Sat Nov 18 202309:34Alex Len Ruled Out For At Least Six Weeks
Sacramento Kings center Alex Len (ankle) faces a lengthy absence, as he has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks. The seven-footer from Ukraine has suffered a moderate high ankle sprain, and it's possible we won't see him again until the calendar flips to 2024. We actually haven't seen much of him when he's been healthy either, with Len logging only 6.8 minutes across six games as the third center in the Kings rotation. His absence won't change anything in fantasy basketball.

Sun Apr 3 202219:28Alex Len Good To Go On Sunday
Sacramento Kings center Alex Len (back) has been given the green light to suit up for Sunday night's game against the Golden State Warriors. Len is currently hampered by a sore back, but it won't keep on the sidelines on Sunday. Unfortunately for Len, he's become a bit buried on the depth chart, even with both Domantas Sabonis (knee) and Richaun Holmes (personal) out of action. Damian Jones is excelling as the team's starting center and the only other big men in Sacramento seeing sturdy minutes right now are Trey Lyles and Chimezie Metu.

Wed Mar 30 202219:38Alex Len, Josh Jackson Active On Wednesday
Sacramento Kings center Alex Len (illness) and forward Josh Jackson (illness) will both be active for Wednesday night's game against the Houston Rockets. This update comes as a surprise as both players had been previously ruled out for the game due to non-COVID illnesses. Neither player has been seeing much of the court lately. Len has rebounding and block potential, but would need to surpass Neemias Queta and Chimezie Metu on the depth chart in order to warrant some fantasy appeal.

Wed Mar 9 202221:21Alex Len To Start At Center
Sacramento Kings center Alex Len will get the starting nod for Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets. Domantas Sabonis (suspension) and Richaun Holmes (personal) are both sidelined for this game. At this point, the Kings don't have many other options at center, so Len will get the start. He should get plenty of minutes, but remains a low-end streaming option. De'Aaron Fox, Justin Holiday, Harrison Barnes and Trey Lyles are expected to join Len in the starting five.

Thu Dec 16 202119:49Alex Len The Latest Sacramento Player To Enter COVID Protocols
Sacramento Kings center Alex Len has entered the league's COVID-19 health and safety protocols and will be out for the near future. Len is the second Kings player to be reported in the protocols on Thursday, following point guard De'Aaron Fox. With Marvin Bagley IIIand Richaun Holmes (eye) on the shelf, Len was the remaining center on the roster. Chimezie Metu is likely to be the lone big man, unless the Kings sign another center or Holmes rapidly recovers from his injury.

Sat Jan 23 202113:29Shorthanded Wizards sign 2 centers, set to resume Sunday
WASHINGTON (AP) — The shorthanded Washington Wizards signed free agent centers Alex Len and Jordan Bell on Saturday, trying to fill out a roster decimated by COVID-19 and injuries. The Wizards have scrapped six games since a win over Phoenix on Jan. 11 made them 3-8. They’re scheduled to play Sunday at San Antonio. Six Washington players have tested positive for the coronavirus and three other players were sidelined after contact tracing determined they might have been exposed to the illness. Starting center Thomas Bryant is out for the season with an injured left knee and point guard Russell Westbrook is still dealing with a left quadriceps injury. The 7-foot Len averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 474 games over eight seasons with Phoenix, Atlanta, Sacramento and Toronto. He played seven games for the Raptors this season. The 27-year-old from Ukraine played at Maryland before he was the fifth overall pick by Phoenix in the 2013 draft. The 6-8 Bell averaged 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 154 games over three seasons with Golden State, Minnesota and Memphis. The 26-year-old hadn’t played in the NBA this season. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports

Thu Dec 31 202022:54Raptors hold Knicks to 3 for 36 from 3, win without Siakam
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The New York Knicks might have been able to take advantage of the absence of Toronto forward Pascal Siakam on Thursday night if they could have made some outside shots. Fred VanVleet scored 25 points and the Raptors, playing without their star forward, earned their first victory this season by beating the Knicks 100-83. New York's bid for a three-game win streak was ruined by 3-for-36 shooting from 3-point range. “If we would have made some of our 3s, we probably would have had a good chance to win,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. Siakam, who left the court promptly in frustration Tuesday night after fouling out of a game at Philadelphia, was on the Toronto bench but not in uniform. Norman Powell started at small forward and finished with 17 points after making three of Toronto's first four baskets. “Obviously it was a disciplinary thing for an internal matter. Let's keep it at that for tonight,” Toronto coach Nick Nurse said. Kyle Lowry had 20 points and seven rebounds... [More]

Sat Aug 15 202013:14Kings once again seek answers after missing playoffs
All the momentum the Sacramento Kings had when the NBA season shut down in March disappeared when they arrived in the bubble. The disappointing performance in Florida has left the Kings on the outside of the playoffs for the 14th straight season. That's the longest active drought in the NBA and led to change in the front office with Vlade Divac stepping down as general manager.“I feel like you’re always trying to play your best basketball late into March and April and I thought we were on our way to doing that,” first-year coach Luke Walton said. “So that part of it, I thought it was a success. We hit a bunch of lows this year too. Some came from injuries, some came from the way we were playing and that, we don’t want to see.”Those lows were evident in the bubble when the Kings lost five of their first six games to get eliminated from postseason contention. The team was hampered by Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Jabari Parker and Alex Len all positive for COVID-19 and missing practice time... [More]
Fri Aug 14 202002:43Into the unknown: NBA teams face concerns outside of bubble
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Luke Walton was trying to find the right words to motivate his players to finish the season strong. The Sacramento Kings had been eliminated from playoff contention, which was nothing new for the team with the NBA’s longest streak of missing the postseason.Yet, even players who’d spent their whole careers with the organization had never heard the type of speech their coach made this week. This wasn’t the normal talk of playing for pride, of trying to make an impression for next season. “He said something like, ‘We don’t know when the basketball is going to come back after this time,’” guard Bogdan Bogdanovic said. The 22 teams who qualified for the NBA’s restart will be down to 16 by the end of the weekend, when the playoff bracket is set. The other six clubs exit World Disney World the same way as tourists who normally pack the place.Their fun is over. Now it’s back to the real world, and the real world in 2020 is an unsettling place. “The unknown, none of... [More]

(AP) — Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings became the latest NBA player to reveal that he has the coronavirus, making the announcement Tuesday and saying he has hopes to join his team for the league’s restart later this summer.Barnes is the only player who has started all 64 of the Kings’ games this season. To extend that streak, he’ll need to be cleared and arrive at Walt Disney World before Sacramento’s season resumes with the first of its eight seeding games on July 31 against San Antonio.“Prior to the team leaving last week, I tested positive for Covid-19,” Barnes wrote on social media. “I’ve been primarily asymptomatic and am doing well. MIAMI (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation says Miami forward Derrick Jones Jr. has tested positive for the coronavirus, a result that came in shortly after the Heat and other NBA teams began mandatory testing in preparation for next month's resumption of the season.Jones, the reigning NBA slam dunk contest champion, still plans to play when the Heat get back on the floor at the Disney complex near Orlando next month, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because neither the Heat nor the player revealed the result publicly.League officials have expected that positive tests would be inevitable, and believed that starting a testing regimen now — roughly five weeks before games begin at Disney — will give players with positive results time to recover and get back with their teams before those contests start July 30.A small number of NBA players publicly revealed Wednesday that they had tested positive, including Sacramento teammates Jabari Parker and Alex Len and Indiana's Malcolm Brogdon.
