Wed Mar 621:24Jae Crowder Active On Wednesday
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (knee) is available ahead of Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The veteran forward was uncertain coming into this game due to a left knee contusion. However, Crowder feels good enough to play and should resume his role in the starting five. Crowder has been seeing an increase in playing time lately with Khris Middleton (ankle) still out. That being said, Crowder should continue to have increased value until Middleton is able to get back on the court.

Tue Jan 1615:23Jae Crowder Cleared To Return Wednesday
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (core), who has been out for the last two months following core-muscle surgery, has been cleared to return to the team's lineup on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. While Crowder's availability is unlikely to impact fantasy hoops right off the bat, it's worth noting that he's among Milwaukee's leaders in minutes per game (26.7) as an active presence on the defensive end and effective spot-up shooter on offense (51.6% three-point shooting over nine games). The 33-year-old journeyman's return is likely bad news for the sharpshooting Malik Beasley's wing minutes as the Bucks' fifth starter. Across 29 starts since Nov. 13, Beasley is averaging 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 threes on 50.0% shooting from deep in 30.6 minutes per game.

Mon Nov 13 202318:47Jae Crowder Set To Miss Eight Weeks With Groin, Abdominal Tear
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (abdominal, groin) first suffered a groin injury on Saturday during the team's game against the Orlando Magic, and after further evaluation, it was found that he had a left-adductor and abdominal tear. The team announced that Crowder is now expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will miss approximately eight weeks. He'll likely be re-evaluated at the end of the eight weeks to make sure the recovery process went according to plan. While he's out, Bobby Portis, MarJon Beauchamp, and Pat Connaughton will likely see added playing time off of the bench.

Sun Nov 12 202322:47Jae Crowder Will Miss Game Against Bulls
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (groin) was forced to exit the team's game on Saturday due to a groin strain and they have already ruled him out for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls for the same reason. Crowder has been seeing almost 10 more minutes per contest this season after only playing 18 total games during the year prior. He's been a solid contributor off of the bench, but he hasn't been very fantasy-relevant just yet. While he's sidelined, MarJon Beauchamp and Pat Connaughton will likely see more minutes, but they would both be risky streaming options in shallower leagues.

Sat Nov 11 202321:00Jae Crowder Exits Early On Saturday
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (groin) was unable to finish out Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic. The veteran forward was forced to exit the game early due to a groin issue in the second quarter. He went to the locker room and didn't return, but that could've been for precautionary reasons. The loss of Crowder would be significant as he has been playing a big role for the Bucks this season. MaJon Beauchamp and Pat Connaughton would likely be asked to step up if Crowder is forced to miss more time. Neither of them are reliable fantasy options, but Connaughton might have some low-end value if given more playing time.

Sat Apr 29 202319:16Jae Crowder Frustrated With Role
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder played a total of 18 seconds during Wednesday's playoff loss to the Miami Heat. Before that, Crowder sat out Game 4 and averaged 13.6 minutes during the first three games. The veteran forward said "Eleven years. Check my resume. I've been playing. I've always been playing." It's uncertain why head coach Mike Budenholzer decided to bench Crowder for basically the final two playoff games of the season. Crowder averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 18 games with the Bucks during the regular season. The 32-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer and it seems likely that he'll sign elsewhere after seeing his usage in the postseason.

Sun Mar 19 202316:37Jae Crowder Won't Play Versus The Raptors
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder (calf) won't play against the Raptors, marking his second consecutive absence. The veteran has averaged only 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 11 games with Milwaukee, so his fantasy contributions have been minimal, at best. It's doubtful Crowder is on many fantasy rosters, and his absence won't impact Milwaukee's rotation.

Wed Feb 22 202322:23Jae Crowder Likely To Make Team Debut On Friday
Milwaukee Bucks forward Jae Crowder is expected to make his team debut against the Miami Heat on Friday. The 32-year-old hasn't played all season, but appears ready to finally get on the court. He should help provide some much-needed depth with the Bucks currently banged up. It'll likely take him a few games to get back up to speed, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Crowder to be a reliable option right away. However, Crowder could end up being a sneaky option at full speed, assuming Giannis Antetokounmpo (wrist) misses time.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Thu Feb 9 202313:41Jae Crowder Moves On To Milwaukee
Veteran forward Jae Crowder was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday less than 24 hours after the Brooklyn Nets picked him up from Phoenix in the Kevin Durant trade. The Indiana Pacers were also involved in the trade, acquiring Jordan Nwora and Serge Ibaka from Milwaukee, along with two second-round picks. Brooklyn received five second-rounders in the deal. Crowder has so far sat out the whole season while waiting for a suitable team to pick him up and he's finally gotten his wish. The 32-year-old averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals for Phoenix last season as a starter. He will be a nice depth piece for Milwaukee, but will likely struggle to make a big impact in fantasy basketball. Nwora and Ibaka don't have a clear path to consistent minutes in Indiana either and should remain on the waiver wire.

