Thu Feb 2913:38Patty Mills Waived By Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have waived veteran guard Patty Mills. The 35-year-old leaves the team after averaging just 10.6 minutes of action across 19 games in 2023-24. The team made the move to covert Trent Forrest's two-way contract into a standard deal. Forrest, who's playing his fourth year in the league, has had a similar role to Mills, featuring in 20 games and averaging 10.5 minutes, but he's a much younger player and could offer a lot more to the team going forward. However, Forrest has yet to make an impact in the NBA, with his career averages standing at 2.8 points and 1.7 assists.

Sat Jul 8 202316:21Patty Mills On The Move Again
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, OKC traded guard Patty Mills to Atlanta on Saturday. In exchange, the Thunder will receive Rudy Gay, Usman Garuba, TyTy Washington Jr., and a second-round pick. Mills, who has been traded three times in the last 10 days, averaged 6.2 points in 40 games with the Nets last season. However, the 34-year-old may not remain in Atlanta, considering he's on an attractive $6.8 million expiring contract. At any rate, Mills' role will be contingent on where he eventually ends up. While he may get some chances to produce in 2023-24, he likely won't be a consistent fantasy contributor.

Sun Jul 2 202309:52Patty Mills Not Expected To Remain In Houston
Newly acquired Patty Mills is expected to quickly move on from Houston, with the Rockets looking to use him in a sign-and-trade deal for Dillon Brooks. Mills was picked up Saturday from the Brooklyn Nets, where he played very sparingly last season, averaging 6.2 points in 14.2 minutes while logging only 40 appearances. He'll provide veteran presence and three-point shooting wherever he eventually lands, but the days of Mills being a fantasy asset appear to be behind us.

Fri Mar 10 202310:24Patty Mills Posts Vintage Performance Against Milwaukee
Brooklyn Nets guard Patty Mills turned back the clock a little bit on Thursday night despite the five-point loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks. The 34-year-old Aussie posted 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block on 8-for-16 shooting while adding five made threes. This was the second-highest minutes he received in a game this season and delivered his second-highest point total to go along with it. He's still hard to trust in any fantasy format for the playoffs unless the Nets decide to go full tank mode at some point.

Fri Dec 16 202216:36Patty Mills Will Miss Friday’s Contest
Brooklyn Nets point guard Patty Mills (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Raptors due to a non-COVID illness. Mills has been sparingly used off the bench this season with Edmond Sumner and Seth Curry largely vaulting him on the depth chart; the veteran has averaged just 5.5 PPG, his lowest scoring output in a decade. Without Mills in the mix, Sumner and Cam Thomas could see some added backcourt run. The next chance for the 34-year-old to return comes Sunday vs. Detroit.

Wed Jun 29 202218:11Patty Mills Declines Player Option
Brooklyn Nets guard Patty Mills has decided to decline his player option and enter free agency. Last season, Mills averaged 2.8 three-pointers while playing nearly 29 minutes per game. He could draw plenty of interest in free agency, but is unlikely to find a starting spot anywhere. Mills is really only useful for his ability from beyond the arc, but can still be a decent contributor off the bench. Honestly, his fantasy value should be about the same on any team he lands.

Wed Jun 22 202220:06Patty Mills Undecided About Future In Brooklyn
Upcoming free-agent guard Patty Mills remains undecided about his future in Brooklyn. He has a player option, which if exercised, would pay him $6.2 million in 2022-23. However, it appears his decision may be based on the future of Kyrie Irving, who reportedly caused moral issues in the locker room after refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. While Mills wasn't a consistent fantasy presence, he averaged 13.1 points and shot 37.5% from behind the arc throughout 48 appearances in the starting lineup, so it seems the 33-year-old still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Nonetheless, it's hard to tell how impactful the veteran will be for fantasy managers this season, primarily since it's not known where he'll be playing. But there is still upside for those in deep formats, no matter where he ends up moving forward.

