Mon Feb 2619:44Dennis Schroder Moves Into Starting Five
Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder has moved up into the starting five for just the second time in his Brooklyn tenure so far. Ben Simmons (leg) was upgraded to available for this contest, but he won't be retaining his starting role according to the Nets' official Twitter account. Including his time in Toronto, during the 34 starts that Schroder has received this year, he's averaged 14.7 points, 6.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 made threes, 1.1 steals, and 1.9 turnovers per game. Schroder may be gaining back some of his fantasy value now that Kevin Ollie has taken over as the head coach and he's willing to keep experimenting with the starters.

Thu Feb 815:28Dennis Schroder Moved To Nets In Deadline Deal
Toronto Raptors guard Dennis Schroder has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets, along with Thaddeus Young, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Raptors received Spencer Dinwiddie who is expected to be bought out and enter the free agent market shortly thereafter. This move ended up looking like a money-saving deal that freed up even more minutes for Immanuel Quickley, Bruce Brown, and newly acquired Ochai Agbaji. From the Nets' point of view, Schroder gives them a similarly talented distributor and a better shooter to complement Mikal Bridges, Cam Thomas, and Cameron Johnson. Schroder could see an increase in assists since he should at least see a similar amount of minutes.

Wed Nov 15 202315:45Dennis Schroder Pops Up As Questionable
Toronto Raptors guard Dennis Schroder (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Right knee soreness has caused Schroder to suddenly find his way on the injury report, with his availability now blurred for Wednesday's tilt. The 30-year-old playmaker has rewarded fantasy managers who took a late-round flier on him following Fred VanVleet's exit, returning mid-round 9-category worth with averages of 15.4 points, 7.7 assists, 1.7 threes, and 1.0 steals this season. If Schroder can't go, Toronto next sees an In-Season Tournament duel with the Boston Celtics on Friday. With Gary Trent Jr. (foot) not expected to play, head coach Darko Rajakovic could be down to Malachi Flynn at the one against the Bucks. Scottie Barnes, an early 2023-24 Most Improved Player of the Year candidate, would likely play some point forward for the Raptors if Schroder is sidelined.

Thu Nov 2 202310:20Dennis Schroder Bags Another Double-Double
Toronto Raptors point guard Dennis Schroder made it three double-doubles in four games with 24 points and 11 assists in Wednesday's impressive 130-111 win over the Bucks. He added four rebounds to his tally with one steal, shooting 9-for-13 from the field and 2-for-4 from outside. Schroder has always been known as a score-first point guard, but he appears to have reinvented his game in Canada and sits among the league leaders in assists early in the season. He has averaged 9.2 dimes while posting 16.2 points with 50 percent shooting from deep. Schroder will now enter a pair of very juicy matchups against San Antonio and Philadelphia, two teams that have struggled to contain opposing point guards. The Spurs have even allowed the most points in the league per 48 minutes to the position.

Toronto Raptors point guard Dennis Schroder sees himself as a great fit for the team and is excited to link up with head coach Darko Rajakovic, whom he's previously worked with in Oklahoma City. "This is his first year as the head coach. I met him five years ago in OKC, and we became friends," Schroder told Malika Andrews in an appearance on NBA Today. "I liked how he was coaching, myself and the team. He called me right away when he took over, and I definitely said to my agent, 'I want to be there. I want to be a part of that.' I think it's a great fit, to play the national team-type (style). Handle the ball a little bit more, go out and run. ... I think it's a great fit." Schroder is locked into a starter's position in Toronto and looks set for a big year in 2023-24 as he gets to work with a coach who rates him highly.

Tue May 16 202319:29Dennis Schroder Expected To Remain A Starter Tuesday
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder is expected to remain starting against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Schroder got the spot start in Game 6 of last round's playoff series versus the Golden State Warriors and helped Los Angeles grab a commanding lead before being ejected. With Schroder in the starting lineup, Jarred Vanderbilt was pushed out of the rotation, only playing four minutes in garbage time. Denver has more size on their roster so Vanderbilt may get more run off the bench this time around.

Sun Apr 23 202321:57Dennis Schroder Expected To Play In Game 4
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder (Achilles) is listed as probable for Game 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. The 29-year-old has some lingering Achilles soreness which seems to be more of a wear and tear type of injury rather than an issue that occurred during their last game. The veteran from Germany has yet to have a standout game in this series, especially scoring-wise. He's only putting up 4.7 points and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 35.7% from the floor.

Sat Apr 22 202313:28Dennis Schroder Probable For Game 3
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder (Achilles) is expected to play on Saturday versus Memphis. The veteran has been battling a sore right Achilles since the end of the regular season, so his presence on the injury report is only a formality. That said, Schroder has averaged only 3.5 points in 18.0 minutes per game in this series, so his DFS outlook isn't favorable by any means.

Sat Apr 15 202321:22Dennis Schroder Expected To Suit Up On Sunday
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder (Achilles) is probable for Sunday's postseason meeting against Memphis. The 29-year-old has been bothered by right Achilles soreness. However, he'll likely be out there for the series opener. Schroder had 21 points in the play-in win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday and continues to have a relatively stable role in the rotation. While he isn't a consistent fantasy option, his upside can't be ignored.

Wed Apr 12 202309:44Dennis Schroder Provides 21 Points Off Of The Bench
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder provided a huge boost off of the bench while most of the other guards on the team struggled in the six-point overtime win. The 29-year-old clocked 33 minutes of playing time as he ended with 21 points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal on 5-for-12 shooting overall, 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, and 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Schroder and the rest of the bench need to stay consistent to have any shot at beating the Grizzlies in the first round. In DFS situations, Schroder could provide solid value as he should get consistent minutes.

Tue Apr 11 202317:29Dennis Schroder No Longer On The Injury Report
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder is no longer appearing on the injury report and should be fully available for the team's play-in game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The 29-year-old missed the last two games of the regular season, but the team is looking as healthy as they've been all season heading into this contest. Schroder will most likely return to a bench role as D'Angelo Russell is expected to play as well.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Thu Feb 9 202322:16Russell Westbrook Traded To Jazz - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Russell Westbrook experiment in Los Angeles has been less than ideal over the past two years and has officially come to an end. With the West stocking up everywhere, the Lakers knew they had to make a splash in order to make a push to the playoffs. The Lakers executed a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves, involving a total of eight players and multiple draft picks Wednesday night. The Lakers sent Russell Westbrook, Juan Tuscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt while also acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz also sent Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves while accumulating even more draft capital. So just what is the fantasy basketball fallout of this blockbuster trade? Let's examine how each of the teams and players in the deal may be affected going forward.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is expected to be bought out from Utah and enter free agency. There are already rumors of teams interested in the veteran point guard, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Chicago Bulls. If Westbrook were to be claimed, he would likely be given a prominent role immediately given these three teams are all lacking in the point guard position. Westbrook's caveat has always been his personality fit so it remains to be seen how well he can mesh with his new team if he is claimed.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Lakers

The Lakers get some much-needed spacing and size with the additions of Russell, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. Russell is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three while averaging 17.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. Russell should absorb Westbrook's minutes and will likely start at point guard over ... [More]
