Price was waived by the Cavaliers on Wednesday, Sam Amico of Fox Sports reports.

Price began the season with Cleveland before being waived on Nov. 1. He spent a brief stint with the Pacers before being reclaimed by the Cavaliers at the end of November. Price appeared in just 11 games for the Cavs, averaging 2.0 points in 7.9 minutes per game.

Price played two minutes in the loss to the Thunder on Thursday. He did not put up any stats.

Price appeared in three games for Cleveland, but has not played more than three minutes. He has not scored with the Cavaliers.

Price was claimed off waivers by the Cavaliers on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Price, who was waived by the Pacers on Friday, will return to the Cavaliers, the team with which he spent the preseason. The UConn product takes the spot of Will Cherry, who was waived Sunday afternoon, and could factor into the rotation immediately, as Matthew Dellavedova (knee) remains out of action.

Price had some solid games earlier in the season, but was ultimately expendable when some of Indiana's more prominent players returned from injury. Any team can now attempt to claim Price off waivers, and if he clears will be free to sign with any team.

Price has provided a spark off the bench for the injury-plagued Pacers. In his last four games, the former Connecticut Husky has scored at least 14 points three times (and more than 20 twice).

Price put up 14 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, four assists, and one steal during his 24 minutes off the bench Friday against the Nuggets.

Price is making a case for his ownership in deeper leagues as he continues to impress in Indiana. The only problem with locking up Price is that he's expendable when George Hill (knee) and Rodney Stuckey (foot) return from their bouts with injuries, both of which are expected back in the coming week.

Price had nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) with four assists in 18 minutes in his second game with the Pacers on Saturday in the loss to Washington.

Price signed last week with the Pacers and was immediately thrust into reserve minutes. He has provided four assists in each game with Indiana and could be a player to watch with the injury-ravaged Indiana team.

Price is expected to see playing time in Friday's game against the Celtics.

Price signed with the Pacers on Thursday so he may ultimately be limited on the court when considering that he's barely been with the team for 24 hours. He and Donald Sloan will likely split time at point guard Friday.

The Pacers initially attempted to sign Gal Mekel, who was released by the Mavericks, earlier in the week, but a visa issue has apparently prevented that from happening. Indiana will instead look to Price, who appeared in 28 games for the Timberwolves last season. The UConn product was a second-round pick of the Pacers in 2009, and he spent his first three NBA seasons in Indiana, seeing time in 150 games. His familiarity with coach Frank Vogel's system should allow him to slide into the rotation while the team deals with a number of key injuries.

Price spent 2013-14 with the Timberwolves where he averaged 1.6 points in 3.5 minutes over 28 games. The 6-2 former UConn Huskies will provide point guard depth for Cleveland, but likely won't play enough minutes to be fantasy relevant.

He tied his career high on 23 on April 10 and had a strong finish off the bench this season. Price put up career highs in points, boards, assists and 3-pointers in 22.3 minutes and was a decent asset in fantasy leagues while John Wall was hurt earlier.

Unfortunately, he's not likely to have another game like this again this season, but he could still continue to see heavy minutes as the season winds to an end and he tries to set himself up to re-sign with the Wizards for next season.

"I definitely want to be here, I've expressed that many a time," he said. Price also admitted he won't be fully healthy until after the season as he plays through his groin injury. Most notably, John Wall wants Price to return next season, and an endorsement from the franchise star might be enough for Price to return.
