Pelicans waive Tyshawn Taylor.
He was acquired just this week and the Pelicans just don't have room for him even with Jrue Holiday out with a leg injury. Taylor might catch on somewhere else.

Tue Jan 21 201411:38Tyshawn Taylor officially traded to Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have acquired Tyshawn Taylor.
The worst-kept secret in the NBA became official on Tuesday as the Nets agreed to trade Taylor for cash and the draft rights to Edin Bavcic. This move was mostly a cost-cutting measure for the Nets as Bavcic will likely never play in the NBA, and fantasy owners need not worry about the transaction as Taylor has limited fantasy value in a reserve role for New Orleans.

The Nets have reportedly agreed to trade Tyshawn Taylor and cash the the Pelicans in exchange for a protected second-round pick.

Thu Jan 2 201413:08Tyshawn Taylor a game-time decision for Thurs
Tyshawn Taylor (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Thunder.
Taylor has missed two games with his ankle injury, but he wasn't seeing many minutes when healthy as he's largely fallen out of the Nets' rotation. Deron Williams is dealing with an undisclosed injury so Taylor may see some action if Williams is forced to miss any time, but he's not worth owning in any fantasy leagues at the moment.

Tue Dec 31 201313:21Tyshawn Taylor out for Tuesday's game vs SA
Tyshawn Taylor (ankle) will miss Tuesday's game against San Antonio.
Taylor has fallen out of the Nets' rotation with the return of Deron Williams as the second-year guard has averaged only 3.0 minutes per game in the last five games that he's seen the court. While the former Kansas Jayhawk could be a promising fantasy asset if he gets consistent playing time, that isn't going to happen unless Williams gets injured again so fantasy owners can feel free to cut him free if they haven't already.

Sat Dec 21 201314:36Nets send PG Tyshawn Taylor to D-League
The Nets have assigned backup PG Tyshawn Taylor to the D-League.
This could be an indication that Jason Terry (knee) is ready to return for Brooklyn, or simply a result of Taylor falling out of the rotation as the third-string backup behind Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston.

Tue Dec 3 201323:23Tyshawn Taylor struggles in another start
Tyshawn Taylor started at point guard again on Tuesday, but hit just 4-of-12 shots for 12 points, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes.
The minutes have been nice, but he simply hasn't responded for Jason Kidd and the struggling Nets. It will be interesting to see if he continues to start over Shaun Livingston as long as Deron Williams is out, but the truth of the matter is that it probably doesn't matter.

Sat Nov 30 201318:44Tyshawn Taylor starts at PG over Livingston
Tyshawn Taylor will make his first career NBA start on Saturday, replacing Shaun Livingston in the Nets' lineup.
Taylor had 16 points and 12 assists on Friday, as Jason Kidd benched four of his starters to begin the second half, and he's an intriguing pickup with Deron Williams (ankle) still on the shelf. Bear in mind that Taylor is shooting 37.0 percent from the field, he has limited 3-point range, and he faces a brutal matchup with Mike Conley and the Grizzlies tonight.

Jason Terry and Deron Williams will also sit this game out, so Shaun Livingston should be busy. Taylor has looked good this offseason and could make his way into the rotation. Plus, since Deron could miss time, Taylor is a stop-gap possibility in deeper leagues.

Sun Oct 13 201309:19Tyshawn Taylor has 'pretty bad' ankle sprain
Tyshawn Taylor referred to his ankle injury as a "pretty bad sprain" and he left the arena on Saturday wearing a protective boot.
With Deron Williams (ankle) already sidelined, Taylor had a golden opportunity to earn a rotation spot in the Nets' upcoming five preseason games. Instead, Shaun Livingston is the last man standing at PG and Jason Terry (knee) and others will have to take on more PG duties until D-Will and Taylor return. The second-year guard has no timetable for his return.

Sat Oct 12 201321:19Tyshawn Taylor leaves game with sore ankle
Tyshawn Taylor will not return to Saturday's game after injuring his right ankle in the first half.
It looked like a sprain but it's being called a "sore ankle" we should have some official diagnosis before long. It does nothing to Taylor chip away minutes from second-string PG Shaun Livingston, but both guys may get minutes regardless with Deron Williams (ankle) possibly facing a few DNPs to start the season.

Taylor turned in a nice summer league back in July, ranking fifth among Orlando participates with 16.8 points per game. Thu Jul 11 201317:58Tyshawn Taylor injures right ankle Thursday
Tyshawn Taylor was wearing a walking boot spraining his right ankle during Thursday's summer league game.
Taylor said he still plans on playing Friday in the team's summer league finale, so the boot might just be a precaution. Taylor appeared to injure it during a fall in the first half. He got up on his own power and walked off the court with the trainer but eventually returned to start the second half. He finished with 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting to go along with seven assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Tyshawn Taylor led the Nets on Monday with 17 points, but he shot 6-of-18 from the field with one assist, one steal and six turnovers.
This won't help Taylor cut into Shaun Livingston's backup PG minutes, but at least he's getting valuable experience vs. NBA players. He shot 36.8 percent from the field and 55.7 percent from the FT line in limited minutes as a rookie.
