Sat Feb 21 201519:21Larry Sanders: Agrees To Buyout
Sanders (personal) and the Bucks have agreed to terms of a buyout, Yahoo! Sports reports.
According to a report earlier this week, Sanders accepted a deal that will pay $15 million of the $36 million remaining on his contract, with the remainder to be paid over the next seven years per the NBA's stretch provision. Meanwhile, the Bucks will continue to entrust John Henson and Zaza Pachulia with center duties.
Wed Feb 18 201512:41Sanders and Bucks are close to finalizing buyout
Sanders and the Bucks are close to finalizing a buyout, TNT's David Aldridge reports.
While nothing is official, the two sides are believed to have a deal in place that would buy Sanders out of the remaining $36 million on his contract. According to reports, Sanders will accept a deal that will pay him just $15 million, which the Bucks will stretch over the next seven years to minimize cap impact. The figures could still change, but at this point Sanders time with the Bucks appears to be over, and it's unclear what the future holds for the embattled big man.
Tue Feb 17 201512:51Larry Sanders: Bucks, Sanders Continue To Move Toward Buyout
Sanders (personal) and the Bucks continue to work toward a buyout, Sam Amick of USA Today Sports reports.
While nothing is set in stone at this point, the belief is that the two sides are moving toward an agreement that would buy the embattled center out of his four-year, $44 million deal. Details remain sketchy surrounding his absence from the team, but it appears his tenure with the Bucks could be coming to a close within the near future. Sanders has appeared in 27 games this season, making 26 starts, after injuries and a suspension limited him to just 23 games in 2013-14.
Mon Feb 16 201509:26Larry Sanders: Bucks Discussing Buyout
Sanders and the Bucks have started discussions to buy out the remaining two years of his contract, ESPN.com reports.
Having played in just 50 games since signing the contract prior to the 2013-14 season, Sanders has been a disappointment on and off the floor for the Bucks. An enigmatic talent, Sanders was most recently suspended 10 games for violating the league's anti-drug program. Regardless of whether the two sides can agree to a buyout, it's expected that Sanders has already played his last game in a Bucks uniform.
Wed Feb 11 201521:35Larry Sanders: (Personal) Remains Out
Sanders's suspension has ended, but he missed Wednesday's game against the Kings due to personal reasons, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Sanders started a league-imposed, 10-game suspension on Jan. 19 for a violation of the anti-drug policy. However, he remains away from the Bucks due to personal issues, which have kept him off the court since Dec. 23. There's no telling when he'll return to action, but his teammates are next slated to take the court on Friday, Feb. 20 against the Nuggets.

GM John Hammond said Tuesday that the team is still unsure when Sanders (suspension) will return, Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports. "Nothing has been determined at this point," Hammond said. "We'll just continue to follow the progress."
In mid-January, the league handed Sanders a 10-game suspension for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy. While the suspension technically expired following Friday's loss to Houston, Sanders must be in "compliance with his treatment program" before he's able tor return. What, exactly, that entails is unclear at this point, but the big man should be considered out indefinitely.
Fri Feb 6 201522:54Sanders still needs approval from league before he can return to...
Sanders still needs approval from the league before he can return to the lineup after his minimum 10-game suspension expired Friday, the Journal Sentinel reports.
Sanders' suspension will be lifted if he is in "full compliance" with his treatment program, according to the report. Jorge Gutierrez's 10-day deal also expired after Friday's game, leaving the Bucks with an open roster spot. If Sanders has to miss more time, expect John Hanson to continue to start.
Fri Jan 16 201515:46Larry Sanders: Suspended For A Minimum 10 Games
Sanders will be suspended for at least 10 games without pay, starting Monday, for violating the league's anti-drug policy, Andrew Gruman of FOX Sports reports.
The length of Sanders' suspension depends on his "compliance with his treatment program," so it's possible that he may be suspended longer than just 10 games. If he goes through the necessary steps and is only suspended for 10 games his next available date to return to the court will be Feb. 7 against the Celtics. Although, it's important to realize that he's been off the court since Dec. 23 for personal reasons and may not actually start playing once his suspension is over.
