Wed Sep 24 201409:38Orton expected to sign with Wizards
Orton is expected to sign with the Wizards, CSN Washington reports.
Orton will face an uphill battle to make the team out of training camp, as the Wizards already improved their frontcourt depth by signing DeJuan Blair and Kris Humphries to guaranteed contracts. Orton played with the Wizards' team in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging just 4.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.2 blocks over 16.4 minutes in five games.
Sun Jul 13 201415:54Daniel Orton inactive for Wizards' SL team
Daniel Orton is playing for the Wizards in the Las Vegas Summer League, but he didn't practice on Sunday and is listed as day-to-day.
It's unclear what's wrong with Orton, but he may simply be out of shape -- in his only game in Vegas he scored four points, turned the ball over four times and committed six personal fouls in 17 minutes. Whether or not he earns a guaranteed NBA contract this season, Orton isn't worth fantasy owners' attention.

Tue Jan 7 201417:10Sixers waive C Daniel Orton
Sixers waive C Daniel Orton.
Orton averaged 3.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 22 games this year. He may earn a few more 10-day contracts this season but he belongs in the fantasy FA pool.

Sun Dec 15 201316:44Daniel Orton is suspended one game
Daniel Orton will be suspended one game for his altercation in Saturday's game against the Blazers.
Orton won't play on Monday against the Nets. He's played just 4.1 minutes per game in December and is hanging on by a thread on the thin Philly roster.

Sun Dec 15 201309:40Daniel Orton may be suspended by league
76ers big man Daniel Orton may be suspended by the league for throwing an elbow at Meyers Leonard during an on-court scuffle on Saturday.
Orton was ejected with a Flagrant-2 foul and it would be surprising if the NBA doesn't punish him since his elbow was directed at Leonard's head. Even if he is suspended, it shouldn't make any impact for fantasy owners.

Sun Dec 1 201312:35Daniel Orton vanishes from rotation on Friday
76ers big man Daniel Orton picked up a DNP-CD on Friday after starting the Sixers' previous two games.
His temporary surge into the starting lineup came with Spencer Hawes (knee) and Thaddeus Young (personal) both unavailable, and anyone who picked him up should obviously cut him. Asked about Orton's DNP, coach Brett Brown responded, "Part of the NBA. You've got so many bigs. It's horses for courses, depending on who you're playing."

Sat Nov 23 201322:09Daniel Orton double-doubles in rare start
Daniel Orton started Saturday's game and posted his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes.
Orton also swatted two shots, but it's telling that this was his best line of the season. Once Spencer Hawes (knee) and Thaddeus Young (personal) return, Orton will be back on the fantasy scrap heap as a middling backup big man.

Sat Nov 23 201300:41Orton posts low-end line in start at PF
Daniel Orton scored four points on 1-of-3 shooting with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 19 minutes on Friday against the Bucks.
Orton started his second straight game with Thad Young out and this low-end line would only really serve deeper leagues, so there's no reason to pay Orton much fantasy attention yet.

Wed Nov 20 201323:57Daniel Orton starts at PF for Sixers
Daniel Orton started at power forward for the Sixers on Wednesday and had six points, six rebounds and a block in 17 minutes.
The fact he's still in the league, let alone starting for someone, is pretty impressive, but he has no fantasy value unless Thaddeus Young (personal) happens to miss several games. And even then, it's doubtful that you'd want to own Orton.

Mon Nov 11 201323:19Daniel Orton did not play on Monday's game
Daniel Orton (knee) did not play in Monday's game against the Spurs.
He was available to play, but never saw any game action and may be out of the rotation. Move along, there's nothing to see here.

Mon Nov 11 201317:54Daniel Orton is available to play on Monday
Daniel Orton (knee) is available to play against the Spurs on Monday.
He said this is nothing he can't play through. That's not a surprise since this is an injury to the knee that hasn't been reconstructed. Still, Orton is playing just 13.4 minutes per game and is not a big part of the Sixers' rotation.

Sat Nov 9 201318:42Daniel Orton out again w/ sore right knee
76ers center Daniel Orton will miss his second consecutive game on Sunday with a sore right knee.
Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen will each have a few extra minutes in Orton's absence. He remains day-to-day in advance of Monday's game vs. the Spurs.

Fri Nov 8 201317:26Daniel Orton won't play on Friday
Daniel Orton (right knee soreness) will not play against the Cavs.
Coach Brett Brown said Orton could be back in the lineup on Saturday. This is to his knee and not the one that had multiple surgeries before he entered the league in 2010. Spencer Hawes played 39 minutes on Wednesday and figures to get a bigger workload than his usual 30 minutes-per-game average. Hollis Thompson could pick up some minutes, too.

Thu Nov 7 201312:12Daniel Orton day-to-day with knee soreness
Daniel Orton is listed as day-to-day with knee soreness.
While this isn't the same knee that has previously plagued Orton, he has dealt with knee issues in the past so this isn't great news. He's averaging just over 15 minutes per game this season, so fantasy owners in anything but the deepest of leagues shouldn't be too affected if Orton is forced to miss any time.

Wed Nov 6 201320:22Daniel Orton out with right knee soreness
Daniel Orton is dealing with right knee soreness on Wednesday and will not return, according to the Sixers broadcast.
He's had numerous problems with his left knee, so this is not that same knee that caused his draft stock to plummet back in 2010. Orton played just 15.8 minutes per game so far this season and finished Wednesday's game with five points and three boards in seven minutes.

Mon Oct 21 201321:53Daniel Orton gets 21 minutes on Monday
Daniel Orton played 21 minutes against the Cavs on Monday and had two points, 10 boards, one block and one turnover.
Outside of Thaddeus Young and Spencer Hawes, no other frontcourt player on the Sixers saw more than Orton's 21 minutes. He played 27 minutes on Thursday and had four blocks, so considering the lack of depth and how Hawes doesn't play big minutes, Orton could be someone worth watching in very deep leagues.

Wed Oct 16 201309:47Free agent C Daniel Orton signed by 76ers
The 76ers have signed free agent C Daniel Orton, who was waived by the Thunder last week.
Orton spent the bulk of the 2012-13 season playing in the D-League, where he averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 28 minutes per game. With Nerlens Noel (knee) out indefinitely, the Sixers are thin enough in the middle that Orton has a realistic chance to make the roster. He's worth watching in fantasy leagues in case he emerges as a reliable bench player in Philly.

Thu Oct 10 201312:33Thunder waive C Daniel Orton
Thunder waive C Daniel Orton.
The Thunder have plenty of options at center, including Kendrick Perkins, Steven Adams and Hasheem Thabeet, not to mention Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison, so there was simply no room for Orton. The Thunder have one more cut to make, as the roster stands at 16.

Tue Jul 16 201309:54Daniel Orton is unlikely to stay with OKC
Daniel Orton is unlikely to remain with the Thunder after his Orlando Summer League showing.
He was terrific in his 18.0 minutes of action in Orlando, averaging 12.0 points, 5.0 boards, 1.0 steals and 1.7 blocks on 66.7 percent shooting in three games. The Thunder are dangerously close to the luxury-tax threshold, which suggests that there's just no room for Orton. His impressive showing may have him latch on with another team.

Thu Jul 11 201323:00Daniel Orton expected to play on Friday
Daniel Orton (mild concussion) is expected to play in Friday's Summer League game.
The Thunder could still hold him out as a precaution. Orton has been impressive this week and his teammates are saying that he's putting in a ton of work at the gym. He was once a highly-touted prospect from Kentucky and he's starting to come into his own as he begins his fourth year as a pro. That said, he's still not on the fantasy radar yet.