Mon Feb 28 202219:18Patty Mills Getting The Nod Versus Raptors
Brooklyn Nets guard Patty Mills will move into the starting five for Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors. All-Star guard Kyrie Irving will sit this one out like he does all home games due to his vaccination status. Mills will be joined by Seth Curry, Bruce Brown, James Johnson and Andre Drummond for Monday's game. He'll look to get out of a 0-for-12 shooting funk over the last two games. Mills should get plenty of minutes, but is a risky fantasy option given his recent struggles. Brown and Curry are much better streaming options for this contest.

Thu Jan 13 202217:56Kevin Durant, Patty Mills Will Miss Thursday’s Game
Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Durant (rest) and point/shooting guard Patty Mills (rest) will be held out of Thursday's contest against the Thunder due to rest purposes. Durant, the league's leading scorer at 29.7 points per game, has been on a scoring tear as of late, having dropped at least 24 points in each of his last 17 outings. The absence of Mills marks his first of the year, paving the way for Cameron Thomas to see a larger role, and thereby higher DFS exposure. James Harden should garner enormous DFS appeal as well with Kyrie Irving (vaccination status) unavailable. Fantasy managers can anticipate Durant and Mills to return for Saturday's game vs. New Orleans.

Fri Jan 7 202219:10Patty Mills Rejoins Starting Five Friday
Brooklyn Nets point/shooting guard Patty Mills has been elevated back into the starting lineup for Friday's contest vs. Milwaukee after a one-game stint on the bench with Kyrie Irving active for the team's road outing. David Duke Jr. will be sticking in the starting group as well, although he holds minimal fantasy intrigue when the Nets are at relative full health. Mills has scored in single figures in three of his last four games, a rare hiccup in production amidst what has been a career year for the veteran, who is on pace to set new career bests at 13.6 points per game. He will have a particularly advantageous matchup Friday, as the Bucks yield the second-most three-point buckets made by the opposition (14.3) on a nightly basis.

Sun Dec 19 202109:36Patty Mills Leads Nets In Scoring Against Orlando
Brooklyn Nets point guard Patty Mills led the team in scoring with 23 points on 10-for-24 shooting in Saturday's loss to Orlando, adding six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block with two turnovers in 41 minutes. This could've been a huge night for Mills if he could've kept up his recent hot shooting form from downtown, but he went only 2-for-14 from outside. The Nets have a bunch of players out right now and Mills has started to carry the offense. He also had a season-high 30 points against Toronto earlier in the week and Mills should continue to see plenty of the ball until Brooklyn gets its main guys back.

Fri Dec 17 202120:34Patty Mills Will Sit Out Saturday’s Contest
Brooklyn Nets point/shooting guard Patty Mills (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Magic due to rest purposes. Mills has been deemed unavailable, even as Brooklyn is facing an extreme roster crunch due to the combination of injuries and the league's health and safety protocols. Cam Thomas and Kessler Edwards are the likeliest candidates to see elevated roles in Mills' absence, but it appears that any healthy member of the Brooklyn roster will have significant DFS prospects Saturday. Mills should be good to go Sunday vs. Denver, bringing season-long stream value with him.

Tue Oct 19 202123:00Patty Mills Perfect From Behind The Arc, Hits Seven Threes
Brooklyn Nets point/shooting guard Patty Mills certainly made an impactful debut in his first regular-season game with his new organization. Playing 29 minutes off the bench, Mills went a perfect 7-for-7 from behind the three-point line, finishing with 21 points. He also added two rebounds and two assists to tie a knot on his impressive evening. Mills finished third on the team in shot attempts, an outcome that is entirely feasible to have some longevity with Brooklyn's current roster construction. In the short-term, Mills' is undoubtedly the Nets' No. 1 scoring option within the second unit, which will quickly put him into DFS consideration in all formats as soon as Friday vs. Philadelphia.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The Spurs were eager to turn the page after all the injuries and uncertainty of last season.Instead, the hard luck continues.San Antonio was beset by two knee injuries in the preseason, the most devastating to point guard Dejounte Murray. Coach Gregg Popovich said Murray will likely miss the season after tearing his right ACL on Oct. 7."I feel bad for the team because they were all so high on Dejounte," Popovich said, "but mostly for him because he's worked hard and he has improved."The injury and the torn right meniscus suffered two days earlier by first-round pick Lonnie Walker IV dampened the Spurs' eagerness to put last season — and the awkward offseason — behind them.
