Wed Oct 3 201210:31Julian Wright signs deal to play in Israel
Julian Wright has signed with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel.
Wright was close to a deal in late September and the move is now official. The No. 13 overall pick of the 2007 draft will likely have a larger role overseas than he's had in his brief NBA career.

Thu Sep 27 201208:23Report: Julian Wright close to deal in Israel
Julian Wright is close to signing a deal in Israel.
Wright would play for Maccabi Rishon LeZion. Wright was expected to play for the Nets summer league team, but he wound up hurting his leg and never suited up. The No. 13 pick of the 2007 draft spent part of last season playing in the D-League.

Sun Jul 8 201210:26Julian Wright (leg) to skip Summer League
Julian Wright will not play for the Nets during Summer League due to a strained tendon in his leg.
The injury shouldn't keep Wright sidelined for long, but it hurts his chances of earning another NBA contract after spending the 2011-12 season in the D-League. Even if he does make an NBA roster, he's not worthy of fantasy attention.

Wed Jun 13 201209:56Julian Wright using D-League for improvement
Julian Wright will play for the Brooklyn Nets in summer league.
Wright, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2007 draft, spent last season playing for the Austin Toros, where he averaged 15.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. "For myself, it was comforting to know I have skills and have what it takes," he said. He credited his success in the D-League for resurrecting his career, but he'll still have to prove that his athleticism will translate to success at the NBA level.

Sat Feb 25 201210:59Julian Wright signs D-League contract
Julian Wright, the No. 13 pick in the 2007 draft, has signed a D-League contract.
While in Toronto last season, Wright griped about playing time and soon found himself out of a job. He's an athletic 6'8" SF and could certainly earn a spot on an NBA roster, but he's not worth monitoring in fantasyland.

Wed Jun 29 201110:26Julian Wright won't get a QO
The Raptors will not extend a qualifying offer to Julian Wright, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Wright was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2007 draft thanks to his athleticism at 6-8/235. Since then, he's made more waves while complaining about playing time than doing anything on the court.

Sat Mar 26 201119:51Julian Wright available on Saturday
Julian Wright, who refused to enter Friday's game, is available for Saturday night.
The matter was handled internally, but Wright isn't getting enough minutes to matter.

Sat Mar 26 201110:50Raptors' Julian Wright refuses to enter game
Raptors SF Julian Wright refused to enter Friday's blowout loss in the third quarter.
"I asked (Wright) to go in, and he didn't go in," Triano said. "I know he went to the washroom just before that. I don't know if he wasn't feeling well. I still haven't talked to him." Speculation is that Wright was upset about only be asked to play once the game was out of hand -- if that is true, he'll surely face punishment from the team.

Tue Jan 25 201100:16Wright nears double-double in start at SF
Julian Wright started at small forward for injured Linas Kleiza (knee), scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with nine rebounds, one assist, and two blocks in 41 minutes.
As you can see, his per-minute numbers aren't exactly great, but he could be worth a look for spot-duty in deeper leagues as long as Kleiza is out. That said, he could just as easily sink you with a bad outing, so be careful.
Mon Jan 17 201117:45Julian Wright makes rare start for Raptors
Raptors forward Julian Wright made his first start of the season on Monday, posting 11 points and six rebounds in 28 minutes.
Toronto only had nine healthy players after Linas Kleiza (knee) was ruled out, which necessitated Wright's rare start. As this line indicates, he's probably not worth picking up unless Kleiza's absence becomes prolonged.
Wed Jan 5 201122:37Julian Wright out of nowhere for 15 points
Julian Wright came off the bench Wednesday and hit 7-of-9 shots for 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a steal in his first nice line of the season.
He played 31 minutes, 10 more than Linas Kleiza, and looked very good. It's too early to call him a fantasy pick up though, as he'd scored a total of 69 points on the season coming in. Put him on your radar.
Wed Aug 11 201015:23Julian Wright traded to Raptors
Swingman Julian Wright was traded from the Hornets to the Raptors on Wednesday.
Wright wasn't happy with his role in New Orleans and refused to even play in Summer League this year, so a change of scenery was to be expected. He'll join a corp of swingmen in Toronto that includes Linas Kleiza, Sonny Weems, and DeMar DeRozan.
Fri Jul 2 201009:41Hornets' Wright won't play in summer league
Hornets wingman Julian Wright is refusing to play for the Hornets summer league team, despite the wishes of new coach Monty Williams.
"You can't make any of those guys play," Williams said. "So it's on him. It's something that will tell me a lot about his approach." Wright may have already been on the trading block due to gripes about a lack of playing time, as well as poor production. And refusing to go to summer league is probably Rule No. 1 on how to earn less playing time from the start. Our guess is the Hornets are ready to ship him to the highest bidder, which is probably why he's refusing to go in the first place.

Fri Apr 16 201013:58Wright on the trading block?
Julian Wright could be on the trading block this summer, speculates the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Wright has made it clear that he hasn't been happy with the playing time he's received during the first three seasons of his career. He's set to earn just $2.858 million next season, enhancing his trade value. The athletic swingman would be worth a flier for plenty of teams willing to bet on Wright benefiting from a change of scenery.

Sun Apr 11 201023:03Wright scores season-high 16 points vs. MIN
Julian Wright scored a season-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 24 minutes off the bench on Sunday.
We've seen too much of Wright's woeful production to fall for a line like this, even if it didn't come against the hapless Wolves in a blowout win. If he doesn't refine his game, he will run out of time to put his athleticism to use in the NBA.
