Thu Apr 419:45Mike Conley Removed From Injury Report
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (rest) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns. The veteran guard was held out of Wednesday's game for rest purposes. However, Conley will return on Friday and is expected to have his normal role in the rotation. The Wolves are likely just resting Conley in order to try and keep him refreshed ahead of the postseason. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable getting Conley back in their lineups on Friday. Nickeil Alexander-Walker is expected to come off the bench with Conley returning.

Wed Apr 314:59Mike Conley Resting Against Raptors
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (rest) is out for Wednesday's meeting with the Toronto Raptors. The 52-23 T-Wolves will sit Conley down against a depleted Raptors bunch, and the veteran floor general is likely to return for Friday's showdown with the Phoenix Suns. Jordan McLaughlin is shooting the lights out lately, burying 65.7% of his three-pointers over his last 15 games with averages of 5.9 points, 2.7 dimes, and 2.3 triples in 15.1 minutes during this period. His hot streak could earn him a trip to Minnesota's starting group at point guard on Wednesday, making McLaughlin an interesting DFS choice in a cupcake matchup against a Toronto defense yielding the seventh-most points per game (118.5).

Mon Feb 1919:44Mike Conley Gets Two-Year Extension
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley will stick around with the team for at least two more seasons. The veteran guard signed a two-year, $21 million extension with the organization on Monday. This is a team-friendly deal that will allow the 36-year-old to possibly finish out his career in Minnesota. Through two seasons, Conley is averaging 11.7 points, 6.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 2.3 triples across 29.7 minutes. Conley has been consistent throughout his career and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Wed Jan 3115:28Mike Conley Gets Shots Up At Shootaround
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (hamstring) was getting some shots up at Wednesday morning's shootaround. Conley has missed four of the team's past five games and is still officially listed as questionable with soreness in his left hamstring for Wednesday's contest versus the Dallas Mavericks, but his presence at shootaround is a positive sign. If the 36-year-old veteran floor general continues to sit out on Wednesday, look for the versatile Nickeil Alexander-Walker to once again shift over to point guard in Minnesota's starting lineup. In five games without Conley this season, Alexander-Walker is averaging a decent 12.4 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 2.6 threes, and 1.2 steals for the T-Wolves.

Mon Jan 2918:59Mike Conley Downgraded To Out Against Thunder
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (hamstring) will miss his second consecutive game with left hamstring soreness after he was downgraded from questionable to out on Monday. The veteran point guard has been quite healthy this year, which comes as a pleasant surprise given his injury history throughout his career. With hamstring soreness, the team seems to always take a cautious stance because that can turn into a lengthy absence very quickly. While he's out, Nickeil Alexander-Walker should move into the starting lineup again and could be a solid streaming option in deeper leagues. It could be an uphill battle against a very good Oklahoma City Thunder team, so he's not recommended in smaller leagues.

Mon Jan 2910:30Mike Conley Questionable Monday
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley (hamstring) is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Thunder. The veteran is having trouble with a tight hamstring and could be unavailable for the fourth time in five games. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has done a good job as Conley's replacement in the starting unit and should be on fantasy managers' radars. He's averaged 11.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in the three recent games Conley has missed.

Sat Jan 2720:10Mike Conley Unavailable On Saturday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The veteran guard has now missed three of the last four games. Nickeil Alexander-Walker is expected to move into the starting five with Conley out. He'll be worth a look as a deep league streaming option. Jordan McLaughlin and Shake Milton should see additional minutes off the bench. However, neither of them will likely do enough to warrant streaming on Saturday.

Wed Jan 2418:03Mike Conley Out With Illness
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch says guard Mike Conley (illness) is out on Wednesday versus the Washington Wizards. Downgraded from questionable to out while under the weather on Wednesday, Conley sets his sights toward returning on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets for the second outing of Minnesota's four-game road trip after missing Monday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets for rest purposes. Nickeil Alexander-Walker would figure to stay in the T-Wolves' starting lineup at the point, logging a season-high 18 points with four treys in 30 minutes during Monday's spot start. Anthony Edwards matched a season high by dishing out 11 assists against the Hornets and should function as Minny's primary facilitator on Wednesday.

