Sat Feb 1720:08Pistons Expected To Keep Evan Fournier?
According to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, the Pistons are expected to keep guard Evan Fournier on the roster. The 31-year-old sharpshooter from France was traded to Detroit ahead of the deadline after spending three years in New York. He averaged 14.1 points in 80 games during the 2021-22 campaign. However, Fournier has played sparingly in the last two seasons and hasn't been a consistent presence in head coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation. With this in mind, it appears there is a place for him in Detroit, considering he's logged 25 minutes in two games with the Pistons. Although Fournier has a way to go before earning a spot on fantasy rosters, he's still someone to keep on the radar, especially if he keeps getting playing time with his new team.

Sat Nov 18 202317:59Evan Fournier Sitting On Saturday
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier (ankle) is out again for Friday's meeting with the Hornets. The 31-year-old played in his first game of the season on Friday night against the Wizards, scoring two points while missing all four shots from behind the arc in 16 minutes. However, he's now on the shelf with right ankle inflammation. Still, with RJ Barrett (illness) returning from a three-game absence, Fournier likely wouldn't have seen any action, at least not enough to be a viable fantasy option.

Wed Oct 11 202307:40Evan Fournier Believes He Can Still Help Knicks
New York Knicks guard/forward Evan Fournier believes he can still be a useful player for the team after getting dropped from the rotation last season. "I might be dreaming of stuff, but to me I can help the team," Fournier said at the weekend. "Like I'm a good player. I can f-;king play. I bring stuff that this team doesn't have, too." The Frenchman also promised to treat every practice and opportunity like it was his last. Fournier doesn't appear to be in Knicks' plans, but he did get a look in the team's preseason opener on Monday. The 30-year-old came off the bench to score 11 points in 21 minutes off the bench in a 114-107 win over Boston, shooting 4-for-10 from the field with a 3-for-7 record from deep. He's been a solid performer in the league for a long time, but it remains to be seen if Fournier can force his way back into Tom Thibodeau's plans for 2023-24.

Wed Aug 30 202310:00Evan Fournier Desperate To Play Again
New York Knicks guard/forward Evan Fournier is desperate to see regular action in the NBA again. The 30-year-old sharpshooter was cast aside by the Knicks last season, suiting up for just 27 games and sitting out the entire playoff campaign, but Fournier believes that he can still be a useful player. "We'll see. Obviously, I want to play again. I want to have success. I know I can help. I know I can play, I know I can do many things," Fournier told Eurohoops about his situation in New York. The 11-year veteran has certainly proved some doubters wrong at the World Cup, averaging 21.7 points for France. However, he appeared to have burned his bridges with his current team and Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau earlier in the summer, so Fournier likely needs to find himself another club for the 2023-24 campaign to fill his ambitions of seeing regular playing time.

Sat Jul 22 202310:35Spurs Have Interest In Evan Fournier
According to Ian Begley of SNY, the San Antonio Spurs are interested in acquiring New York Knicks guard/forward Evan Fournier. The 30-year-old Frenchman is fully expected to leave New York ahead of the 2023-24 NBA campaign after playing a very marginal role for the team last season. San Antonio appears to be a good landing spot for Fournier, and he's also talked positively about the potential move and linking up with fellow Frenchman Victor Wembanyama. "It's not the Spurs of 2014 anymore but playing for coach Pop and learning from him, it would be a pleasure and an honor, for sure," Fournier said in an interview with L'Equipe. "Being with Victor, looking at the Olympics, being able to start chemistry on the court, that would be great." Fournier has spent 11 seasons in the NBA, averaging 14.0 points with 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Fri Jul 14 202323:22Knicks Still Seeking To Trade Evan Fournier
The New York Knicks are still exploring trade possibilities involving shooting guard Evan Fournier. Jake Fischer of Yahoo reports that "rival front offices continue to say New York remains engaged on trade avenues for veteran shooter Evan Fournier". The 30-year-old marksman fell out of the rotation in favor of Quentin Grimes last season, bottoming out with 6.1 points and 1.3 threes per game over 27 games in 2022-2023. New York's offseason addition of Donte DiVincenzo may also serve as the writing on the wall for Fournier's potential departure. He is owed over $18 million next year with a team option for 2024-2025.

Tue Jun 27 202318:03Knicks Could Be Looking To Trade Evan Fournier
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier was rumored to be traded at the trade deadline this past season, but he remained in New York City where he ended up seeing barely any playing time by the time the season ended. According to Nathaniel Marrero and Andy Bailey, the Knicks are likely to ship Fournier out now that he's essentially in the last year of his deal. He's set to make $18.8 million next season but then has a team option for the remaining year after that. Rebuilding teams are more likely to take his contract on since it's essentially an expiring one.

Sun Jun 4 202318:27Spurs Reportedly Interested In Evan Fournier
The San Antonio Spurs are expected to have some interest in New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier during this offseason. Fournier was pushed out of the rotation in New York and has expected to be traded. The Spurs have reportedly had some interest in making a deal for Fournier and would likely not have to give up much. The Spurs would have a mentor for projected first overall pick Victor Wembanyama and the Knicks would be able to unload some cap space as they look to retool this summer.

