Wed Mar 7 201218:08Battie slated to start on Wednesday
Tony Battie will get a start against the Celtics on Wednesday.
With Thaddeus Young (illness) sidelined, Doug Collins is shifting his rotation to move the veteran into the starting five. Battie is averaging just 2.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in nine starts this year.

Wed Feb 22 201219:06Battie, Allen to start for Sixers
Tony Battie and Lavoy Allen will start for the Sixers on Wednesday, leaving Nikola Vucevic and Thaddeus Young to come off the bench.
Battie is starting in place of Elton Brand one night after Andres Nocioni started in his place. Nocioni didn't do much of anything last night, but we're not expecting any miracles for Battie, either. Allen, on the other hand, is an interesting fantasy option right now.

Wed Feb 15 201222:44Battie (ankle) a DNP-CD on Wednesday
Tony Battie (ankle) was healthy enough to play but did not step foot on the floor for Wednesday's game against the Magic.
Battie is the third-string center behind rookies Lavoy Allen and Nikola Vucevic, and has no fantasy value.

Wed Feb 15 201211:57Tony Battie (ankle) good to go Wednesday
Updating a previous item, Tony Battie (ankle) will play on Wednesday.
Battie's ankle issue won't keep him out of action but this news should have zero impact on your fantasy league.

Wed Feb 15 201211:07Tony Battie rolls ankle, might be out Wed.
Tony Battie rolled his ankle and "might not play" on Wednesday.
With Spencer Hawes (Achilles) already out, Battie's absence would mean a heavy helping of rookies Lavoy Allen and Nikola Vucevic.

Mon Jan 30 201222:54Battie starts for injured center duo on Mon
Tony Battie started for injured Spencer Hawes (Achilles) on Monday, scoring eight points on 3-of-5 shooting with nine rebounds and no other stats in 17 minutes.
This is Battie's ceiling, and owners would have to be in very deep leagues and be very desperate to take a chance that he can repeat this down the road. Hawes has been day-to-day for a very long time and Nikola Vucevic (knee/quad) was active but not called upon in a game that wasn't as close as the 74-69 score would entail.

Mon Jan 30 201216:54Tony Battie to start once again
Tony Battie will start Monday's game against the Magic.
Even if Nikola Vucevic (game-time decision, knee/quad) is a go, Battie will get the nod. The veteran has no prayer against Dwight Howard. In five starts this year, Battie is averaging 2.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.2 blocks.

Mon Jan 23 201223:43Battie starts and plays 17 minutes vs. WAS
Tony Battie started at center with Spencer Hawes (Achilles) and Nikola Vucevic (quad) both out, and scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting with two rebounds and a steal in 17 minutes.
This is not unreasonable to expect every night, so obviously owners should not be looking at Battie as a fantasy asset.

Mon Jan 23 201216:34Tony Battie will start for Sixers
Tony Battie will start Monday's game against the Wizards.
Spencer Hawes (Achilles) and Nikola Vucevic (quad) are out. Battie has started one game earlier this year, but hasn't topped 13 minutes all season. He'll be 36 in February and all his shot-blocking athleticism has been sapped. Even the most desperate owners should be able to do better. Thaddeus Young is expected to log heavy minutes Monday as an undersized big.

Mon Dec 12 201117:16Sixers re-sign C Tony Battie
The Sixers re-signed C Tony Battie on Monday.
Marreese Speights is likely done in Philly, while Battie should be nothing more than a backup.

Fri Dec 9 201112:44Sixers set to re-sign C Tony Battie
The 76ers will re-sign veteran center Tony Battie once free agency opens on Friday.
That will give the Sixers 12 players under contract for today's camp opening, although Battie isn't expected to have any fantasy value.

Mon Mar 28 201111:52Tony Battie may be sidelined with flu on Mon.
Tony Battie is officially a game time decision on Monday after a nasty bout of the flu.
I'm sure the team will survive without him. He's averaged less than ten minutes a game in March so his absence shouldn't have much of an impact on the rotation if he misses.

Sun Mar 13 201100:58Battie (wrist) returns to action on Saturday
Tony Battie (wrist) returned to action on Saturday, playing eight minutes with two rebounds to his credit.
Even if he was to benefit from a number of injuries, it's doubtful he would have any real fantasy value.

Wed Mar 9 201101:36Battie (wrist) does not play on Tuesday
Tony Battie (wrist) did not play on Tuesday against the Pacers and there is no timetable for his return.
We're calling him out indefinitely until a report emerges otherwise, and it's possible he has simply fallen out of the rotation.

Sat Feb 12 201119:00Tony Battie out again on Saturday
Tony Battie is out again on Saturday with a wrist injury.
Look for Marreese Speights and Darius Songaila to make a little noise tonight, emphasis on the word 'little.'

Fri Jan 14 201111:32Battie listed as game-time decision
Tony Battie (shoulder) is listed as game-time decision for Friday's game against the Bucks.
Spencer Hawes is reeling, and Battie's potential return could eat into the starter's minutes even more. Coach Doug Collins likes playing Battie for his post defense in the guts of games.

Tony Battie will miss Monday's game with a shoulder injury.
He's missed a few games with the injury, but has not fantasy value either way.
