Wed Aug 5 201511:56Shved will not compete at EuroBasket due to back injury
Shved will not compete at EuroBasket due to a back injury, Sportando reports.
Shved signed a deal to play in Russia this season, but the contract includes an opt-out clause. The back injury is a recent development, and it's unclear when Shved can return to basketball activities.
Wed Jul 15 201511:38Shved signed three-year contract with Russian club Khimki Moscow
Shved signed a three-year contract with the Russian club Khimki Moscow, baksetball reporter David Pick reports.
The deal reportedly includes an opt-out if Shved decides he'd like to come back to the NBA, so he'll still be an option for teams to look into as the free agency period continues. Shved is coming off the best season of his career after being traded from the Rockets to the Knicks mid-season. With the Knicks, Shved played in 16 games, finishing with averages of 14.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.9 steals over 26 minutes per game. With no NBA teams showing interest, Shved will head home to Russia, where he grew up and started his professional career.
Wed Jul 1 201516:52Shved did not receive qualifying offer from Knicks
Shved did not receive a qualifying offer from the Knicks, making him an unrestricted free agent, NBA.com reports.
Shved is able to sign with any team he chooses in free agency, and given his struggles finding a consistent role in the NBA, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to playing in Europe next season.

Shved was traded to the Knicks at the February deadline and averaged 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists in 16 games (nine starts) prior to suffering a season-ending ribs injury in March.
Shved spent the first half of this season with both the Sixers and Rockets, but was able to finish strong after being dealt to the Knicks. While New York's abysmal roster allowed Shved to play 26.4 minutes per game, the Russian performed admirably in such a situation. In fact, his 16-game averages with New York marked career-highs in virtually every meaningful fantasy category. Nonetheless, with the Knicks expected to overhaul their team this summer, it's unclear if Shved will be retained ahead of next season, clouding his fantasy outlook for the time being.
Wed Mar 25 201518:42Alexey Shved: (Ribs) On The Rack For 2-3 Weeks
Shved will miss the next 2-3 weeks with a fractured rib, essentially ending his season.
Shved can be dropped in all standard one-year leagues. In his absence, Langston Galloway, Shane Larkin, and Cleanthony Early should see the biggest jumps in value, but Galloway is the only one worth rostering in standard leagues at this time.
Wed Mar 25 201517:52Shved (ribs) will not play Wednesday against Clippers
Shved (ribs) will not play Wednesday against the Clippers, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Shved was initially considered questionable to play after missing Monday's game with a minor rib injury, but after receiving treatment Wednesday afternoon he'll be held out of action. With Jose Calderon (Achilles), Tim Hardaway, Jr. (wrist), Travis Wear (back) and Carmelo Anthony (knee) all out, the Knicks will only have 10 available players.
Tue Mar 24 201517:27Shved (ribs) questionable for Wednesday's game against Clippers ...
Shved (ribs) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Clippers but is listed as a likely starter, Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com reports.
Shved missed Monday's game against the Grizzlies, allowing Langston Galloway and Shane Larkin to combine for 87 minutes. If Shved returns Wednesday night, Larkin will be the big loser in terms of playing time, but Galloway could be the bigger loser in terms of usage. There's also some chance Tim Hardaway (questionable-wrist) returns.
Mon Mar 23 201517:57Shved (ribs) ruled out of Monday's game against Grizzlies
Shved (ribs) has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Grizzlies.
Shved suffered a ribs contusion Sunday, making Monday's contest too early for him to return for. As a result, Shane Larkin will fill Shved's spot in the Knicks' starting backcourt Monday.
Sun Mar 22 201517:38Alexey Shved: Suffers Rib Contusion Sunday
Shved will not return to Sunday's game against the Raptors after suffering a rib contusion.
Shved should be considered day-to-day moving forward until the Knicks shed some light on the severity of his injury. Shane Larkin started in place of Shved to begin the second half so it's reasonable to assume that Larkin could see added minutes if Shved is off the court beyond Sunday.

