It's unclear exactly what caused Amundson to miss Tuesday's session, but he'll likely be back with the team later this week. While the veteran may have some of the most luscious hair in the league, he's unlikely to hold much fantasy value this season.

Amundson skipped the morning practice Wednesday due to a sore lower back, but he's expected to participate in the Knicks' night practice, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Amundson's issue appears to be minor given his expected return to the night session, but back injuries can have a tendency to recur. When healthy, Amundson will likely see limited minutes off the bench in 2015-16.

Amundson had 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 FT) and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes in the loss to the Bucks on Friday.

Amundson was supplanted in the starting lineup by Cole Aldrich, but had one of his better games as a Knicks (and his second double-double). He could be a nice cheap DFS play on Saturday against the Magic.

Amundson started in Thursday's game against the Lakers but only spent 20 minutes on the court en route to four points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two blocks.

Amundson managed to have a well-rounded game despite his limited time on the court. It remains unlikely that coach Derek Fisher will keep the same starting five for the rest of the season, so there's no guarantee regarding Amundson's value moving forward.

Amundson (back) returned to action Monday against the Nuggets and posted two points, four rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 14 minutes of action.

Amundson is returning from a one-game absence, and he didn't appear to be hampered by the injury. Still, he's averaging just 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks over the last four games, and remains a deep-league option in fantasy.

New York has been unpredictable with their minutes this season and it's hard to really say who they will feature from week to week. Because of this it's improbable that Amundson can sustain this going forward.
