Pleiss terminated his contract with FC Barcelona and signed with the Jazz on Thursday, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Pleiss was drafted back in 2010, and his rights ultimately ended up in the Jazz's hands. Pleiss is now ready to join the NBA, as Utah will take him in on a contract reportedly worth $625,000. In his final season with Barcelona, the 25-year-old averaged 5.4 points and 3.76 rebounds over 13 minutes in 71 games with the club. While how much production he will be able to give the Jazz is still in question, he definitely possess great size and length in an already young Utah frontcourt.

Pleiss' rights were dealt to the Jazz on Thursday, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Last offseason, the Thunder implied that they intended to bring the German center to the NBA in 2015-16. Currently, Pleiss is a member of FC Barcelona, for whom he's averaging 5.8 points (on 58 percent shooting) and 3.7 rebounds in 13 minutes across 34 games (five starts). Because an international flavor exists in Utah -- Dante Exum (Australia) and Rudy Gobert (France) -- Pleiss could very well make the move to professional hoops in the States next season.

Pleiss has officially signed a contract to play for FC Barcelona Basketball this upcoming season, Sportando reports.
Pleiss will go to Spain to try and develop his game to potentially become a decent front court player for the Thunder in the 2015-2016 season. With Kendrick Perkins and Nick Collison becoming free agents at the end of next season, the move makes great sense for the team to try and develop their young talent. Getting Pleiss some playing time this season should help mold his game and prepare him for the NBA.

Pleiss, a Thunder draftee, will spend the upcoming season in Barcelona, but the Thunder intend to bring the center to Oklahoma City for the 2015-16 season, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Pleiss is one of the better foreign center prospects and could provide the Thunder with some depth in the frontcourt when he makes the eventual move to the NBA. This move makes even more sense for the Thunder when you consider that Nick Collison and Kendrick Perkins will become free agents at the end of the 2014-15 season.

General Manager Sam Presti told The Oklahoman, "We're in constant communication with him and following him. He's progressing well. We cannot speed up his development. We're excited for where he is. But we've got to let him be him. We'll continue to watch him this summer."