Sat May 13 202313:21Evan Fournier Expects To Be Traded
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier expects the team to trade him this offseason. "You know I'm not gonna be back," Fournier stated during a recent interview. "There's no way they're gonna keep me. I would be very surprised if they do. So, we'll see." The 30-year-old averaged a hideous 6.1 points and shot a career-low 30.7% from deep this season (27 games). Fournier has one year remaining on an expiring deal (and a team-option in 2024-25), making him an enticing trade piece for a rebuilding team, especially one hoping to acquire draft picks or up-and-coming prospects heading into the 2023-24 campaign. Of course, his fantasy outlook will hinge on where he lands next and whether he'll receive routine minutes.

Sat Feb 25 202318:46Evan Fournier Available On Saturday
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier (illness) has been cleared to suit up for Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 30-year-old was questionable heading into this game, but appears he's feeling good enough to get back on the court. The veteran guard hasn't done much for the Knicks lately. In fact, Fournier has only appeared in four of the last 20 games. It's unlikely that Fournier has much of a role in the rotation unless someone gets injured. That being said, fantasy managers can avoid Fournier in basically all formats right now.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Tue Jan 24 202319:20Immanuel Quickley In, Evan Fournier Out Tuesday
New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley (knee) will play Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Evan Fournier (personal), on the other hand, will not play due to the birth of his child. Fournier had been getting increased minutes due to Quickley's absence, but now Quickley should reclaim his normal role as the first man off the bench. Fournier will likely be phased out of the rotation while Quickley is healthy.

Wed Dec 14 202223:10Lakers Interested In Evan Fournier
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier is on the Lakers' radar, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic. The 30-year-old has averaged 14.2 points while shooting 38.0% from behind the arc throughout his career. He's played in 13 games this season, starting seven of them, but has fallen out of the rotation of late. With Los Angeles in desperate need of a potent shooting threat, Fournier should help in that area. Depending how many minutes he gets in Hollywood, assuming he lands there, he could be an asset for managers in deep category leagues.

Thu Mar 31 202215:07Evan Fournier Hits Six Threes, Drops 30 Points
New York Knicks shooting guard Evan Fournier had one of his best games of the year in Wednesday night's 125-114 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. He shot 10-for-16 from the field and 6-for-8 from three-point range on the way to a team-high 30 points. He also had four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Fournier had been really struggling shooting the ball lately. He'd made just six of his 28 attempts from three-point land across his three games before this one. We'll see if he can carry over Wednesday's success to his next game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.

Wed Mar 30 202218:15Evan Fournier To Be Active On Wednesday
New York Knicks shooting guard Evan Fournier (personal) will be active for Wednesday night's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Fournier had previously been ruled out for the game due to personal reasons, but that status has officially been reversed. The 29-year-old has been really struggling with his shot lately. He's connected on just 6-of-28 shots from beyond the arc over his last three games. He's been getting plenty of playing time, averaging 29.1 minutes per game in March. However, he has failed to make many positive contributions during his time on the court this month.

Wed Mar 30 202215:09Evan Fournier Upgraded To Questionable
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier (personal) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. He was originally ruled out, but it sounds like there's a chance he does suit up. The Knicks could certainly use Fournier with Quentin Grimes (knee) already ruled out. Otherwise, Miles McBride could be looking at extended run, but is a shaky fantasy option. It could end up being a big night for RJ Barrett, assuming the Knicks are shorthanded for this one.

Sat Jan 8 202218:44Evan Fournier, Nerlens Noel Will Miss Saturday’s Game
New York Knicks shooting guard Evan Fournier (thigh) and center Nerlens Noel (conditioning) have been ruled out for Saturday's contest against the Celtics. Fournier's absence is particularly troublesome for New York after the 29-year-old scorched Boston for a season-high 41 points Thursday; in three matchups vs. the Celtics this season, Fournier has averaged 35 PPG. Alec Burks and Quentin Grimes are likely to take on larger backcourt roles, while more of the offensive impetus will be funneled toward Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Noel will be missing his ninth consecutive game, allowing Mitchell Robinson to hold down the center spot. The next chance for Fournier or Noel to return comes Monday vs. San Antonio.

Fri Dec 31 202119:20Evan Fournier Will Play Versus Thunder
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier (ankle) will play during Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has been dealing with right ankle soreness, but will play through it here. His fantasy value should be on the rise with Julius Randle in COVID-19 protocols. The Knicks are going to have to find someone to pick up the slack. Sadly, Fournier isn't normally a consistent option. He'll have some low-end streaming appeal until Randle gets back on the court.

Thu Dec 30 202114:41Evan Fournier Uncertain For Friday
New York Knicks guard Evan Fournier (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is reportedly dealing with right ankle soreness, but will get Thursday off to rest. Fournier has had more upside lately with Julius Randle in COVID-19 protocols. Otherwise, Alec Burks and Immanuel Quickley would be asked to step up if Fournier is unable to play. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for more information.
