Fri May 8 201518:40Marmol signed minor league contract with Indians on Friday
Marmol signed a minor league contract with the Indians on Friday.
Marmol played in 15 games for the Marlins last season but spent the majority of his time at Triple-A Louisville. He'll likely do the same for the Indians and start with Triple-A Columbus, although a promotion in the near future seems unlikely.

Marmol is in contract talks with the Indians regarding a minor league deal, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.
Marmol signed a minor league deal with Cincinnati last season, but hit the restricted list after leaving Triple-A Louisville without the club's permission. The deal with Cleveland's organization is not set in stone, but if he does agree to terms, there's no guarantee that he'd crack the major league roster.
Tue Jun 17 201415:43Marmol not sure he'll pitch again this year
Carlos Marmol's agent, Paul Kinzer, told CBS Sports' Jon Heyman via text message that he's not sure if his client will pitch again this season.
Marmol, who signed a minor league deal with the Reds in late May, was placed on the restricted list at Triple-A Louisville last week after leaving the team without permission. "A lot has happened in the past year and he decided to go to the Dominican," wrote Kinzer. "We aren't sure when or if he will return this year." Kinzer didn't specify why Marmol left the team, but he indicated that there were "personal" reasons behind it and that he wants to "take a mental break."

Wed Jun 11 201416:32Marmol's agent says client is taking a break
Carlos Marmol's agent Paul Kinzer said Wednesday that his client has "decided to take a break."
Marmol was placed on the restricted list at Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday after leaving the team without permission. "He decided to take a break and just focus on getting back on track," Kinzer told Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish. "He's still healthy and should still be in his prime. His velocity was still in the mid-90s. I don't believe the Reds want to release him. He wants to get his confidence back and take a break mentally."

Wed Jun 11 201415:30Marmol goes on restricted list at Triple-A
Carlos Marmol has been placed on the restricted list at Triple-A Louisville after leaving the club without permission.
It's not clear why Marmol left or how long he plans to be gone, but obviously it's not ideal as he tries to make it back to the majors. The reliever was signed to a minor league deal two weeks ago after being released by the Marlins. Marmol has allowed three runs while walking six over 3 2/3 frames at Louisville.

Mon May 19 201413:36Marlins release veteran righty Carlos Marmol
Marlins released RHP Carlos Marmol.
Marmol was designated for assignment by the Fish eight days ago and apparently drew no interest from other teams on the waiver wire. He surrendered 12 earned runs in 13 1/3 innings (15 relief appearances) for Miami. The Marlins will eat whatever remains from the one-year, $1.25 million free agent contract he signed in mid-February.

Sun May 11 201400:41Marlins to DFA Carlos Marmol
The Marlins will designate Carlos Marmol for assignment on Sunday, Marlins manager Mike Redmond said.
Since Dan Jennings has to spend a few more days in the minors before being recalled, Sam Dyson could be the choice to replace Marmol in the bullpen for now. He has a 2.76 ERA in 16 1/3 innings in relief in Triple-A.

Sun May 11 201400:29Carlos Marmol gives up four runs in loss
Carlos Marmol gave up four runs in an inning and took his third loss in relief Saturday against the Padres.
This might bring an end to the Marmol era in Miami. He's given up 12 runs and three homers in 13 1/3 innings, sprinkling in 10 walks along the way. The Marlins can't yet recall Dan Jennings to replace him, but they can find someone else to step in until Jennings' 10 days in the minors are up.

Dierkes says teams are watching Marmol in the Dominican Winter League and there's a "good chance" the reliever finds a new club this month. The enigmatic righty struck out 59 over 49 frames for the Cubs and Dodgers this past season but also posted a 4.41 ERA and 1.63 WHIP.

Mon Dec 9 201317:36Report: Brewers, Red Sox interested in Marmol
Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Brewers and Red Sox are among the teams interested in free agent reliever Carlos Marmol.
Marmol posted a 2.53 ERA over 21 appearances after joining the Dodgers around mid-season this year and struck out 27 batters over 21 1/3 innings. That's not say that he's fixed, as his control was just as bad as ever, but it's no surprise that teams still see some upside here.

Sat Oct 12 201310:11Dodgers recall Marmol to active roster
Dodgers activated RHP Carlos Marmol.
Marmol, acquired from the Cubs on July 2 in exchange for Matt Guerrier, posted a 2.53 ERA and 27/19 K/BB ratio in 21 appearances for the Dodgers. He coughed up just one run over his final 19 appearances of the regular season. Marmol wasn't used in Game 1's 13-inning loss to the Cardinals, but five of his bullpen mates were, which means that the right-hander should be prepared to go during Saturday afternoon's Game 2 tilt.

Tue Jul 23 201316:18Dodgers promote Carlos Marmol from minors
Dodgers purchased the contract of RHP Carlos Marmol from Double-A Chatanooga.
Marmol will pitch in middle relief for Los Angeles. He was acquired from the Cubs on July 2 in exchange for Matt Guerrier and has displayed a bit of promise over the past few weeks in the Dodgers' minor league system, but we wouldn't expect a sudden career resurrection.

Carlos Marmol has a locker in the Dodgers' clubhouse.
The Dodgers have yet to make an official announcement, but this would seem to indicate that he's been called up to the majors. Marmol has been working on his mechanics since being acquired from the Cubs earlier this month, posting a 3.60 ERA and 6/2 K/BB ratio over five innings between High-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Chattanooga.
