Sat Jun 29 201317:47DeQuan Jones won't receive qualifying offer
DeQuan Jones will not receive a qualifying offer from the Magic and will become an unrestricted free agent.
He never really had a chance with the Magic selecting Victor Oladipo at two. Jones saw 17 starts last season, but played just 12.7 minutes per game in his rookie campaign. He'll play in summer league with the Magic and could catch on with another team or the Magic could even re-sign him.

Sat Apr 6 201300:43Jones plays 36 minutes in Friday's game
DeQuan Jones played 36 minutes on Friday, scoring 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting with two rebounds, a block and a three.
Jones has never really been productive with or without minutes, but he could see some extra time if Moe Harkless' knee issue causes him to miss games. Unless you're in a deeper league, there's not a whole lot to see.

Wed Mar 27 201322:05DeQuan Jones plays well in start at SG
DeQuan Jones started at shooting guard for the Magic on Wednesday and had 13 points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks on 6-of-9 shooting.
So much for Beno Udrih and E'Twaun Moore, eh? Udrih played just 18 minutes for nine points, five assists and a 3-pointer, while Moore got 12 minutes for three points and two assists. The Magic are more interested in taking a look at the guys who don't get much playing time than anything else, and it's possible Jones gets some nice burn to finish up the season. But if you own Udrih or Moore, this looks like a bad timeshare at best, meaning it might be time to move on.

Wed Mar 27 201317:55DeQuan Jones will start at SG against Bobcats
DeQuan Jones will start at shooting guard against the Bobcats on Wednesday, according to Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel.
The last time we blurbed about Jones was Feb. 6, which tells you his relevancy this season. Jones replaces E'Twaun Moore, who had been in and out of the starting lineup this season at shooting guard and point guard. According to Fox Sports Florida, it will be the Magic's 24th different starting lineup this season. With the playoffs very far out of reach, the Magic are trying to assess their young talent before the end of the season and Jones' spot start seems to fit that M.O. He could have value in deeper leagues if he sticks in the starting lineup but we're skeptical for the time being.

Tue Nov 13 201210:49Magic being cautious with rookie DeQuan Jones
Magic officials don't want to aggravate DeQuan Jones' strained groin.
With Hedo Turkoglu (broken hand) sidelined, Jones is missing out on a major opportunity to earn extra minutes. The good news is fellow rookie Moe Harkless has failed to take advantage of added playing time thus far, and Jones could still have a chance to impress when he's healthy. He's worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues.
