Mon Mar 15 202114:38NBA probe finds no proof of bigoted remark toward Millsap
The NBA said Monday that an investigation into whether Utah Jazz player Elijah Millsap had a bigoted remark directed at him during an end-of-season interview six years ago has ended and was unable to find proof that the statement was made. Millsap alleged last month that Dennis Lindsey, then the team’s general manager and now its executive vide president, said “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black ass and send you back to Louisiana" during that April 2015 meeting. Lindsey denied saying that, and the NBA's review — done by the league and with independent counsel — could not prove otherwise. Millsap and Lindsey were both interviewed, the NBA said, as were others who were part of that meeting. That would include Jazz coach Quin Snyder, who has said he was in the meeting but had no recollection of Lindsey using those words. “The investigation was unable to establish that the alleged statement was made," the NBA said. Millsap had no immediate comment when told of the NBA's decision. “Obviously,... [More]
Fri Feb 26 202119:23Millsap expresses concerns about probe into Jazz allegation
MIAMI (AP) — Former Utah forward Elijah Millsap said Friday that he has not yet heard from any investigators regarding his allegation that Jazz executive Dennis Lindsey made a bigoted comment to him during an end-of-season meeting in 2015. Millsap also expressed doubt that a fair investigation could take place regarding his claim that Lindsey, who then was the team’s general manager and now is an executive vice president, threated to cut his “Black ass” and send him home. Millsap made the allegation in a tweet on Wednesday. The Jazz responded Thursday by saying they would bring in outside counsel to conduct a thorough investigation, and the NBA will be part of that probe as well. “Obviously, I know my truth,” Millsap said in an interview with The Associated Press. “Some outside counsel or somebody, all they can do is just try to stir it up and make it me look as if I’m lying. I did it basically to free myself from the torture of holding things in, to free myself, not to make Dennis Lindsey... [More]
Thu Feb 25 202119:53Jazz say they will investigate allegation of bigoted comment
The Utah Jazz said they will “thoroughly investigate” an allegation from former NBA player Elijah Millsap that longtime team executive Dennis Lindsey directed a bigoted statement toward him during an end-of-season exit interview in 2015. Millsap, the brother of former Jazz standout and current Denver forward Paul Millsap, made the allegation in a tweet Wednesday. Millsap alleged that Lindsey, then the team’s general manager, said “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black ass and send you back to Louisiana.” Lindsey, now the team’s executive vice president, has denied saying that. “The Jazz organization has zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior of any kind,” the team said in a statement Thursday night. “We take these matters seriously. We have proactively engaged outside counsel to work in coordination with the NBA to thoroughly investigate this matter. We seek a comprehensive and unbiased review of the situation.” Millsap did not immediately respond to a message seeking reaction... [More]

Millsap came off the bench for 25 minutes in Wednesday's preseason game against the Lakers to contribute eight points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Millsap seems to be in line for a limited role off the bench this coming season after having a breakout rookie campaign last year under coach Quin Snyder. Barring unexpected injuries to Gordon Hayward, Joe Ingles, and Rodney Hood, Millsap will likely struggle finding relevancy in standard-sized leagues.

Millsap joined the Jazz in January from the D-League and ended up playing 47 games during his rookie season.
Millsap was immediately inserted into coach Quin Snyder's rotation upon joining the team and ended the season playing an average of 19.7 minutes per game. The team has an option on his contract for next season so he'll be eagerly awaiting their decision over the offseason. However, it would be surprising if he didn't ultimately slot back into a similar off the bench behind Gordon Hayward. With that, the 27-year-old is a stretch to be taken in standard leagues for 2015-16 drafts when considering he'll also be competing for minutes with Rodney Hood.

Millsap returned to the bench Friday against the Nuggets but still managed to contribute 16 points, three rebounds, three steals, and one block in 17 minutes of action.
Millsap has had a fair share of opportunities as a starter this season, but hasn't provided enough consistency to maintain his spot. He's shown sparks of fantasy upside at times this season, and he could potentially be a solid option in future seasons. However, he can be massively ignored in all leagues for the next few weeks of the season.

Millsap logged 23 minutes of action off the bench against the Lakers on Thursday. He finished with three points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks.
Millsap dealt with concussion-like symptoms earlier in the week but the Utah medical staff came to the conclusion that he ultimately didn't have a concussion, meaning that he wasn't actually forced to miss anytime off the court. He's been a solid addition for the Jazz this season but he hasn't quite worked his way into standard-league relevancy just yet as he's averaging only 16.8 minutes over his last eight games.

Millsap (concussion) will not play Wednesday against the Wizards and could miss up to a week of action, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Millsap suffered the concussion in Monday's game against the Hornets, and he should be considered out indefinitely. The Jazz also play Thursday, but it seems highly doubtful Millsap will be able to return for that game against the Lakers.
Tue Mar 17 201514:16Millsap (concussion) could miss up to week
Millsap (concussion) could miss up to a week, Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Millsap sustained a concussion Monday against the Hornets and is currently considered day-to-day. At this point, it's unlikely he plays Wednesday against Washington, and he could miss another game or two if symptoms persist.

Millsap suffered a concussion in Monday's game against the Hornets and his availability for Wednesday's contest against the Wizards is now in question, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Millsap should be considered day-to-day as the Utah medical staff surveys him over the next couple of days. He's likely headed for a game-time decision against the Wizards until the Jazz say otherwise.

Millsap moved back to his normal role off the bench Thursday against the Rockets. He finished with two points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal after spending just 12 minutes on the court.
This is a pretty typical box score from Millsap as he'll continue to play minimal minutes off the bench behind Gordon Hayward. As a result, Millsap is only a viable option in the deepest of leagues.

Millsap will come off the bench Thursday against the Rockets.
Millsap entered the starting five with Gordon Hayward (back) sidelined Tuesday versus the Knicks. No matter, Millsap logged only 14 minutes due to foul trouble, while fellow reserve Joel Ingles accrued 36 minutes. Millsap had 17 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), seven rebounds and one assists in 30 minutes against the Lakers on Wednesday.
17 points is a new season high for Millsap, whose previous high was 12 points back on Jan. 21 against the Cavaliers in 21 minutes. He's played at least 26 minutes in six straight games, as the Jazz attempt to ease Rodney Hood back into the rotation. Hood has 11 points in 20 minutes on Wednesday.

Millsap scored seven points (1-3 FG, 5-6 FT) with seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes in his first NBA start Saturday.
With the Jazz missing Joe Ingles (back) and Rodney Hood (foot), Millsap was thrust into the limelight, but with Ingles and Hood due back very soon, any value Millsap has will be cut down. He is not someone that you need to pay a lot of attention to in most leagues.

Millsap will start for Joe Ingles (back) against the Kings on Saturday, the Deseret News reports.
Millsap is unlikely to play much more than his typical workload of 19 minutes per contest, especially with Trey Burke and Dante Exum present in the backcourt. Nevertheless, Millsap could hold value in the short term in terms of steals and three-pointers.
