Sat Mar 5 202209:17DeMarcus Cousins Erupts For Season-High 31-Point Outing
Power forward DeMarcus Cousins' first start as a member of the Denver Nuggets resulted in the veteran delivering a stat line reminiscent of his days racking up All-Star appearances -- 31 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals, all coming in just 24 minutes. Cousins, who shot 10-for-14 overall and 3-for-4 from behind the arc, feasted on a Rockets team that boasts the lowest defensive efficiency in the league, taking on starting duties in Nikola Jokic's (illness) absence. In six games as a starter in 2021-22 (the others coming as a member of the Bucks), Cousins has averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 boards, showcasing the fantasy relevance he will have moving forward if Jokic's illness sidelines him for any more time.

Wed Feb 16 202221:47DeMarcus Cousins Now Listed As Available Wednesday
Updating a previous report, Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins (illness) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. About 45 minutes prior to tip-off, the Nuggets tweeted that Cousins would be out for the game due to a non-COVID illness, but that appears to no longer be the case as he is listed as "available" on the official injury report. While Cousins may indeed be available on Wednesday, the illness, which is being described as a gastrointestinal illness, may still prevent him from seeing the court in Wednesday's game.

Wed Feb 16 202221:10DeMarcus Cousins Ruled Out For Wednesday's Game
Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. He is dealing with a gastrointestinal illness. With Boogie sidelined, we could see both of the Nuggets' Greens - Jeff Green and JaMychal Green - take on some extra minutes. Cousins has been playing about 15 minutes per game off the bench since being acquired by the Nuggets in mid-January. He's been making the most of those limited minutes, averaging 6.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game over seven games in a Nuggets jersey.

Wed Feb 16 202220:50DeMarcus Cousins Uncertain For Wednesday
Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins (illness) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. He is dealing with a non-COVID related illness, so hopefully nothing serious. He has been a decent backup center in Denver, but doesn't provide much fantasy value. Zeke Nnaji (hamstring) has already been ruled out for this game. JaMychal Green could be looking at possible minutes in the low 20s on Wednesday. Despite that, it's tough to imagine Green having much value in most fantasy formats.

Sun Jan 30 202217:57DeMarcus Cousins Won't Play Against Bucks
Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Cousins won't get a chance to take on his former team due to a right foot sprain. JaMychal Green, Zeke Nnaji, and Jeff Green are all available, so the Nuggets will have plenty of options at center. None of them are great streaming options, but Nnaji has been hot recently. Hopefully this foot issue won't cost Cousins significant time.

Sat Jan 8 202220:52DeMarcus Cousins Plans To Sign With Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are expected to sign center DeMarcus Cousins to a 10-day contract. The veteran big man was solid with the Milwaukee Bucks recently, but was waived after his contract ended with the organization. It seems Milwaukee wanted to keep a roster spot open, so they elected to move on from Cousins. Now, the Nuggets have a chance to strike while the iron is still hot. They desperately need help behind Nikola Jokic at the center position. Jokic has been shouldering a heavy load for this team and could use more rest. Cousins could have some low-end fantasy appeal, assuming he signs with Denver. He'll likely get meaningful minutes off the bench, so he's worth keeping an eye on in fantasy formats.

Fri Dec 24 202108:48DeMarcus Cousins Has A Great Game Against Mavs
Milwaukee Bucks center DeMarcus Cousins played a very productive 28 minutes against Dallas on Thursday, finishing a 102-95 win with a season-high 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. He hit 8-for-15 from the field and 5-for-7 at the charity stripe with a 1-for-4 record from deep. Cousins has done very well in recent games and that's now three consecutive strong efforts from him, but Saturday's matchup against Boston looks like an uncomfortable matchup for him, with the Celtics having limited opposing bigs to 49.4 percent shooting this season. Only three teams have done better.

Fri Dec 17 202119:36DeMarcus Cousins Draws First Start With Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks center DeMarcus Cousins has been elevated to the starting five for Friday's contest against the Pelicans, his first appearance in the starting group with his new organization. Milwaukee is extremely shorthanded with Giannis Antetokounmpo (health and safety protocols) and Khris Middleton (knee) down, among other key contributors. Even as he draws the start, it's unlikely that Cousins vastly exceeds the 12.9 minutes per contest that he has averaged in seven outings with the Bucks. Jordan Nwora and Sandro Mamukelashvili are two other frontcourt names that DFS managers could target at the 11th hour.

Sat Dec 4 202114:58DeMarcus Cousins Probable Versus Visiting Heat
Milwaukee Bucks center DeMarcus Cousins (foot) is expected to play on Saturday during the showdown with Miami. The veteran, who recently inked a one-year deal, made his debut versus the Hornets on Wednesday before getting the night off on Thursday to deal with left foot soreness. Nonetheless, it's likely Cousins won't get much work against the Heat, although he could certainly get more chances to produce if Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), who is doubtful, doesn't suit up. As a result, the 31-year-old should be considered a desperation addition for managers in deeper formats and a contrarian value option in DFS tournament setups.

Thu Dec 2 202117:45DeMarcus Cousins Will Miss Thursday’s Contest
Milwaukee Bucks center DeMarcus Cousins (rest) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Raptors. Cousins made his season debut Wednesday, compiling seven points and four rebounds across 15 minutes, but Milwaukee will ease the 31-year-old back into action. In the wake of Brook Lopez (back) undergoing surgery that will sideline him indefinitely, Cousins' addition serves to give the Bucks more offensive thump in the frontcourt. While he has an all-NBA pedigree, Cousins' role will likely keep him from being viable in most season-long formats at this stage. He should be all set to return to action Saturday vs. Miami.

