(AP) — Sacramento Kings forward Trevor Ariza will miss the final two preseason games after he had a procedure to remove a lipoma from his back.The Kings said Ariza had the procedure Friday and would be re-evaluated after the preseason finale against Melbourne United on Wednesday.In addition, forward-center Harry Giles is sidelined by a sore left knee and also is likely to miss the last two preseason games. G Hollis Thompson made his first start of the season in place of G Gerald Henderson (illness), and he scored six points in 27 minutes.

The Philadelphia 76ers exercised the fourth-year team option on the contract of forward Hollis Thompson, the team announced Wednesday.Thompson, 25, averaged 9.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 77 games last season.In three NBA seasons, the 6-foot-8 Thompson has appeared in 225 games (81 starts) and averaged 8.2 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 39 percent from 3-point range. His 331 career 3-pointers are the eighth-most in Sixers history.

F Hollis Thompson shot just 3-for-14 from the floor Sunday in Philadelphia's loss to Milwaukee. He is shooting 25.4 percent over his past six games.