Wed Jan 2415:25Mike Conley Downgraded To Questionable
The Minnesota Timberwolves have added guard Mike Conley (illness) to the injury report and downgraded him to questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Washington Wizards. Conley appeared to be good to go after dodging Minnesota's initial injury report on Tuesday, but he's come down with an illness as of Wednesday morning. Look for the veteran point guard's status to be updated closer to Wednesday's tip-off, which comes early enough at 7:00 p.m. EST for DFS players to be able to adjust their lineups accordingly. If Conley's illness proves to be enough to hold him out of action against a pitiful Wizards team, Nickeil Alexander-Walker would be in line for a second consecutive start at the one after playing 30 minutes when Conley rested in Monday's upset loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

Tue Jan 2319:05Minnesota Removes Mike Conley From Injury Report
The Minnesota Timberwolves have removed Mike Conley (rest) from their injury report ahead of Wednesday's tilt against the Washington Wizards. Conley rested for the second time this year in Tuesday's shocking home loss to the Charlotte Hornets, but he'll be back in Minnesota's lineup on Wednesday. The former All-Star floor general is bringing in top-75 fantasy numbers in nine-category leagues as a reliable two-way presence at the point for the first-place T-Wolves, but he has scored in single digits during eight of his last 10 outings. Conley hopes Wednesday's soft matchup against a 7-35 Wizards team gets him back on track. Nickeil Alexander-Walker posted a season-high 18 points and drained four triples in 30 minutes during Tuesday's spot start at the one, but expect him to revert to Minny's second unit on Wednesday.

Mon Jan 2215:22Mike Conley Resting Against Hornets
The Minnesota Timberwolves are listing guard Mike Conley (rest) as out for Monday's contest versus the Charlotte Hornets. Conley last sat out on Jan. 10 against the Boston Celtics for rest purposes as well, and Minnesota is opting to keep the veteran floor general out against a 9-31 Hornets team. The T-Wolves have another cushy draw on tap for Wednesday when they meet the 7-35 Washington Wizards in D.C., but fantasy managers should still expect Conley back for that one. Three-and-D swingman Nickeil Alexander-Walker drew the spot start at the point when Conley was last out, supplying a full stat line with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, three triples, one steal, and one block in a season-high 40 minutes during that Jan. 10 meeting. Jordan McLaughlin is also in line for an uptick in minutes from Minny's second unit.

Thu Jan 1119:20Minnesota Clears Mike Conley From Injury Report
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (rest) isn't spotted on the team's injury report leading into Friday's matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. Minnesota gave Conley, who had participated in all of their 36 games this season, a night off for Wednesday's loss to the Boston Celtics, but they will have him available on Friday. Disruptive defender Nickeil Alexander-Walker filled the void in head coach Chris Finch's starting backcourt against the Celtics, notching 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, three treys, one steal, and one block in Wednesday's 40-minute spot start. Look for NAW to return to the bench and lose fantasy value on Friday. Kyle Anderson has a chance to remain in the first unit, however, with the 'Wolves listing Rudy Gobert (hip) as questionable after sitting out on Wednesday.

Wed Jan 1015:46Minnesota Resting Mike Conley Wednesday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (rest) will sit out Wednesday's duel with the Boston Celtics for maintenance purposes. Conley has been available for all 36 of Minnesota's games this year, so he will get a breather on the second half of a back-to-back after logging his third double-double of the campaign in Tuesday's win over the Orlando Magic. It's been a workmanlike season for the 36-year-old former All-Star during his first full year in Minny, attaining top-75 value in nine-category fantasy leagues on 11.2 points, 6.3 assists, 2.4 threes, and 1.0 steals per game while going 48-for-51 at the free-throw line overall. Look for Conley to return on Friday versus the Portland Trail Blazers and Anthony Edwards to assume primary ball-handling and facilitating duties on Wednesday. Jordan McLaughlin could draw the spot start at the point, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker should also get more run.

