Mon Sep 24 201818:17Spurs looking forward to new faces, new season after turmoil
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — DeMar DeRozan's first month with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has been serene, though the All-Star guard acquired in the offseason from Toronto has been warned about provoking "angry Pop.""That hurts me," Popovich said playfully. "I just, just . it hurts me. Our relationship is not starting off well, I guess. I guess I have more work to do than I thought."Welcome to the kinder, gentler Spurs?Hardly.Popovich is still going to scream at his players on the court and will always be mischievous off it. More specifically, the franchise he built is still going to rely heavily on ball movement and defense, albeit with a whole lot of new faces. The era of the Big Three is officially over for San Antonio with Tony Parker leaving in free agency and Manu Ginobili joining Tim Duncan in retirement this summer. DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl, Lonnie Walker, Dante Cunningham, Quincy Pondexter and Chimezie Metu and a host of others were invited to training camp, which starts Tuesday."I still don't... [More]

Pondexter (knee) isn't expected to be available until November, John Reid of The Times-Picayune reports.
Considering the regular season doesn't begin until late October, it doesn't sound like Pondexter will miss much of it. However, it does appear he'll at least miss a few games to begin the campaign. When healthy, the veteran figures to be a contributing member off the bench again in 2015-16.

Pondexter (knee) is progressing slowly during the rehab process and hasn't yet been cleared for full-scale basketball work, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. "I hope not to miss much time if any time at all," Pondexter said in a SiriusXM Radio interview.
Pondexter underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in early May and had been vocal about his ability to be ready for training camp. His stature in standard leagues was tenuous at best, and he'll have a difficult time cracking the starting lineup if the Pelicans enter the season with a healthy Jrue Holiday (leg).

Pondexter (knee) expects to be healthy by the start of training camp, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Pondexter underwent arthroscopic surgery in May on his left knee. He's recently spent time watching the summer league squad and catching up with assistant coach Darren Erman. The new offense installed by head coach Alvin Gentry will push the pace, and Erman has been going over the defensive coverages with Pondexter.

Pondexter (knee) was traded from the Grizzlies to the Pelicans in January of the 2014-15 season. He received a larger role with the Pelicans, averaging 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.4 blocks, and 0.3 steals in 28 minutes per game through 45 games played with New Orleans.
Pondexter enjoyed increased minutes this season after being traded to New Orleans. Thanks to injuries and an opening at the small forward spot, he started 28 out of the 45 games he played as a Pelican. His three-point percentage increased from a dismal 23 percent in Memphis to an astounding 43 percent in New Orleans. His improvement on offense throughout the season was a huge plus for the Pelicans but did not increase his fantasy value enough to be relevant in most standard leagues. He underwent minor knee surgery in May but should be ready for training camp, so there is little chance that this injury keeps him out to begin the 2015-16 season. With a lot of momentum heading into next season, it will be interesting to see what role Pondexter will find under new head coach Alvin Gentry.

Pondexter (knee) underwent successful knee surgery Wednesday, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Pondexter underwent an arthroscopic procedure to address an issue in his left knee. It's the first we've heard of such an issue, but the procedure appears to be relatively minor and shouldn't affect his status for the start of next season. The team is yet to announce a recovery timetable.

Pondexter performed admirably in the Pelicans' Game 1 loss on Saturday, recorded 20 points (7-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 37 minutes.
Pondexter shot 46 percent from distance post-All-Star break. The larger surprise stems from his team-high rebounds, assists and steals against the league's best defense. With Tyreke Evans (knee) potentially unavailable moving forward, Pondexter will assume more offensive responsibility.

Pondexter dropped 20 points (7-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Warriors.
With Tyreke Evans (knee) going down, Pondexter saw extra run and extra shots Saturday and will need to continue that sort of form if Evans' MRI results are not encouraging. Throughout the regular season, Pondexter averaged 1.2 three-pointers in just 24 minutes off action, numbers which will have to increase in New Orleans has a chance of an upset.

Pondexter scored 17 points (6-9, 5-6 3Pt) in Tuesday's win over the Nets.
Pondexter should continue to hold increased value so long as Ryan Anderson (knee) remains out of the lineup. He's played at least 27 minutes in every game since Feb. 20 and is usually a solid source of three-pointers at a low daily price.
Sat Mar 7 201500:59Pondexter started eighth game of season Friday in loss to Celtic...
Pondexter started his eighth game of the season Friday in a loss to the Celtics, and was held to single-digit points for his fourth straight game, despite playing in at least 28 minutes in all four. He finished Friday's game with six points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four assists and two rebounds.
Pondexter was just recently inserted into the starting lineup. He's been seeing a lot of minutes as of late, but just isn't turning that into fantasy production. In his past four games, he's averaging just six points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31 minutes per game.

Pondexter was moved into the starting lineup during Wednesday's win over the Nets, and finished with 25 points (9-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 40 minutes.
In just his fifth start of the season, Pondexter took advantage of the extra time and posted a new season-high in points. He's averaging just 21.2 minutes per game, so the 40 minutes he received Wednesday really helped his production. With Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson both out for at least another week or two, Pondexter will likely continue to get some run with the starters and his fantasy value will be as high as it's been all season. He should offer decent value as long as he's in the starting lineup.

Pondexter scored 14 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), backed up by five rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes on Sunday.
This was Pondexter's best game since coming to New Orleans. He's played plenty of minutes since joining the team and they seem to like what he contributes. Those in deeper leagues can look at Pondexter as an upside pick, but those in shallower formats can most likely find better value.
