The Detroit Pistons waived forward Danny Granger on Monday.Granger, 32, was acquired from the Phoenix Suns on July 9. The 10-year NBA veteran, who has appeared in 586 regular-season games (431 starts) with the Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat, owns averages of 16.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 31.5 minutes per game.

Granger (knee) isn't ready to participate in basketball activities during the Pistons' training camp, MLive.com's David Mayo reports.
Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said that Granger would continue to remain at his home in Phoenix, where he'll take part in rehab work on his own. Van Gundy didn't issue a timeline for the former All-Star's return to camp, but if Granger shows progress quickly in his rehab, he could join the Pistons at any point thereafter.
Thu Jul 2 201516:00Granger traded from Suns to Pistons on Thursday
Granger was traded from the Suns to the Pistons on Thursday, Yahoo! Sports reports. Marcus Morris and Reggie Bullock were also sent to the Pistons, and the Suns received a second-round pick and cap space in return.
Granger's salary is locked in for the 2015-16 season, and while the Pistons would love to have a healthy Granger from the last decade, they failed to acquire a time-traveling DeLorean in the deal, so the most likely outcome with Granger is that he'll twiddle his fingers on the Pistons' bench while perpetually rehabbing his knees until the Pistons decide to add him to another trade or outright waive him and eat the cap hit. Suffice to stay, it's a pipe dream to expect consistent fantasy value from Granger at this point in his career.
Wed Jun 17 201519:50Granger exercised player option for 2015-16 season
Granger exercised his player option for the 2015-16 season, the Suns Official Website reports.
Granger will return to Phoenix despite failing to play in a single game following an All-Star break trade from the Miami Heat. Granger dealt with a knee injury throughout the end of the 2014-15 season and he'll remain an injury concern coming into next season after playing less than 45 games in three straight seasons. Don't expect him to have much of a fantasy impact moving forward, as he'll likely remain a reserve playing limited minutes for the Suns.

Granger was traded from Miami to Phoenix after the All-Star break, where he failed to play a single game for the Suns. In 30 regular season games with Miami he averaged 6.3 points (40% FG, 36% 3Pt, 76% FT), 1.0 three-pointer, 0.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.4 steals in 20 minutes per game in 2014-15. He has a player option with the Suns for 2015-16.
Granger's season was a mess, as he dealt with various lingering injuries, and was inefficient in the few games he saw action. The small forward never even suited up for the Suns, as he sat out the rest of the year to tend to a lingering knee injury. At 32-years-old, he hasn't played more than 42 games in a season since 2011-12, as injuries have derailed his past three years in the NBA. Entering his 11th season, Granger hopes to turn his career around and return to top form, but his health issues have been surmounting for some time now. He has a player option as well, so his situation could change for the 2015-16 season, but at this point he is an afterthought for fantasy use.

Granger (knee) is still without an update on his status, and should be considered doubtful for upcoming games until further notice.
Granger has struggled to stay healthy for the past several seasons, and continues to deal with various ailments, most particularly on his knee. Previous reports said that there could be a chance he returns this season, but that news isn't too useful from a fantasy perspective. He's averaging 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 30 games this year, and he's not worth owning in a wide variety of leagues.
Tue Mar 10 201517:59Granger (knee) could play at some point this season
Granger (knee) could play at some point this season, but first he'll focus on getting fully healthy, the Arizona Republic reports.
Granger came to Phoenix from Miami at the deadline and originally considered seeking a buyout to sign on with a contender. After meeting with the Suns' heralded athletic staff, however, he decided he'll instead focus on returning to full health after undergoing a second knee surgery last summer. "I haven't returned to the level I was before but I don't think that's impossible to get back there," Granger said. "I'm only 31. There were times, even stretches when I was playing for Miami, I felt great, bouncy, my shot was going. And then the knee is always kind of just nagging at you. I'm thankful that I kept playing and I think I can play a lot longer." Whether Granger returns this season remains to be seen, and coach Jeff Hornacek indicated it could depend upon the team's playoff chase situation. "As we go on, if we're still in the race, yeah, why not get a veteran guy like that in there?" Hornacek said. "If somehow we're out of it, then maybe it makes more sense to play the young guys. Our thoughts right now are we're still in the playoff hunt and we're still going to go after it. If he can give us something toward the end there, maybe that happens."
Mon Mar 2 201518:20Granger remains on Suns' roster but he's not currently with team
Granger remains on the Suns' roster but he's not currently with the team, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
After being traded from Miami at the deadline, most expected Granger to be bought out. However, the buyout deadline has now passed, so it's unclear what the future holds for the veteran. The Suns have made it clear that they would prefer to play younger players, so Granger doesn't appear to have much value in any formats at this point.

