Boston Celtics point guard
Dennis Schroder and centers
Enes Freedom and
Bruno Fernando have reportedly been dealt to the Houston Rockets just prior to the trade deadline on Thursday, with the Celtics acquiring center
Daniel Theis in exchange. Schroder delivered a solid 49-game stint with Boston, but he became expendable after the team acquired
Derrick White from San Antonio. By joining the Rockets, Schroder -- who is set to become an unrestricted free agent again at season's end -- should have sizable offensive upside, but he is likely to be less of a priority than the development of
Kevin Porter Jr. and
Jalen Green. Freedom and Fernando both face difficult paths to playing time with
Christian Wood locking the Rockets center spot down for the foreseeable future.