Tue Nov 30 202120:39DeMarcus Cousins Joins Bucks, Will Debut Wednesday
Center DeMarcus Cousins has found a new home with the reigning NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks as of Tuesday. Cousins has not yet appeared in a game this season, but the Bucks revealed that he will be available to make his team debut Wednesday against Charlotte. Injuries have zapped Cousins of much of his all-NBA skill set, but he has proven to still be an adept offensive weapon when utilized. Despite averaging just 17.4 minutes per game last year between time with the Rockets and Clippers, Cousins was able to put up 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds on a nightly basis. With Brook Lopez (back) still down, Milwaukee can look to utilize Cousins' dynamic offensive arsenal, although his minutes allotment will largely dictate whether or not he has season-long fantasy relevance.

Thu Jul 1 202118:45Clippers await Leonard's decision on contract option
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers’ season began in an empty arena with cardboard cutouts, COVID-19 tests, and protocols for everything. It ended with the team reaching the Western Conference finals for the first time in franchise history, even without injured superstar Kawhi Leonard. A masked Leonard watched from the bench as the Clippers lost to the Phoenix Suns in six games on Wednesday night. “Man, we just had a group of guys that loved playing with each other. Everyone was on the same page,” center Ivica Zubac said Thursday. The Clippers overcame 0-2 deficits in the first two rounds to beat Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks and Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz. Leonard sprained his right knee in Game 4 against the Jazz and didn't play again. Zubac also injured his knee and was forced to sit out the final two games against the Suns. The Clippers trailed that series 0-2 and 1-3 before closing to 3-2 and eventually running out of gas. Through the injuries, Paul George kept... [More]
Wed Feb 24 202113:52Houston Rockets release DeMarcus Cousins after 25 games
HOUSTON (AP) — The Houston Rockets have released DeMarcus Cousins after just 25 games. Cousins was waived this week after signing a $2.3 million contract with Houston in the offseason. He returned to the court this season after missing all of last season while recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. The 30-year-old Cousins was averaging 9.6 points and 7.6 rebounds this season playing in a reserve role. The four-time All-Star has averaged 20.8 points and 10.7 rebounds in an 11-year career in which he also played with Sacramento, New Orleans and Golden State. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/hub/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Sun Jan 17 202116:37Rockets look to future after trading Harden to Brooklyn
HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden forced his way out of Houston without bringing the Rockets an NBA title. Now that he’s in Brooklyn, the Rockets hope the huge haul of draft picks they received in the trade will allow them to chase championships in the future. “Our goal remains unchanged,” general manager Rafael Stone said Sunday, addressing the trade for the first time. “I think we’re well-positioned to develop something really special.” Houston dealt Harden to the Nets last week, a day after he said the Rockets weren't “good enough,” in a four-team trade that also involved Cleveland and Indiana. The Rockets didn’t receive a franchise cornerstone in the deal but got many draft picks that should position them to build a talented roster. The Rockets received Brooklyn’s unprotected first-round picks in 2022, 2024 and 2026 and the right to swap first-round selections with the Nets in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027. Houston also got Milwaukee’s 2022 first-round pick from Cleveland. Houston acquired three... [More]
Wed Jan 13 202115:45Harden kept out of practice after he disparages Rockets
HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden doesn’t want to be a Houston Rocket. On Wednesday, the Rockets told him they didn’t want him at practice after his inflammatory comments about the team. “We felt it was best for James and best for the group for him not to come to practice,” first-year coach Stephen Silas said. The disgruntled superstar had remained quiet through months of speculation that he is unhappy in Houston. Numerous reports have indicated he’s looking to be shipped to Brooklyn to play with former Oklahoma City teammate Kevin Durant, and other reports surfaced Wednesday that Philadelphia, where former Houston GM Daryl Morey now works, is also involved in trade talks. Harden finally voiced his frustration on Tuesday night after the second straight blowout loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. “We’re just not good enough ... I love this city. I literally have done everything that I can,” Harden said after the game. “I mean, this situation is crazy. It’s something that I don’t think can be fixed.”... [More]
Wed Dec 23 202022:20OKC-Houston game postponed, Harden out after COVID violation
HOUSTON (AP) — The James Harden soap opera in Houston now comes with a canceled season opener — and a $50,000 fine for the league's leading scorer. Houston's opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night was scrapped after coronavirus cases and Harden's violation of the NBA's COVID-19 protocols left the Rockets without the league-mandated eight players available to start a game. It was a dispiriting blow to the NBA on just the second night of an uncertain season launching with the pandemic still raging. The NBA announced the postponement in a release that said three Rockets players had returned tests that were either positive or inconclusive and that four other players were quarantined because of contract tracing. The release also said that Harden was unavailable for the game because of a violation of health and safety protocols after video of the disgruntled star surfaced on social media where he was without a mask at a crowded party in a private event space Monday night.... Rumors have swirled for months that Harden wants to be traded, but the superstar has refused to address the situation. A ninth player was unavailable for the game because of an injury, leaving the Rockets without enough players to play Wednesday night. Houston's injury report released Wednesday morning that Ben McLemore and rookie KJ Martin were not with the team and were self-isolating and that DeMarcus Cousins was questionable because of a sprained right ankle.
