Wed Dec 29 202118:42Wayne Ellington Returns To Action For Wednesday’s Game
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Wayne Ellington (illness) has been given the green light to get back into action for Wednesday's contest against the Grizzlies. Ellington missed one game due to an illness, but he will return for a favorable matchup vs. a Memphis defense that is allowing the opposition to knock down triples at a 37.3% clip, the second-highest mark in the league. Threes have been the name of Ellington's game this year, with 136 of his 148 shot attempts coming from behind the arc. He holds solid DFS appeal Wednesday as L.A. remains without Austin Reaves and Kent Bazemore (conditioning) for the time being.

Tue Dec 28 202117:51Wayne Ellington Will Miss Tuesday’s Contest
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Wayne Ellington (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Rockets, marking his first absence since Nov. 2. Ellington had started each of L.A.'s prior six outings, with Malik Monk and Stanley Johnson likely to see elevated roles in the veteran's absence. Ellington has served almost entirely as a three-point shooting asset for the Lakers, with just four of his 41 shots over his last six games coming from inside the arc; despite that, the 34-year-old has not cracked into the double-digit scoring column since Nov. 24. Ellington did not travel with the team, which puts his status for Wednesday's game vs. Memphis into question as well.

Thu Oct 28 202120:55Rajon Rondo And Wayne Ellington Questionable Friday
Los Angeles Lakers guards Rajon Rondo (ankle) and Wayne Ellington (hamstring) are both questionable to play Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ellington has yet to see the floor this season while Rondo is dealing with some ankle soreness after playing 16 minutes off the bench on Wednesday. Neither have offered fantasy appeal this season and are a few key injuries away from being on the fantasy radar when healthy.

Sat Oct 23 202120:17Wayne Ellington Remains Out On Sunday
Los Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest. The veteran guard remains day-to-day due to a lingering hamstring issue. The Lakers are hopeful that Ellington can get back into the lineup next week. There is a good chance that Kent Bazemore will lose playing time and touches once Ellington returns. There isn't a ton of value here, but Ellington could be worth monitoring in deep leagues.

Thu Nov 19 202014:50Knicks waive group of veterans ahead of NBA free agency
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Knicks waived veterans Elfrid Payton, Taj Gibson and Wayne Ellington and declined their team option on Bobby Portis on Thursday, just a year after signing them in free agency. The Knicks signed all the veterans as part of a seven-player class in the summer of 2019. They enter free agency Friday with only Julius Randle and Reggie Bullock remaining from the group, having traded Marcus Morris to the Clippers during the season. Former Knicks President Steve Mills insisted at the start of last season that the Knicks got the players they wanted with that group. But successor Leon Rose cut most of them as he prepares to reshape one of the league's worst rosters. The moves have them well-positioned for free agency. Portis' option would have paid him $15.8 million in 2020-21. Gibson was due $9.5 million and Ellington and Payton were each set to earn $8 million. The Knicks also waived forward Kenny Wooten and declined their option on guard Theo Pinson. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP-Sports

Mon Sep 30 201915:23Knicks say they built the team they wanted in free agency
GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Free agency was only a few hours old when the New York Knicks acknowledged their fans' disappointment.Three months later, the Knicks have changed their tune. Not only was free agency a success, they say, but fans are going to forget about who the Knicks didn't get because they're going to love who they did."These are guys that our fans are going to like, the toughness that they bring every day when they come to the court to play for the Knicks," team President Steve Mills said Monday. The Knicks signed seven new players in free agency, adding Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock. But by that time, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving had already committed to Brooklyn in the early hours of free agency, and Mills released a statement that night saying he understood that fans could be disappointed but that the team remained confident in its plans. And though the Knicks had enough money to afford two top free... MIAMI (AP) — Dwyane Wade's final home game was memorable for countless reasons. All of his children were there. Former President Barack Obama sent a video, one of many tributes. Fans came early and stayed late, chanting his name. His wife slapped his backside in recognition of his making a 3-pointer.
