Fri Oct 26 201212:58Heat waive Rodney Carney, Jarvis Varnado
Heat waived G/F Rodney Carney and F Jarvis Varnado.

Fri Sep 28 201208:48Heat add Rodney Carney for training camp
Heat sign G/F Rodney Carney to a non-guaranteed contract.
Carney was signed for the 20th and final roster spot in training camp, but he is the definition of a long shot to make the team. Carney spent time playing in China last season.

Free agent forward Rodney Carney was signed to a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
It was reported that he was signed on Thursday, but the transaction didn't become official until today due to the All-Star break. He will come off the bench and is unlikely to hold much fantasy value, if any.

Thu Feb 17 201120:08Grizzlies sign Carney to 10 day contract
The Memphis Grizzlies have signed free agent forward Rodney Carney to a 10 day contract.
He is on the team simply for extra depth while Rudy Gay is out. Carney's fantasy impact and value will be nil.

Thu Feb 17 201118:45Carney on Grizzlies' radar
The Grizzlies are considering signing free agents Rodney Carney, Devin Brown or Othyus Jeffers to a 10-day contract, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The Grizz need a healthy swingman to cover themselves while Rudy Gay is out, but no free agent is going to get any real burn. They'll be fine with a three-man rotation of Sam Young, Tony Allen and O.J. Mayo.

Tue Jan 4 201115:57Rodney Carney waived by Warriors
The Warriors have released swingman Rodney Carney.
Golden State sheds Carney's contract prior to its becoming fully guaranteed, and he won't be the final casualty. Teammate Acie Law, who is battling a wrist injury, is also in danger of being waived.
Sun Dec 19 201003:25Carney (foot) returns to action Saturday
Rodney Carney (foot) returned to action on Saturday, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, no assists, and one steal in 18 minutes.
He was on the floor during crunch time and hit some key shots, but unfortunately his fantasy prospects are greatly limited with or without Stephen Curry (ankle) in the lineup. If he plays this well a few more times, he could be worth a look in deeper leagues.

Sat Dec 18 201021:08Carney (foot) will give it a go on Saturday
Rodney Carney (foot) will try to play on Saturday against the Blazers.
He will not likely have a big impact even if he does play, and by the time he gets healthy Stephen Curry will likely be back, eliminating any chance for fantasy value.

Sun Dec 12 201019:52Rodney Carney (foot) closer to return
Rodney Carney, who has missed the past four games because of a left foot sprain, participated in parts of practice on Sunday.
Carney remains day-to-day and shouldn't be looked to for fantasy value, even though he might get extra playing time while Stephen Curry is out.

Fri Dec 3 201016:23Carney sidelined by sprained foot
Warriors swingman Rodney Carney didn't practice on Friday due to a left foot sprain.
Carney has scored double-figures just twice this season and hasn't played 20+ minutes in any game. But for the sake of Golden State's depth chart, let's hope this isn't too serious.

Tue Nov 23 201003:33Carney scores 16 points off the bench
Rodney Carney scored 16 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the field (including two threes) with no rebounds, no assists, and a steal in 19 minutes.
This line has fluke written all over it, and once David Lee (elbow) and Brandan Wright (back) return he'll have even less chance to make his mark. He belongs on waivers unless you're in a 30-team league.
Thu Nov 4 201003:52Carney quiet in start for Curry
Rodney Carney started in place of Stephen Curry (ankle) Wednesday, but had just seven points in 19 minutes.
Monta Ellis, Dorell Wright and Reggie Williams stole his thunder tonight.
Wed Nov 3 201009:24Rodney Carney to draw start Wednesday night?
Rodney Carney ran with the first team at shooting guard in practice Tuesday.
With Steph Curry (ankle) out, the Warriors have apparently decided to kick Monta Ellis to point guard. Jeremy Lin is a backup at best and Reggie Williams is too far out of position in that role. So enter Carney, a highly athletic swingman that has 3-point range. We wouldn't add him Carney with Curry expected back on Sunday at the latest, but if you're desperate for short-term help Carney is set for some real minutes tonight.

Sun Oct 17 201005:33Carney makes Warriors debut vs. Blazers
Rodney Carney made his Warriors debut on Saturday against the Blazers, scoring nine points on 3-of-5 shooting (including a three) with one rebound and no assists in 22 minutes.
He had missed much of the preseason with a hip injury, but that looks to be behind him. He probably wouldn't have gotten as much run had Reggie Williams not been out due to a groin injury, and he isn't worth consideration on draft day.
Wed Sep 8 201015:30Warriors officially sign Rodney Carney
The Warriors have announced the signing of F Rodney Carney.
Far crazier things have happened than Carney finding fantasy value in Golden State at some point this season, but he should belong on waiver wires at the outset of the season.

Wed Sep 8 201010:54Warriors confirm signing Rodney Carney
The Warriors have confirmed that they will soon sign forward Rodney Carney -- he may even be presented to the media on Wednesday.
The No. 16 overall pick in 2006, Carney averaged 4.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in limited minutes last season. The 6'7" swingman has some versatility and 3-point range but isn't likely to offer reliable fantasy value.
Thu Sep 2 201015:02Report: Carney ready to sign with Warriors
Free agent forward Rodney Carney sounds likely to sign a contract with the Warriors soon.
He's bounced around the league since 2006 looking for a full-time starting job, but has yet to find it. But he seems just like the type of player Don Nelson could turn into a two-week superstar at some point. In other words, don't be surprised if Carney suddenly becomes a hot pickup this season, although it's not likely to be a very long run.
