The Brooklyn Nets signed center Henry Sims on Wednesday for the remainder of the season.The 6-foot-10, 248-pound Sims, 26, was originally signed to the first of two 10-day contracts on March 17.Sims has appeared in nine games (two starts) with the Nets, averaging 6.0 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game.

The Phoenix Suns waived center Henry Sims on Saturday, reducing their roster to 14 players.Sims signed with the Suns on Sept. 16 and played in all six preseason games, totaling 10 points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.

Sims has agreed to a training camp deal with the Suns, AZCentral reports.

Sims is a three-year veteran of the NBA, spending the last two seasons with the Sixers. In 73 games last season, he averaged 8.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.4 blocks in 19 minutes per game. With Joel Embiid out for all of last season following foot surgery, Sims was forced into action for the Sixers. The 25-year-old played OK, but his per-minute production was never substantial enough to warrant using in most fantasy leagues. With just 13 players on guaranteed contracts, there are two roster spots available, but even if Sims is signed, he's unlikely to play much on a team looking to make the playoffs.

Sims is an unrestricted free agent after the 76ers declined his $1.18 million qualifying offer, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.

After the NBA Draft, the Sixers now have plenty of depth in the frontcourt and they will more than likely let Sims sign elsewhere as a result. Sims' value for this upcoming season depends entirely on where he goes, but he is a serviceable big man when given the minutes, as he averaged 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in the 32 games he started last season.

Sims averaged 8.0 points, 1.1 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 0.5 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 19 minutes per game for 73 regular season games in 2014-15. He has a qualifying offer for 2015-16.

Sims was able to slide into the starting lineup 32 times in 2014-15, but that was mostly due to team injuries and lack of depth. Joel Embiid suffered a setback with his surgery recovery, so Sims could see minutes at center once again for 2015-16. While he isn't a reliable fantasy asset in standard leagues, he has value for daily games when he gets on the starting lineup. If Sims declines his qualifying offer and enters free agency, then his value could change on a new team, depending on the role he inherits. Owners should keep an eye on his offseason to see where and if he moves.

Sims is starting Saturday's contest against the Hawks, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Sims hasn't started since Feb. 22 against the Magic, but Jason Richardson's (knee) absence has forced changes in the regular starting lineup. In 31 nods this season, Sims has averaged 10.4 points (on 49 percent shooting), 5.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 24 minutes.

Sims will start against the Magic on Sunday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sims will start in place of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (personal) on Sunday. Although, Mbah a Moute is expected to join the team in Orlando, so it's possible that Sims will head back to the bench for Monday's game against the Heat.

Sims will return to the bench for Wednesday's game versus Detroit, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sims started Monday's game in New Orleans but will move back to the bench Wednesday as Jakarr Sampson moves into the starting five. Sims had 14 points and three rebounds in 19 minutes Monday and is averaging 8.4 points and 5.2 boards per game this month.

Sims came off the bench for 19 minutes against the Raptors on Friday. He complied 11 points and four rebounds during his time on the court.

Sims came into the season with high expectations after finishing with a strong end to his 2013-14 campaign. Those expectations have not been met this season and his value currently lies in deeper leagues that can put up with a bench player that specializes in rebounding.

Sims scored 11 points (4-12 FG, 3-4 FT) with 12 rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Knicks.

It's his second double-double in three games. Sims' minutes have been dwindling recently, but with a large chunk of the Sixers' frontcourt sidelined on Wednesday he got plenty of court time. Look for him to return to a smaller role in the rotation once Nerlens Noel gets over his flu bug.

Sims got the start for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute on Monday, scoring 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-3 FT) to go with three rebounds and two assists. He logged 21 minutes despite being in the starting lineup.

Sims will likely return to the bench when Mbah a Moute comes back from a knee contusion, so his time as a semi-viable option is going to be short lived.

Sims is coming off of a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double against the Pistons on Saturday, but it was just his second double-double of the season. He's seen in his minutes lead decrease with each passing month and is averaging 7.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game in January.

Sims returned to a bench role Friday against the Pelicans. He scored three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 FT) and added one assist and two steals in 11 minutes.

For the second time in three games, Sims saw very little court time. He wasn't in foul trouble or playing particularly poorly while on the floor in either game, he just wasn't used much. His production is both inconsistent and underwhelming. He is a very good per-minute passer for a big man, but he is not playing enough for owners to really be able to take advantage of that skill. Unless or until he gets a larger or more consistent role in the rotation, Sims is hard to justify owning in most leagues.

Sims started at center on Wednesday, scoring eight points (4-9 FG) with seven rebounds, two assists and a block in 24 minutes.

He ended up seeing about as much court time as he normally does off the bench, so the spot start didn't really impact his value. Robert Covington missed the game with a shoulder bruise but likely won't be out of action for long, so expect Sims to return to his modest bench role very soon.

Sims played 19 minutes in his return to the bench. He scored 11 points (3-7 FG, 5-6 FT), grabbed nine rebounds, and recorded one assist against the Pacers on Saturday.

K.J. McDaniels replaced Sims in the starting lineup. The organization views Nerlens Noel as a center, likely reducing Sims' minutes when the frontcourt is healthy and locking him into a reserve role for the foreseeable future.

Sims will move to the bench against the Pacers on Saturday, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Sims is getting forced out of the starting five to make room for rookie K.J. McDaniels. This isn't necessarily a permanent change going forward and he played just 18 minutes as a starter Friday anyways.

Sims started in place of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (toe) and put up decent numbers in limited minutes. He's certainly not an offensive force and although he is a decent rebounder, don't expect him to carry significant fantasy value.

Sims had a solid game Friday putting up 16 points (6-7 FG, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Sims can put up solid lines but is too inconsistent to warrant a roster spot on anything but the deepest of leagues. With Luc-Richard Mbah a Moute (calf) back from injury, Sims will serve as a bench player.

Sims will come off the bench Saturday, contrary to prior reports.

Nerlens Noel, and not Sims, will get the start despite an 0-for-8 shooting performance Friday night.

Sims will start Saturday against the Grizzlies, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sims fared well in his 24 minutes Friday against Brooklyn, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting, with four rebounds and one steal. Meanwhile, Nerlens Noel went 0-for-8 from the field, giving him a 35.9 field goal percentage for the month of December. It remains to be seen if this change will stick.
