Wed Jul 8 201516:48Weems has agreed to two-year deal with Suns worth $5.8 million
Weems has agreed to a two-year deal with the Suns worth $5.8 million, Chris Broussard of ESPN reports.
Weems spent the last three seasons playing for CSKA Moscow of Russia but has decided to re-enter the NBA after his most recent season in 2011 with the Raptors. He should struggle for playing time in Phoenix, however, as he'll likely come off the bench while competing for reps with veteran P.J. Tucker and rookie Devin Booker.

Sonny Weems signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow on Sunday.
Weems signed with a team in Lithuania last season, averaging 15.5 points in 30 minutes per game. The Raptors withdrew a $1.1 million qualifying offer for Weems this summer and he obviously had much greater appeal in the EuroLeague.

The Raptors have withdrawn their qualifying offer for Sonny Weems, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Fri Jun 29 201216:09Raptors extend qualifying offer to G/F Weems
The Raptors have extended a qualifying contract offer to G/F Sonny Weems, making him a restricted free agent.
By extending the qualifying offer to Weems, the Raptors will now be able to match any offer on him. Even though Weems played last season in Lithuania, the Celtics, Cavs, Pistons and Clippers all reportedly expressed interest in signing him before the draft, but it remains to be seen which teams are still interested. Weems is still only 25 years old and could provide swing man help to several NBA teams.

Fri Jun 15 201209:35Sonny Weems set to return to NBA next year
Restricted free agent Sonny Weems, who played this season in Lithuania this year, is set to return to the NBA next season.
The Celtics, Cavs, Pistons and Clippers have all reportedly expressed interest in Weems, but it's still incredibly early in the process. He shouldn't have trouble finding a new home in free agency, and it will be interesting to see what type of offer he receives. He'll still be just 26 years old when next season begins.

"I will be going back to the NBA unless I get an offer in Europe that I can't refuse," said Weems. He hopes that his experience as a go-to player in Lithuania will help improve his game at the NBA level, where in three years he averaged 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Mon Jun 27 201113:11Raptors extend qualifying offer to G/F Weems
The Raptors have officially extended a qualifying contract offer to swingman Sonny Weems.
The move officially makes him a restricted free agent, which gives the team the right to match any contract offer he receives from another club. Weems was briefly serviceable to fantasy owners last season, but a crowded rotation of wing players in Toronto makes it difficult to rely on him if he re-signs with the Raptors.

Sonny Weems is game-time decision for Wednesday's finale against the Heat with his lingering knee injury.

Sun Apr 10 201121:27Weems out again Monday
Sonny Weems (knee) will not play in Monday's game against the Bucks.
We doubt Weems will push his knee to play in the season finale, either. James Johnson is headed for 40 minutes once again tomorrow.

Sun Apr 10 201117:22Sonny Weems a late scratch for Sunday's game
Sonny Weems is a late scratch from the Raptor lineup on Sunday due to a sore right knee.
With so many injuries to key players in the Raptor lineup Weems was prime to have a huge fantasy day. This has to be a major disappointment for fantasy owners hoping to hit the jackpot with a lesser figure like Weems.

Wed Apr 6 201122:17Sonny Weems scores 17 in another loss
Sonny Weems got hot off the Raptors bench on Wednesday, hitting 6-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal as the Raptors lost again.
Weems is worth keeping an eye on, but we wouldn't recommend using him in most leagues as long as he's coming off the Raptors' bench.

Thu Mar 24 201102:06Weems scores 12 points for Raptors
Sonny Weems came off the bench to score 12 points in 16 minutes on 6-of-10 shooting Wednesday.
That's not enough minutes for him to become relevant in fantasy leagues, so continue to ignore him as long as he's not starting.

Sonny Weems scored 14 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 6-of-12 shots from the field with two rebounds and two assists in 20 minutes.
He should be far from rosters in standard leagues, but tonight's performance may have earned him a few more minutes, putting him on the radar in deeper formats.

Fri Feb 25 201122:20Weems falls out of favor for Jay Triano
Sonny Weems continues to come off the bench, scoring one point on 0-for-5 shooting with two rebounds and one assist in 12 minutes.
He was not worth owning in most formats when he was starting, so needless to say coming off the bench he has no value.
