Felix was drafted fourth overall by the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2014 D-League Draft.
Felix was traded to the Jazz in the offseason but was waived right before the season started to make room for Utah's addition of Jordan Hamilton and Joe Ingles. The 24-year-old played in 14 games last season for the Cavaliers as he was sidelined with a broken kneecap for a good portion of the year. He will be a prime candidate for a call up to the NBA as the season progresses.
Mon Oct 27 201418:38Felix waived by Jazz on Monday
Felix was waived by the Jazz on Monday, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
The Jazz signed both Jordan Hamilton and Joe Ingles on Monday, so Felix was waived in order to open up an additional roster spot. Felix appeared in seven games for the Cavs last season and was acquired by the Jazz in July in a deal that sent John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to Cleveland.

Felix has been able to play in four preseason games since initially injuring his shoulder in late August.
Felix made a quicker than expected recovery from his Grade One AC joint sprain and seems to be in the fold for the Jazz moving forward. Coach Quin Snyder has praised Felix during the offseason for his defensive mindset, although the 24-year-old will likely have a hard time carving out minutes in a rotation already occupied by Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, Dante Exum, and Rodney Hood.

Felix (shoulder) has been upgraded to a game-time decision for Thursday's game in Los Angeles, the Salt Lake Tribune's Tony Jones reports.
Felix is apparently ahead of schedule in his recovery from a shoulder injury, and it looks promising that he could be ready for the start of the regular season. However, he's not expected to be a rotation player this season.
Tue Oct 14 201416:20Felix (shoulder) partial participant in Thursday's practice
Felix (shoulder) was a partial participant in Thursday's practice, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.
Felix is not expected to return for another couple of weeks, but his participation in non-contact drills is certainly a step in the right correction. Once the regular season opens, Felix's playing time figures to be very minimal, barring a rash of injuries.

Felix will miss approximately four weeks with a Grade One AC joint sprain of his left shoulder, Jazz announcer David Locke reports.
Felix was going to struggle for minutes anyway, but now that he'll miss basically all of training camp, he will really struggle to become a part of Utah's rotation.
Tue Jul 22 201418:58Jazz, Cavaliers agree to four-player trade
The Jazz have agreed to trade John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to the Cavaliers, in exchange for Carrick Felix, a future second-round pick and $1 million.
The Cavaliers gain flexibility with the move since none of the players they'll receive have guaranteed contracts, and this trade has all the marks of a precursor to a possible deal for Kevin Love. The Warriors appear to have fallen out of the K-Love sweepstakes due to their refusal to part with Klay Thompson, and the Cavs seem like the clear-cut favorites with only the Nuggets and Bulls explicitly rumored to be bidding for Love. As for Felix, he won't have fantasy relevance in Utah or anywhere else.

Fri Nov 22 201320:37Carrick Felix practiced for a second time
Carrick Felix made his debut on Friday against the Pelicans.
He went through Friday's shootaround, but this is a surprise to see him on the court so soon. In Las Vegas Summer League, Felix was an exciting player to watch and was able to get his own shot, so he could get a chance for mintues. The Cavs do have some issues on the wing, but Felix will have to put on quite a show to be a consistent factor in the rotation off the bat.

Tue Aug 6 201310:29Cavs give rookie Carrick Felix four-year deal
The Cavaliers signed SG Carrick Felix to a four-year contract on Monday, with the first three years guaranteed.
The Cavs drafted Felix in the second round after he averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in his junior season with Arizona State. He's a 6'6" shooting guard with solid 3-point range and his defense caught Mike Brown's eye. The three guaranteed years prove Cleveland has plenty of confidence in him, but he's unlikely to make a dent in fantasy leagues as a rookie.

Mon Jul 22 201309:07Good chance Carrick Felix makes the Cavs
Mike Brown said that Carrick Felix has a good chance to make the Cavs.
"I liked what Carrick did," Brown said. "He's a young guy that really doesn't know quite what he's doing, but he seems like a quick learner. He's long, he's athletic, he brings a lot of energy to the table on every possession. So he's a guy who has a pretty good chance of making our team. Felix had an encouraging outing in Vegas and really like to get out and run in transition. The Cavs do have some depth on the wing, so Felix won't be worth draft in fantasy leagues this season.

Fri Jul 12 201321:58Carrick Felix scores 14 points in pro debut
Carrick Felix looked good in his pro debut in Las Vegas on Friday, scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go with six boards, one steal, two blocks, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 25 minutes.
He was the 33rd pick of the draft and did a terrific job of filling up the stat sheet tonight. As encouraging as this may be, Felix is a bit buried on the depth chart for the Cavs and is unlikely to be a noticeable factor in his first season.
