Kendrick Perkins may also see backup minutes at the beginning of the season.

Already dealing with an Achilles' tendon injury, Ajinca will now add hamstring injury to a laundry list of troubles for the 27-year-old to start the season. While the severity of the injury is unknown at this point, more information should be available after the game.

Ajinca is not fully recovered from an Achilles' tendon injury and still experiencing pain as training camp begins, NOLA.com reports.

As expected, Ajinca was cleared to participate in Tuesday's opening day of the Pelicans' training camp, but the backup center remains less than 100 percent. "I'll have to work through it a little bit, it's still painful," Ajinca said Monday regarding the Achilles injury. Although he's cleared as a full participant, it's unclear if the team will limit his workload and ease him to full health. This injury likely won't linger into the regular season, but even if it does, Ajinca is willing to play through the soreness.
