RHP J.C. Ramirez has been diagnosed with a partially torn UCL, becoming the fourth Angels pitcher with that diagnosis in the past two years. According to the Los Angeles Times, he will opt for a stem-cell injection instead of Tommy John surgery.

RHP JC Ramirez was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to create room on the 40-man roster. Ramirez was put on the disabled list Aug. 21 with a strained right elbow.

RHP JC Ramirez was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday because of a strained right elbow. Ramirez had to leave Saturday's game in Baltimore in the sixth inning with what he described initially as a tight forearm. Ramirez has not had an MRI exam yet and there currently is no timetable for his return. He was scheduled to start Thursday's game against Texas, but the club will have to find another starter for the game. One candidate is Troy Scribner. who is currently at Triple-A Salt Lake but is 2-0 with a 3.46 ERA in four games (two starts) with the Angels. Ramirez has been the club's most consistent starter this season, his 11 victories leading the team.

RHP JC Ramirez had to leave the game Saturday in the sixth inning with right forearm irritation. He is scheduled for an MRI exam on Monday. "JC feels a little bit better today which is a good sign," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We'll get it evaluated tomorrow and have a determination on just exactly what we are dealing with the time frame might be. Just have to take it one step at a time." Ramirez is 11-10 with a 4.15 ERA.
