Pirates acquired INF Brian Bocock from the Nationals to complete the Brian Jeroloman deal.
Bocock, 28, was batting just .182/.245/.250 in 49 plate appearances with the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate. He'll serve as organizational depth with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Bocock spent the entire 2012 season in the minor leagues, posting a .237/.296/.329 batting line between the Blue Jays' Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He will struggle to make it to the bigs with Washington.

Blue Jays signed INF Brian Bocock to a minor league contract.
The Blue Jays announced the signing last weekend. According to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com, Bocock could earn $480,000 if he makes the Opening Day roster. The 26-year-old infielder has a .227/.302/.307 career batting line in the minors, so he's unlikely to make an impact.

Phillies activated INF Brian Bocock from the disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Bocock was placed on the disabled list just before the start of the regular season with a fracture in his left wrist. Now that he's nearing full health, the Phillies will use him as organizational infield depth.

The Phils lost second baseman Chase Utley and third baseman Placido Polanco to the disabled list Tuesday and were in desperate need of infield depth. So they called up Bocok, who has a .179/.239/.231 batting line in 65 games this season at Triple-A. Let's hope he is used only in an emergency.