Shved continued his hot streak Friday against the Sixers, hitting seven three-pointers en-route to a 25-point performance. He also added six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 35 minutes of action.
Shved is now averaging 19.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers made over the last five games. These numbers seem too good to be true, and chances are, Shved will cool down eventually. However, owners can continue to ride the hot hand until the dream is over.

Shved scored 20 points (7-21 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT) with six assists, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 43 minutes during Thursday's OT loss to the Timberwolves.
He's become a useful fantasy option in the Knicks' threadbare backcourt, and Shved is now averaging 17.8 points, 5.4 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.8 threes and 1.3 steals over his last eight games.

Shved continues to get to the line at a high rate, finishing Tuesday's win with 21 points (6-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 8-12 FT), seven assists, three rebounds, three assists, and one turnover in 36 minutes.
Since joining the starting lineup, Shved is averaging 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals, 2.2 three-pointers, and 7.0 free-throw attempts in 31.7 minutes per game. The absence of Jose Calderon (Achilles), Tim Hardaway Jr. (wrist), and Cleanthony Early (ankle) ensures Shved will continue to get minutes as the primary playmaker.
Sun Mar 15 201523:33Shved played 32 minutes Sunday in loss to Suns
Shved played 32 minutes Sunday in a loss to the Suns. He finished the game with 18 points (6-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-8 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Shved has seen a boost in playing time and production since joining the Knicks. He was limited in a blowout loss to the Warriors on Saturday but has scored 14 or more points in each of his past six games and is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game in his past four.

Shved scored 14 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT) with four rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block in 21 minutes Saturday.
Shved minutes were limited as the Knicks were blown out and coach Derek Fisher decided to run out his full rotation, but he was still productive. He is now averaging 17.0 points, 2.5 three-pointers, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in his last four games, and at this point, is a must own player.

Shved scored a season high 21 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT) with 10 rebounds and seven assists in 41 minutes Tuesday.
This is a statistically impressive performance for Shved, but most of it can be chalked up to his massive 41 minutes played. He has been useful while filling in for Tim Hardaway Jr. (back), and may have done enough to earn that spot going forward. Still, he may not have fantasy value even if he can claim the starting spot, if Hardaway cuts into these minutes too much when he returns.
Tue Mar 10 201520:03Shved in starting lineup Tuesday against Utah
Shved is in the starting lineup Tuesday against Utah.
Shved will be making his second straight start in place of Tim Hardaway Jr., who continues to deal with back spasms. As the starter Monday, Shved had 19 points and an assist over 26 minutes on the floor.

Shved scored 19 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT) in 26 minutes during Monday's loss to the Nuggets.
Like the man he was replacing in the starting lineup, Tim Hardaway Jr, Shved didn't contribute much in the way of fantasy value beyond his shooting, but even if Hardaway returns to action quickly from his back spasms Shved has played well enough to potentially stick in the starting lineup. If you need guard help in a deep league, Shved could be worth churning a roster spot for.

Shved will get the start at shooting guard Monday in place of Tim Hardaway, Jr., Steve Popper of The Record reports.
Shved has been a productive option of late, scoring in double-figures in five of his last six games. Last time out, he posted 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes against the Pacers.

Shved attempted a team-high 15 shots in 27 minutes off the bench and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one three-pointer Saturday against the Pacers.
Shved continues to get to the line at a high rate, attempting 5.2 free throws in 22.5 minutes over the past six games. He also leads the Knicks in fourth-quarter minutes over that span at 9.1 per game, taking full advantage of the blowout losses. With Jose Calderon (Achilles) set to be examined next week, Shved becomes an interesting streamer candidate because the Knicks play five games this upcoming week.

Shved scored 15 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT) with two rebounds, five assists and two steals in just 20 minutes Saturday as the Knicks notched their second consecutive victory.
In his four games in New York, Shved is averaging just 16 minutes per contest, but contributing 9.3 points, 0.8 three-pointers, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists. While those numbers look good if they were to be extrapolated to starter's minutes, Shved is currently stuck behind Langston Galloway, Tim Hardaway, Shane Larkin and Jose Calderon (Achilles), when healthy.