Wed Jan 14 201511:13Sanders still out with personal issues
Sanders is still out with personal issues, but he recently told reporters he was working with the Bucks to get in a position where he can play for the team again, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
While this update is still very vague, it does continue to give hope that Sanders will play yet this season. All reports have simply referenced "personal issues" as the reason Sanders is out, and while we do not know the severity of these issues, it appears that the Bucks are willing to help Sanders through whatever he's going through. Until we get more details on this situation, all we can do is consider Sanders out indefinitely.
Tue Jan 6 201519:33Larry Sanders: (Personal) In Street Clothes For Tuesday's Game
Sanders (personal) was seen on the Bucks' bench in street clothes talking with teammates prior to Tuesday's game, Fox Sports Wisconsin's Andrew Gruman reports.
It is difficult to say for sure if Sanders or coach Jason Kidd is calling the shots with regard to his inactive status. Kidd said he expects Sanders back with the team in the near future, which came to pass Tuesday, but it remains to be seen when he will take the court again. Continue to consider Sanders out indefinitely for now, although the fact that he was present for Tuesday's game is a good sign.
Tue Jan 6 201514:07Sanders (personal) not present at Tuesday's shootaround
Sanders (personal) was not present at Tuesday's shootaround, CF Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Judging from Monday's conflicting reports, few people truly know what's going on with Sanders, but coach Jason Kidd said he expects the center to be back with the team in the near future. It looks like that won't be Tuesday against the Suns, however, so Zaza Pachulia is likely to make another start at center. If Sanders does return to the team soon, it's unknown whether he'd step back in as the starter.
Mon Jan 5 201517:33Contrary to earlier report
Contrary to an earlier report, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reports Sanders (personal) is planning to rejoin the Bucks in the next couple of days.
Details regarding Sanders' situation continue to be extremely murky, as Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times reported earlier Monday that "sources" informed him Sanders told the Bucks he's no longer interested in playing basketball. However, this new report seems to corroborate what the team has been saying all along, that Sanders is dealing with an illness and has remained away from the team. Still, the general belief is that Sanders is dealing with a personal issue of some sort, but it's best not to speculate at this point. From a fantasy perspective, continue to consider Sanders day-to-day.
Mon Jan 5 201515:56Sanders apparently no longer interested in playing basketball
Sanders is apparently no longer interested in playing basketball, Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times reports.
It's important to note that Woelfel's information comes via "sources," not Sanders himself, but the center reportedly told team officials that he no longer wants to play basketball. Sanders has been away from the team for the past six games due to personal issues, but the Bucks have not offered any insight into what, exactly, Sanders is dealing with. The enigmatic VCU product has dealt with a number of on and off-court issues since entering the league in 2010, most notably a nightclub brawl last winter followed by a marijuana suspension later in the season. At this point, it's unlikely Sanders returns to the team anytime soon, but it's too early to definitively state that he won't return this season.
Fri Jan 2 201519:05Larry Sanders: Out Indefinitely For Personal Reasons
Sanders is away from the team for personal reasons, according to coach Jason Kidd, and there is no timetable for his return, Fox Sports Wisconsin's Andrew Gruman reports.
It was previously believed that Sanders was dealing with an illness, and while that may be the case, it also seems like something more serious is at play here. He has not taken part in team activities recently, and owners in should not expect him to assume a significant role with the Bucks anytime soon. In the meantime, John Henson and Zaza Pachulia have fantasy value in deeper leagues simply due their availability to play in a frontcourt, which all of a sudden is lacking impact options.
Fri Jan 2 201509:52Larry Sanders: (Illness) Loses Role As Starter
Sanders (illness) will not play against the Pacers on Friday and is not expected to return to the starting lineup when he eventually overcomes his ailment, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Coach Jason Kidd indicated that Sanders will have to work his way back into the starting lineup when he returns to health. Almost certainly this seems to be directly related to the solid performances of Zaza Pachulia and John Henson at center during Sanders' time off the court. This should certainly startle those that have a vested interest in Sanders, although Kidd's starting lineup has been a revolving door this season so all hope is not lost for Sanders to regain his position as the starting center at some point in the near future.
