Thu Apr 6 202310:48Time To Hang It Up: Five NBA Players That Should Retire After The Season
Basketball is a fast-paced game. While the court's dimensions are smaller than baseball and football fields, there is no room to relax because players must exert effort on offense and defense. NBA's Advanced Stats reveal that LaMelo Ball trumps other ballers in the distance covered, averaging 2.77 miles per game. Fred VanVleet is not far behind at 2.76.Therefore, basketball players must be in good condition to render significant minutes. Conversely, injuries are also a dime a dozen because of the extensive regular season. Failing to stay in shape could mean reduced playing time or an abrupt end to their career. But at some point, Father Time wins, no matter how much a player wants to delay the inevitable. These players have rendered extensive NBA careers but are far from the peak of their capabilities. Sadly, retirement after the 2022-23 season is a strong possibility because they are not steady contributors anymore or hardly step into the court. However, their younger teammates should pick their brains and learn from their limitless wisdom.

Thaddeus Young

Young won the NBA Hustle Award during the 2020-21 season thanks to his accumulated hustle stats like taking screens and diving for loose balls. But that recognition is a nice consolation for a man who nearly averaged a double-double (15.1 points, nine rebounds) for the 2015-16 season with the Brooklyn Nets.https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1612227070108516355The 16-year veteran has been touted as a do-it-all player on both ends. Unfortunately, his production has significantly dropped in his second season with the Toronto Raptors. He is averaging only 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game through March 11. He hasn't played since, even if he is on the active roster, because of ... [More]

Sat Mar 11 202318:31Goran Dragic To Play On Saturday
Milwaukee Bucks guard Goran Dragic (knee) will suit up for Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The 36-year-old is set to make his team debut, but he isn't expected to have a huge role in the rotation. Jrue Holiday is healthy and will handle a majority of the point guard minutes. Dragic should compete with Jevon Carter for backup point guard minutes. It's unlikely to be enough to warrant rostering Dragic in 12-team formats.

Tue Feb 28 202317:10Bulls Are Waiving Goran Dragic
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic is reportedly getting waived on Tuesday while he wasn't traveling with the team on their current road trip due to a knee injury. Dragic was rumored to be on the trading block and the next to be waived for a while now, so this news doesn't come as a huge surprise. His minutes were already diminishing and the addition of Patrick Beverley took even more opportunities away from Dragic even if he was healthy. There hasn't been any talk of any teams targeting the 36-year-old now that he's available.

Mon Feb 27 202314:12Goran Dragic Won't Travel With Team
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) won't travel with the team for the upcoming road trip, according to head coach Billy Donovan. The veteran guard has missed the last four games due to left knee soreness. It appears he's going to miss even more time due to this injury. The Bulls don't exactly need Dragic right now due to the addition of Patrick Beverley. Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, and Beverley will take over the point guard duties while Dragic is out. Even when healthy, Dragic won't have a big enough role to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.

Sun Feb 26 202302:52Goran Dragic Sitting Out Again On Sunday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) is out again on Sunday versus Washington. The veteran will now miss his fourth consecutive contest because of left knee soreness. However, with Patrick Beverley, Ayo Dosunmu, and Alex Caruso in the equation, Dragic's absence won't mean much to fantasy managers.

Sat Feb 25 202318:19Goran Dragic Misses Saturday's Practice
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) was unable to suit up for practice on Saturday. The veteran guard has missed three straight games, including two games before the All-Star break. That being said, Dragic could be limited if he does end up suiting up for Sunday's matchup versus the Washington Wizards. Honestly, it might be tough for Dragic to carve out a role for himself with Patrick Beverley on the team now. Both Ayo Dosunmu and Beverley will absorb a majority of the point guard minutes. That being said, Dragic can be left on the waiver wire regardless of his health.

Fri Feb 24 202318:29Goran Dragic Won't Play Against The Nets
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) won't play on Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets. The veteran has a sore left knee, so he'll now miss his third straight contest. Dragic has averaged only 6.4 points in 15.4 minutes per game this season, meaning he wouldn't have drawn much interest on the fantasy end anyway. However, his absence could allow Patrick Beverley and Alex Caruso to get more action, although both are risky fantasy options.

Thu Feb 16 202318:43Goran Dragic Ruled Out For Thursday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The veteran guard will miss both games of the back-to-back set due to left knee soreness. The good news is, the Bulls are about to head into the All-Star break, so Dragic will get more time to rest and recover. The Bulls will also be without Alex Caruso (foot) for Thursday's game. That means, Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White should see more scoring chances and increased minutes. Both are worth considering as streaming options with the Bulls shorthanded on Thursday.

Wed Feb 15 202318:31Goran Dragic Downgraded To Out Wednesday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) will sit out Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. Dragic is dealing with some knee soreness and the Bulls are taking the cautious approach by ruling him out ahead of the All-Star break. Dragic did not have a major role off the bench and will likely see his minutes absorbed by a combination of Alex Caruso and Coby White.