Thu Feb 9 202308:42Jae Crowder Finally Moving On From Phoenix
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Jae Crowder finally had his wish granted and was traded away to the Brooklyn Nets (with Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson) for Kevin Durant and T.J. Warren. Crowder has yet to play a game this season as he was holding out in Phoenix, but he could be worth a flyer in deeper leagues now that he could actually see the floor. There are rumors that he could still be moved one more time, but fantasy managers will want to keep tabs on any updates as to his return before making a move.

Mon Oct 10 202213:13Hawks A Potential Landing Spot For Jae Crowder
Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder has stayed away from the organization during training camp and hasn't played during the preseason. It sounds like the veteran forward has no plans of playing for Phoenix again. The front office is reportedly looking for a trade partner for Crowder. The Atlanta Hawks have emerged as a possible landing spot for him. It's worth noting that Crowder does appear to have a busy market, so he should get moved shortly. A move to Atlanta probably won't do too much for his fantasy value.

Thu Oct 6 202222:27Heat Interested In Bringing Back Jae Crowder
The Heat have expressed interest in acquiring Suns forward Jae Crowder, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN. The 32-year-old has suited up for the Suns over the last two seasons. However, after Crowder learned he will likely see a reduced role moving ahead, he requested a trade. The veteran played in Miami briefly during the 2019-20 campaign, averaging 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals while shooting 44.5% from deep. If he returns to the Heat, he'll likely take P.J. Tucker's spot at the four. With that said, Miami will have a tough time sorting out the particulars financially, so if a deal is going to happen, it may not be until Dewayne Dedmon, Caleb Martin, and Victor Oladipo are eligible to be traded later in the year.

Tue Sep 20 202221:12Suns Looking To Move Jae Crowder
Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder could be on the move before the season begins. The veteran forward could be moved in order for the Suns to acquire Bojan Bogdanovic from the Utah Jazz. We've seen Crowder's name come up multiple times in trade rumors during the offseason. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists in 28.1 minutes per game with the Suns last season. Crowder might be able to bring a little more value to the table, assuming he gets a bigger role elsewhere. Regardless, it's unlikely Crowder is consistent enough to roster in most formats.

Wed May 11 202221:34Jae Crowder Will Play On Thursday
Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder (shoulder) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Thursday's Game 6 against the Dallas Mavericks. The veteran forward was able to get in a full practice on Wednesday. That being said, Crowder isn't expected to be limited during Thursday's Game 6. He should return to his normal role in the rotation with the Suns having a chance to clinch the series.

Wed May 11 202210:51Jae Crowder Fouls Out Amid Rough Shooting In Game 5
Phoenix Suns power forward Jae Crowder found himself in persistent foul trouble during the team's commanding Game 5 win over Dallas on Tuesday. Crowder finished with three points, five rebounds, and two assists, but he was limited to just 27 minutes after having fouled out. After having knocked down multiple triples in each of the series' first four contests, Crowder went 1-for-5 from deep in Game 5, marking his first outing short of double figures in the series. The return of Devin Booker has eased much of the offensive burden from Crowder, but he has proven to be an adept contributor across the stat sheet when not in foul trouble. Including the regular season, Crowder has averaged 15.7 PPG in Dallas this year.

Sun May 8 202221:02Jae Crowder Plays Well On Sunday
Phoenix Suns guard Jae Crowder finished with 15 points across 36 minutes during the loss to the Mavericks on Sunday. He also added six rebounds, one block, and one steal. Despite tweaking his ankle, the veteran continued his double-digit scoring streak throughout the series. It appears Crowder will continue to get his share of minutes moving forward, so as long as his rostering cost doesn't get too crazy, he may continue to make a difference for DFS managers looking for cap relief.

Wed Apr 6 202218:11Deandre Ayton, Jae Crowder Ruled Out For Wednesday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (ankle) and power forward Jae Crowder (ankle) will be unavailable for Wednesday's game vs. the Clippers. Ayton and Crowder join Devin Booker (back) and Chris Paul (thumb) on the sidelines for the second leg of a back-to-back. JaVale McGee and Bismack Biyombo both stand to step into larger minutes and roles in the frontcourt, while Cameron Johnson, Torrey Craig, and Mikal Bridges will all see elevated usage and rebounding opportunities as well. There is little reason to be concerned about either Ayton or Crowder moving forward, with both set to return to action Friday against Utah.

Sun Mar 20 202222:26Jae Crowder Forced To Exit Early On Sunday
Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder (ankle) was forced to exit early during Sunday's win over the Sacramento Kings. The veteran forward was taken to the locker room during the third quarter due to a right ankle sprain. He landed awkwardly on the foot of another player while shooting. It's a shame because Crowder just returned from a two-game absence, so hopefully he doesn't miss more time. Torrey Craig would likely benefit the most if Crowder does miss time from this injury.