Wed Oct 25 202318:32Mike Conley Healthy For Wednesday's Game
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley (illness) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Toronto Raptors. Conley sat out last Thursday's exhibition finale with an illness, after his passive three-game preseason showed averages of 4.7 points (2.0 field-goal attempts) and 2.7 assists across 14.4 minutes. Look for the trusty 37-year-old veteran to build on last season's successful post-deadline transition to Minnesota, where he supplied 14.0 points, 5.0 dimes (1.2 turnovers), 2.4 threes on 42.0% shooting from beyond the arc, and 1.2 steals during 31.4 minutes per game. In a talented Wolves lineup, Conley should be a dependable back-end choice at point guard for fantasy managers who missed out on other early-round picks.

Wed Apr 12 202309:57Mike Conley Knocks Down Six Threes In Loss To Lakers
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley was the second-leading scorer for the team in their overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. While Anthony Edwards struggled and the team was missing two of their starters, Conley was one of the supporting cast members to step up. The 16th-year vet posted 23 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block as he shot 7-for-11 overall and 6-for-8 from three. He's going to be an important part of the offense if they want to win their next play-in game and make it into the eighth seed to take on Denver.

Fri Feb 10 202316:17Mike Conley Available To Make Timberwolves Debut On Friday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley is officially available to make his debut on just the third team in his career on Friday. His fit alongside Anthony Edwards and eventually Karl-Anthony Towns seems, in theory, to be better than D'Angelo Russell. So far this season, while his scoring has been at a career low, he's averaged a career-best 7.7 assists per game. That mark could even increase with better offensive players around him in Minnesota.

Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Feb 9 202322:16Russell Westbrook Traded To Jazz - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Russell Westbrook experiment in Los Angeles has been less than ideal over the past two years and has officially come to an end. With the West stocking up everywhere, the Lakers knew they had to make a splash in order to make a push to the playoffs. The Lakers executed a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves, involving a total of eight players and multiple draft picks Wednesday night. The Lakers sent Russell Westbrook, Juan Tuscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt while also acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz also sent Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves while accumulating even more draft capital. So just what is the fantasy basketball fallout of this blockbuster trade? Let's examine how each of the teams and players in the deal may be affected going forward.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is expected to be bought out from Utah and enter free agency. There are already rumors of teams interested in the veteran point guard, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Chicago Bulls. If Westbrook were to be claimed, he would likely be given a prominent role immediately given these three teams are all lacking in the point guard position. Westbrook's caveat has always been his personality fit so it remains to be seen how well he can mesh with his new team if he is claimed.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Lakers

The Lakers get some much-needed spacing and size with the additions of Russell, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. Russell is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three while averaging 17.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. Russell should absorb Westbrook's minutes and will likely start at point guard over ... [More]
Wed Feb 8 202321:29Mike Conley Dealt To The Timberwolves
The Timberwolves acquired guard Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker from Utah on Wednesday as part of a three-team deal. In addition, Utah will receive Russell Westbrook, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones, while the Lakers will get D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt. Conley has averaged 10.7 points and a career-high 7.7 assists in 43 games this season. Although his best days are probably behind him, a change of scenery may do him some good. With that said, the 35-year-old has had issues staying healthy throughout his career, which is never beneficial for fantasy managers. Conley's decreased three-point shooting and scoring output has also kept him out of many starting lineups.

Fri Jan 13 202320:15Mike Conley Rested On Friday
Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley will be rested for Friday's clash with Orlando. It's the first leg of a back-to-back for the team and Utah is keeping the veteran floor general fresh for Saturday's matchup against Philadelphia. Conley has had an up-and-down ride in Utah this season but is averaging a career-high 7.5 assists, to go along with 10.1 points and 1.0 steals. Collin Sexton (hamstring) is back from a five-game absence Friday and is a strong candidate to start. However, he is returning with a minutes restriction and might not be able to make a big enough impact to please fantasy managers. Conley's absence should also give Malik Beasley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker an opportunity to pick up extra work.
