result in Webster missing extensive regular-season action just yet, the Wizards are worried that the swingman's injury may linger over a long period of time, which could hinder his overall effectiveness when he's on the court.

Webster (hip) will not play in Tuesday's preseason game, J. Michael of CSN reports.
Webster is dealing with what Randy Wittman called a "strained hip," and the veteran will sit out Tuesday's exhibition opener. While the issue is minor, it's not overly encouraging for Webster, who dropped 20 points this offseason in an effort to relieve pressure from his joints and surgically repaired back.

Webster discarded 20 pounds this offseason to help alleviate the pressure on his joints and surgically-repaired back, Ben Mehic of Fansided reports.
Webster underwent the third back surgery of his career and was limited to 32 games last season. A dynamite three-point shooter prior to the latest surgery, Webster has completely transformed his habits in order to make an impact this season. At his peak with the Wizards, Webster was primarily a three-point specialist with a positive impact in the free-throw category. The loss of Paul Pierce and early-season uncertainty of Jared Dudley provides Webster the opportunity earn rotation minutes, especially as a stretch-four. He just needs to prove he can remain healthy.

Webster managed only 3.3 points (26% FG, 23% 3Pt, 75% FT), 1.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.2 steals in 11 minutes per game during 32 regular season games in 2014-15.
Webster missed the first two months of the season recovering from surgery after suffering a herniated disk in his lower back. In 2012-13 and 2013-14 he held a prominent role with the Wizards, playing 29 and 28 minutes per game respectively. However, the addition of veteran Paul Pierce and breakout year for sophomore Otto Porter helped spelled the end of Webster's place in the regular rotation. He appeared in just one postseason game, playing four minutes in the team's series-clinching blowout win versus the Raptors. Webster is on the books for a combined $11.4 million over the next two seasons.

Webster scored six points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT) with six rebounds, one assist and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.
Webster saw added playing time due to Bradley Beal leaving the game with a right ankle sprain. Should Beal miss time, Webster and Rasual Butler will pick up his minutes, but both are only options in deep leagues.
Wed Jan 28 201522:07Webster (knee) available for Wednesday's game at Phoenix
Webster (knee) is available for Wednesday's game at Phoenix.
After colliding knees with the Lakers' Jeremy Lin on Tuesday, Webster left the court and didn't return. It's uncertain if he'll actually take the court Wednesday, as he received two DNPs in five games leading up to Tuesday's contest.

Webster left Tuesday's game early after colliding with Jeremy Lin and hurting his knee.
Webster attempted to stay in the game, but he inevitably was taken off the floor by the Wizards' training staff. Webster doesn't have a history of knee injuries, and it may have just been a one-time thing, but we'll update as more information becomes available. If Webster is unable to play, Otto Porter Jr. will likely take over his minutes off the bench.

Webster didn't complete a minute of action Thursday in a loss to the Thunder, checking into the game very briefly and failing to do anything on the stat sheet.
Webster has been back from injury since Dec. 30, but has only played double-digit minutes in two games this season and has yet to score more than five points in a game. Rasual Butler and Otto Porter Jr. are taking up the majority of the minutes off the bench at small forward, which has taken Webster's role away from him in Washington.

Webster (back) scored just three points (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT) in 14 minutes of action in his first playing time of the season Tuesday.
The Wizards were down big to the Mavericks in this one, so Webster wasn't put in the greatest situation to start his season. Over time, expect him to gain a larger role in the offense off the bench. In 78 games for the Wizards last season, Webster averaged 9.7 points, 1.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds. His next chance to see game action is Friday versus the Bulls.
Sun Dec 28 201401:09Martell Webster:
Webster (Back) could possibly return during Washington's upcoming five game road trip, head coach Randy Wittman said in an ESPN report.
Because his return during the long road trip was qualified as "possible", there still isn't a ton of clarity as to when he'll return. Even when he does return, there's no guarantee that he'll contribute enough to be a viable fantasy option.

Webster (back) has been ruled out for the Wizards' Christmas Day matchup against the Knicks, CSN Washington reports.
The Wizards were optimistic Webster would be ready to make his season debut at some point this week following his return from the third back surgery of his career, but the nature of the team's schedule has prevented the swingman from logging a full-contact practice. Until coach Randy Wittman is able to gauge Webster's health during one of those sessions, he'll remain glued to the bench.

Webster (Back) did not play Tuesday night against the Bulls despite being a nearly full participant in Monday's practice.
Although he has been getting close to a return to game action, Webster was unable to go Tuesday against the Bulls. Rasual Butler and Otto Porter could see a decrease in minutes once Webster is healthy enough to return.

Webster (back) went through most of Monday's practice and is nearing a return to game action.
Webster is yet to play this season after undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disk back in June. The 28-year-old will likely need to get a few more full practices under his belt before the team considers bringing him back, but once he's ready, he should step in and contribute right away. Last season, Webster averaged 9.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from three. Upon his return, he'll compete with Otto Porter and Rasual Butler for time off the bench.
Tue Dec 2 201406:43Webster (back) still without update to return
Webster (back) is still without an update to return.
Webster has been rehabbing from a surgery from the offseason, and he was previously supposed to have an updated timetable around this time. Even when he returns, it will be hard for him to find minutes in the rotation as long as Bradley Beal, Paul Pierce, and Otto Porter are healthy.
Mon Nov 3 201414:01Webster (back) still rehabbing
Webster (back) is still rehabbing, Washington Post's Jorge Castillo reports.
He has yet to begin basketball activities, and the long end of his projected timetable will come to pass later this month.
Fri Jun 27 201414:43Martell Webster has lower back surgery
Martell Webster had successful microdisectomy surgery on Thursday to repair a herniated disc in his lower back.
Not good. He is expected to miss 3-5 months with the injury and could miss the start of the season. This will be his third back surgery and his back kept him off the court for significant time during his time with the Wolves earlier in his career. The Webster injury also makes bringing back Trevor Ariza even more important while perhaps Otto Porter will have to get his career off the ground.

Fri Mar 21 201400:29Martell Webster has minor knee issue
Martell Webster scored eight points with three boards and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes vs. the Blazers on Thursday.
He banged knees with Wesley Matthews in this game and it caused him to limp for a couple minutes. Webster did seem to shake it off and we probably wouldn't even mention it if not for Paul Millsap missing extended time earlier this season for his knee contusion on a similar-looking injury. Webster should be good to go for Friday vs. the Lakers.

Wed Mar 19 201401:54Martell Webster plays through toe injury
Martell Webster suffered an injury to his left big toe on Tuesday, but played through it and had nine points and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
He went to the locker room to have the injury treated, but was able to play through it. But as long as Trevor Ariza is healthy, Webster shouldn't be in fantasy lineups.
