Wed Jul 5 202318:20Garrett Temple Waived By The Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans guard Garrett Temple is getting waived ahead of the July 7 deadline, according to Michael Scotto of USA Today. The 13-year veteran was a deep reserve for the team and only appeared in 25 games last season. Since he was owed $5.4 million if kept past the deadline, the team decided to waive him and save the money. He already wasn't relevant in any fantasy format, however, if he signs with a competitive team in need of shooting off of the bench, Temple could find some use in deep leagues.

Sat Apr 15 202306:50Garrett Temple Not Ready To Retire
New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward Garrett Temple played a very marginal role this season and will turn 37 in May, but he is still planning to continue his NBA career and wants to stay in New Orleans. The Louisiana-born veteran averaged only 6.5 minutes across 25 games with the Pelicans this season. It was his second year with the club after Temple had represented 10 different teams in his first 11 seasons in the league. Temple averaged a career-high 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds just a few campaigns ago with Brooklyn, but he isn't somebody fantasy managers should look to draft.

Thu Nov 10 202219:10Garrett Temple Comes Off The Injury Report
New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward Garrett Temple (personal) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Thursday's matchup against Portland. He hasn't played at all this month whilst dealing with a personal issue. In fact, Temple has made just two appearances this season, playing a total of 21 minutes, so he's a non-factor in fantasy hoops. But it's good to know that he is game-ready again following a lengthy absence.

Tue Dec 28 202119:56Garrett Temple Starting On Tuesday
New Orleans Pelicans guard Garrett Temple will slide into the starting five for Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brandon Ingram (Achilles) remains out of the lineup, which leads to another start for Temple. He dropped 22 points during the loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. There is some low-end streaming appeal and Temple could be a low cost DFS option. It's uncertain how long Ingram will be sidelined, so Temple could have some short term appeal.

Thu Oct 28 202120:33Garrett Temple Likely To Sit Friday
New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward Garrett Temple (ankle) is doubtful to play Friday against the Sacramento Kings. Temple left in the first half of Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks with an ankle sprain and did not return after 9 minutes of play. Temple has been averaging about 15 minutes off the bench this season and would likely see those minutes go to Trey Murphy III. Naji Marshall will likely also see extra run, but neither are recommended fantasy options outside of very deep leagues.

Mon May 17 202118:36Bulls look to future after frustrating, promising season
CHICAGO (AP) — Zach LaVine insisted he had never played on a team as talented as the Chicago Bulls were this season. That made it all the more disappointing. Instead of gearing up for a potential playoff appearance, the Bulls are once again on the outside looking in. “I'm not upset or spiteful about things that happened," LaVine said Monday. “I just know that we have to work on things and get better at them. We are a good team, and this season made us better.” The Bulls finished 11th in the Eastern Conference at 31-41, two games behind Charlotte for the final play-in spot and out of the postseason for the fourth straight year. They think they are on the right track after their first year with Arturas Karnisovas leading the basketball operation and Billy Donovan coaching them. But they're also frustrated. “I'm optimistic because I know that each player is disappointed with the season, and I want them to go into the offseason feeling that way and remember what it feels like,” said Karnisovas,... Tue Aug 4 202017:28Analysis: In up-and-down season, Nets got a moment to savor
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — All the Brooklyn Nets were missing Tuesday were their leaders in salary, points, points per game, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and 3-pointers. If that wasn’t enough, the feel-good story of Jamal Crawford’s return to the NBA lasted for about six minutes. And they won.The severely undermanned Nets beat Milwaukee 119-116 on Tuesday, temporarily delaying what will be the Bucks’ clinching of the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Bucks didn’t use Brook Lopez or Wesley Matthews at all, plus didn’t play All-Stars Giannis Antetokounmpo or Khris Middleton after halftime, though it should be noted that the Nets were winning at intermission anyway.Who the Bucks played or didn’t play wasn’t all that relevant to the Nets. The walls of the temporary locker rooms at the Visa Athletic Center are paper thin and don’t hold sound, but the Nets probably didn’t mind the fact that anyone within 100 feet could have heard their raucous postgame celebration.“Very... Tue Feb 18 202002:09Surprise! Raptors, Heat, Grizzlies and Thunder in good place
The oddsmakers in Las Vegas usually know what they’re talking about. But even they get things wrong from time to time, and this season in the NBA there have been a few notable misses from all those preseason prognostications — specifically, ones made in relation to the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Grizzlies have already topped most preseason projections for their win total. The sports books had them around 27 wins, and the Ja Morant-led club already has 28 wins and is holding down the Western Conference’s No. 8 playoff spot with 28 games left.“We are just young, very athletic and just get out and run,” said Morant, a clear Rookie of the Year front-runner and probably the favorite at this point. “I feel like we all have something to prove. We just go out with this chip on our shoulder. We keep proving people wrong. But we go out every night and play together.”And the Thunder, who were expected to freefall after losing Paul George, were slotted by most books as a 32-win... [More]

SACRAMENTO, Calif.