Granger, who was traded from the Heat to the Suns on Thursday, is not expected to play in Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Granger and the Suns may discuss a buyout, as the team appears to have plenty of better options on the wing.

Granger was dealt to the Suns on Thursday, the Arizona Republic reports.
Granger has been in and out of the rotation for Miami this season, and it's unclear what his future holds with the Suns. He could assume a veteran's role off the bench, though some reports have suggested he could be waived in short order.

Granger played a season-high 36 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday en route to 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists, and one steal as a starter.
This game might be the tipping point for Granger in this point of the season, especially since Dwyane Wade is expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Friday's game against the Mavericks will be crucial for determining his value moving forward, but if he plays around 36 minutes once again, the veteran should probably be plucked from the waiver wire as a flier in standard leagues.
Tue Jan 27 201518:06Granger will likely get start at small forward Tuesday
Granger will likely get the start at small forward Tuesday, the Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
Luol Deng is out with an injury, so Granger will get the start, but he should still be viewed as a low-end option in daily leagues, as there's very limited upside here, even if he approaches 30 minutes of playing time.

Granger returned to the bench Friday, scoring six points (3-3 FG) and adding two rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 13 minutes against the Pacers.
Even on an increased workload, Granger was only useful in very deep formats. He last scored double-digit points was in 2014. It's only been a couple years since Granger was discussed as a possible first round pick in some fantasy drafts, but he no longer maintains any of that value.

Granger started at small forward against the Hornets on Wednesday in place of Luol Deng (illness). The short-term starter played for 20 minutes and contributed just three points, one rebound, one steal, and one block.
Granger is a limited option even when he's inserted into the starting lineup. It's certainly possible that he'll continue to start for as long as Deng is sidelined, although that doesn't mean that he's worth the play in most leagues.
Wed Jan 21 201518:41Granger will get start Wednesday against Hornets
Granger will get the start Wednesday against the Hornets.
Luol Deng is out with an injury, which will allow for Granger to be more involved than he typically is. He could be a good source of three-point shooting, but his production in the other categories will be limited.

Granger scored three points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), to go along with three assists, four rebounds, and a block in 31 minutes on Sunday.
Granger played big minutes, but didn't do much with them in his time on court. He had a three-game stretch of good production earlier, however he's prone to having disappointing nights like this. This, along with the fact that he's injury prone, make him a guy with little upside that only should be owned in the deepest of leagues.

Granger had a season-high 18 points (7-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) Saturday against the Grizzlies to go along with three rebounds in 28 minutes.
Granger played a season-high 28 minutes Saturday as he posted his best performance of the season. He has only played in 10 games this season and Saturday was the first time he's scored in double figures on the year. His sample size this year makes it difficult to tell whether Saturday was an aberration or a sign of things to come, and because of his injury history, he's not a safe bet for your lineup.

Granger didn't complete a full minute of action Friday against the Wizards, despite the fact that he was healthy and available, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Granger has played in just seven games all season. Luol Deng and James Ennis both played over Granger for the Heat, who are a relatively healthy team at this time outside of Chris Bosh's injury. It doesn't appear as if Granger has a solid enough role with the Heat to be a reliable fantasy option.

Granger (illness) participated in shootarouond and is expected to be available Friday.
Miami has been hit with a rough patch of injuries recently, and it's gotten to the point where they need all the healthy players they can get. He normally plays under 20 minutes per game, but because of those injuries Granger could potentially see a little increase in that playign time. Any increase he would see to his fantasy value would likely not be enough to warrant starting him in standard leagues though.

Granger (illness) sat out his second straight game on Wednesday.
Granger has held little value this season thus far. He is averaging only 17 minutes per game. He holds little value in standard leagues.
