The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired guard Randy Foye from the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, adding a veteran presence to the league's second-highest scoring offense, according to multiple reports.CBS Sports reported the Thunder traded guard D.J. Augustin and forward Steve Novak, along with two-second round picks. Yahoo Sports reported the Nuggets may attempt to include Novak in another trade before the deadline.According to Yahoo, the trade will save $8 million in luxury taxes for the Thunder, whose tax bill will drop from $22.1 million to 14.1 million.Foye has averaged career lows of six points and 19.8 minutes per game in 54 games for the Nuggets. He also has shot a career-low 35.1 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from 3-point range this season as Denver attempts to integrate a younger roster.The 33-year-old has averaged 11 points and is a career 40 percent shooter in 656 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz and Denver. He was obtained by Denver in July 2013 as part of a three-team deal that sent Andre Iguodala to the Golden State Warriors and is the final year of a three-year contract.Augustin provides Denver with a much-needed veteran reserve guard as Jameer Nelson may undergo wrist surgery. The Thunder obtained him at last year's deadline from the Detroit Pistons and in 34 games this season, Augustin averaged 4.2 points. Augustin, 29, has averaged 9.7 points and 3.9 assists in 545 games for the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Pistons, Toronto Raptors and Oklahoma City. He is in the final year of a two-year contract signed with Detroit in July 2014.Novak appeared in only seven games this season after also being acquired by Oklahoma City at last year's deadline in the same three-team trade as Augustin. He has averaged 4.7 points and shot 43.2 percent from 3-point range in 456 games for the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, Utah, Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City.Novak's best season was 2011-12 with New York when he led the league in 3-point shooting at 47.2 percent.
