ATLANTA (AP) — There is almost certainly pain coming for the Hawks, or at least their fans, yet first-time NBA head coach Lloyd Pierce and second-year general manager Travis Schlenk refuse to notarize that word while in charge of Atlanta's only woebegone pro team.Training camp begins Tuesday for the team that last season lost more games than any other in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks were 24-58, and their offseason moves are not likely to move them closer to playoff contention.They're going to be painfully young outside of their two potential marquee players. Vince Carter, though, is 41 years old ahead of his 20th NBA season. And Jeremy Lin, 30, signed over the summer too, joining his seventh NBA team. C Cole Aldrich has had a decline in playing time. "A big part of that is what your opponents are doing," coach Tom Thibodeau said. Aldrich averaged 13.2 minutes per game through 25 games but just 5.7 mpg in Minnesota's last 17 games before Monday. He scored two points in four minutes on Monday.

C Cole Aldrich agreed to a three-year, $22 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, ESPN reported. Aldrich will get considerably less money that other centers who recently agreed to terms with NBA teams, but Aldrich does not figure to be a major offensive weapon for the Timberwolves. The 6-foot-11 Aldrich, 27, averaged 5.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 60 games, including five starts, this past season for the Los Angeles Clippers.

C Cole Aldrich had a huge night for the Clippers with season-highs of 21 points and 18 rebounds.

F LaMarcus Aldridge scored 23 points, 13 of them in the pivotal third quarter, helping San Antonio beat Dallas on Sunday. Aldridge's work on the offensive end, most of it done in the paint and on the baseline in the second and third quarters, was critical when the game got continuous.

C Cole Aldrich, who started for DeAndre Jordan (pneumonia), scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, sparking the Clippers to their 10th consecutive victory."Cole is a guy that just stays ready," said Paul, who also had four of the Clippers' 18 steals (Miami managed five). "Whenever his number is called, he comes in and does whatever he has to do. Early in the game, I was on him to start rolling towards the basket more, but in the second half, he got going."

Aldrich (ankle) returned to the court for Sunday's exhibition against the Raptors. He nailed both of his free throws and grabbed three rebounds in his seven minutes of action.

The former 11th overall pick played in a career-high 61 games while averaging 16 minutes per game with the Knicks last season, but he'll have a difficult time simply winning a roster spot out of training camp on a far deeper Clippers squad. Now that he's over the left ankle sprain, look for Aldrich to see more minutes as the preseason rolls on.

Aldrich (ankle) will not play in Friday's preseason opener against the Nuggets, Dan Woike of the OC Register reports.

Aldrich is dealing with a left ankle sprain, which the team does not believe is serious. That said, he'll be held out as a precaution Friday but he could be back for Sunday's matchup against Toronto.

Aldrich plans to sign a two-year deal with the Clippers, ESPN's Derek Wetmore reports.

The figure wasn't disclosed, but it's sure to hover around the minimum as the Clippers are devoid of cap space. The second year is believed to hold a player option. Aldrich will back up DeAndre Jordan, who has played 322 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the league. He provides rebounding and shot blocking, and he posted career-highs of 5.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 1.2 assists, and 0.6 steals in 16 minutes per game with the Knicks last season.

Aldrich started 16 of 61 games played for the Knicks this season and averaged 5.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 16 minutes per game.

Aldrich's 16 minutes per game were easily his most since joining the league as a lottery pick in 2010. As a result, Aldrich posted career-high, albeit underwhelming, numbers across the board. In essence, he proved to be a decent rotation center on a horrid Knicks team this season. Nonetheless, given his development and familiarity with the team's system, Aldrich may be offered an opportunity to return to New York during free agency this summer.

Aldrich was very effective during Wednesday's loss to the Detroit Pistons, finishing with 24 points (11-16 FG, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots over 27 minutes.

Aldrich ended the season on a strong note, as the 24 points were a new season-high. When Aldrich saw extended playing time this season, he was often able to show at least some production, so we'll have to wait and see if he finds a team that he can have even more of a role for next season. He'll be a free agent going into the offseason.

Aldrich led the Knicks with 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-3 FT) and 14 rebounds in 26 minutes in the win over the Magic on Saturday.

The former Kansas Jayhawk had his first double-double since Mar. 10. He had not played more than 13 minutes in any of his first five games in April, but came through with a big game in the Knicks' 16th win of the season.

Aldrich will get the start in place of Andrea Bargnani on Friday.

Bargnani is sick, so Aldrich will move into the starting lineup, joining Quincy Acy and Lance Thomas in the frontcourt. Aldrich should see a decent minutes load, but he's not a favorable option in most formats.

Aldrich scored just two points (0-4 FG, 2-2 FT), but added nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, and five blocks in his 16 minutes in the Knicks' loss to the Warriors on Saturday.

Aldrich has not topped 30 minutes since January 7th, but the bug man has been productive of late in limited court time. In his past seven games, Aldrich has averaged 8.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 2.3 blocks in just 20 minutes, shooting a stellar 92 percent from the line. His value is very specific, but he could be a matchup turner, for his great ability to contribute in blocks.

Aldrich scored 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-3 FT) with 13 rebounds and one block in 29 minutes Tuesday.

Aldrich played significantly more minutes than starter Lou Amundson (16) and Jason Smith (18), and posted much better stats than those two as well. It's possible that Aldrich could force his way into the starting lineup, and is worth monitoring in deeper leagues, and in daily.

Aldrich compiled eight points (3-8 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, and one block in 26 minutes off the bench Saturday against the Pacers.

Aldrich moved up the depth chart because Lou Amundson (back) was scratched and Jason Smith was limited due to foul trouble. He's someone to keep an eye on in case Amundson's back issues linger.

Aldrich (leg) returned from a three game absence Friday, logging nine minutes against the Nets. He did not score, but tallied one rebound, one assist, and two blocks.

Aldrich proved earlier this season that, given a decent workload, he is capable of quality fantasy production. If he can maneuver his way back into a larger role in the rotation, he is likely to be a strong source of rebounds.

Aldrich (leg) will be available to play in Friday's game against the Nets, Newsday reports.

Aldrich has been sidelined for the Knicks' past three games due to a shin bruise, but he's been cleared to return to the rotation ahead of Friday night's crosstown contest. While Aldrich may struggle offensively, he's a useful source of rebounds in deeper fantasy formats.

Coach Derek Fisher said he hopes to have Aldrich (leg) back for Friday's game against Brooklyn.

Aldrich has missed three straight games with a shin bruise, and he remains questionable to play. If he's able to return Friday, he'll likely play close to the 21.0 minutes he averaged in the month of January, when he posted 5.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Aldrich (shin) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game.

He will miss his third straight game with the injury, and should be considered day-to-day. Lou Amundson will start at center with Jason Smith at power forward for the Knicks on Tuesday.