Wed Feb 15 202314:47Goran Dragic Downgraded To Questionable Wednesday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Indiana. The veteran playmaker was initially considered probable for the game, but he's struggling with a sore left knee and could miss his first game since Jan. 26. Dragic has averaged 15.4 minutes per game off the Chicago bench this season, posting 6.4 points and 2.7 assists. His absence shouldn't have much of an impact in fantasy basketball.

Sat Jan 28 202314:24Goran Dragic On Track To Return Saturday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (conditioning) is set to return from a three-game absence Saturday against Orlando, with the team listing him as probable for the contest. He's working his way back from an illness and has been out lately for conditioning purposes. The veteran isn't a very impactful player anymore, but he will provide some backcourt depth for Chicago. Dragic is averaging 7.2 points and 2.8 assists for the season.

Thu Jan 26 202314:24Goran Dragic Misses Another Game
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (conditioning) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against Charlotte. He is working his way back from a non-COVID illness and needs to put in more work on his condition before being ready for action. Dragic has missed the past two games, giving Coby White a chance to play a bigger role in the rotation. The 22-year-old is currently having his best stretch of the season and could be a useful piece for managers in deep leagues. Across the last six games, White has been getting 12.5 points with 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals.

Tue Jan 24 202315:19Goran Dragic Ruled Out On Tuesday Versus Pacers
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (illness) missed the first half of the back-to-back on Monday and will now officially miss the back half as well on Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers. This year has actually been one of his healthiest so far over the last few seasons as this will only be his fifth missed game all season. While he's out, Coby White and Alex Caruso will see more opportunities and would only serve as streaming options in deeper leagues.

Mon Jan 23 202318:27Goran Dragic To Miss Monday's Game
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The veteran guard will sit this game out due to a non-COVID related illness. His absence should mean that Alex Caruso and Coby White will get a few extra minutes coming their way. Between the two, Caruso is the much better fantasy option. He has been providing top-100 fantasy value during this season. That being said, fantasy managers should check the waiver wire to see if Caruso is still available.

Mon Jan 23 202314:40Goran Dragic Questionable For Monday
Chicago Bulls guard Goran Dragic (illness) is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The veteran guard was not at Sunday's practice due to a non-COVID related illness. The Bulls are likely going to wait until closer to game time before making a final decision on his status. Alex Caruso and Coby White would likely benefit the most if Dragic is unable to play. Caruso has been a top-100 fantasy option over the last month. That being said, he'd be worth looking with increased minutes on Monday.

Tue Aug 2 202222:54Goran Dragic Officially Signs With Chicago
Free-agent guard Goran Dragic officially signed a one-year, $2.9 million contract with Chicago on Tuesday, nearly a month after reaching an agreement to join the team. The veteran has been in the league since 2008 and last suited up for the Nets in 2021-22, averaging 7.3 points, 4.8 assists, 3.2 boards, and 1.0 steals throughout 16 appearances. The Bulls have plenty of depth in the backcourt, albeit young and unproven, to fill in for Lonzo Ball (knee), who may not be ready for training camp. However, considering Dragic's experience, he may earn plenty of minutes early in 2022-23, potentially even holding things down in the starting lineup until Ball is healthy enough to return.

Sat Jun 18 202218:06Mavericks Expected To Pursue Goran Dragic
The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly looking to add a veteran guard this offseason. One player that has been rumored to be a possible option is Goran Dragic. The Mavericks acquired Spencer Dinwiddie mid-season, which helped them reach the Western Conference Finals. It appears the Mavericks aren't done adding guards and intend on pursuing Dragic. The veteran guard spent the beginning of the season with the Toronto Raptors before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He's certainly not the player he was in his prime, but can still contribute on the court. Dragic is unlikely to have consistent value anywhere he lands. However, the Mavericks could be a team where he gets decent playing time.

Tue Apr 26 202221:01Goran Dragic Wants To Keep Playing
Guard Goran Dragic, who is an unrestricted free agent, indicated he doesn't plan on retiring, recently stating, "I still want to play another two, three years. So we'll see what happens." The 35-year-old, who finished the year with Brooklyn, averaged only 7.3 points and 4.8 assists throughout 16 regular season appearances for the Nets. While Dragic's best days are likely behind him, there's a chance he could see an increase in production during the 2022-23 campaign, primarily if he lands a more prominent role somewhere. However, that doesn't mean the former All-Star will be a suitable addition to any fantasy roster, although he may get a few starts here or there.

Mon Apr 11 202222:07Goran Dragic Cleared For Play-In Game
Brooklyn Nets guard Goran Dragic has been cleared for Tuesday's play-in game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The veteran guard has cleared the league's health and safety protocols, so he's eligible to play on Tuesday. Dragic should likely resume his role of around 20 minutes behind Kyrie Irving. Patty Mills should see a reduced role and Cam Thomas might fall out of the rotation altogether.
