F Greg Smith was active one day after signing a 10-day contract with the Wolves, and he scored four points in almost 10 minutes of action. Smith spent parts of four NBA seasons with the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks from 2011 to 2015.

Smith signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Pelicans on Friday, Scott Kushner of the New Orleans Advocate reports.

Smith spent last season with the Mavericks but had trouble finding a consistent, averaging just 8.6 minutes per game across 42 contests. He's just two seasons removed from averaging nearly 16 minutes while playing in 70 games for the Rockets, but the 24-year-old is in danger of falling out of the league, and his chances of cracking the Pels' opening night roster are relatively slim.

Smith played for the Hawks' summer league team, averaging 4.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.3 steals in 16 minutes per game through three contests.

While playing for the Mavericks last season, Smith averaged 1.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 0.2 steals in 8.6 minutes per game through 42 games. The four-year veteran remains a free agent, and if signed it is unlikely that he will play a large role with a team.

Smith averaged 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in 42 games played with Dallas during the 2014-15 season. He failed to find minutes in a loaded Mavericks front court.

Smith struggled to find playing time playing behind Tyson Chandler and Dirk Nowitzki and took another step back when the team acquired Amar'e Stoudemire. He will enter free agency in the offseason but remains a limited role player.

Smith was active for the first time this postseason but never left the bench in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Rockets.

Smith was inactive for Game 1 but joined the active roster with Chandler Parsons (knee) and Devin Harris (toe) unable to suit up.

Smith was one of Dallas' two inactive players Wednesday, joining Dwight Powell as healthy scratches.

Dallas fielded a healthy 15-man roster Wednesday, pushing Smith off the active lineup. He has played just seven total minutes since the beginning of March.

Smith missed his lone shot attempt Monday in a loss to the Clippers. He grabbed four rebounds and one block.

Smith moved ahead of Dwight Powell on the Dallas depth chart. The team plays Saturday in Orlando which should give fantasy owners a chance to see if the bump is temporary or not.
